The 1957 models retained a single-headlight front end like their predecessors, but were unmistakable with their long flanks and tailfins. A plethora of trim lines was introduced, starting with the base "Custom", "Custom 300", "Fairlane", and top-line "Fairlane 500". The two Custom lines used a 116 in (2946 mm) wheelbase, while the Fairlanes had 118 in (2997 mm) between the wheels. A new car/pickup truck hybrid based on the short-wheelbase chassis was also introduced, the Ranchero.
The 223 CID (3.7 L) OHV Straight-6 continued, now with 144 hp (107 kW). The V8 lineup included a 272 CID (4.5 L) Y-block making 190 hp (142 kW), a 292 CID (4.8 L) Thunderbird version making 212 hp (158 kW), a 312 cubic inch V8 making 245 HP and a supercharged 312 CID (5.1 L) Thunderbird Special making 300 hp (224 kW), and designated "Police Interceptor" on the glove box. Two dual 4 barrel versions of the naturally aspirated (non-supercharged) 312 cubic inch V8 rated at 270 and 285 HP were available. The 270 HP version had the same cam as all the other V-8's but had vibration dampers on the valve springs. The 285 HP engine had a racing cam and was only available to NASCAR and possibly other racers. This option was dubbed "E code" and was available in all body types. It came standard with the deep-dish steering wheel. The radio had a transistorized audio output stage for the first time.[4] There were lights for the generator and oil instead of gauges.[5] The controls became recessed for more safety (the Lifeguard safety package was still available)[6]
A new frame was used for the 1957 Fords. It moved to perimeter rails out, so that they would fully envelope the passengers.[7]
In a survey of 1957 Ford owners in the March, 1957 issue of Popular Mechanics, only 6.2% of owners ordered seat belts.[8]
This model was very successful, being the best selling car in America, overtaking arch rival Chevrolet for the first time since 1935. (Source: Wikipedia) Авто/Мото

Thank you George!
I always watch your videos when I need to calm down. You have no idea how much it helps.
Thanks, and enjoy!
Love it! Perfect paint job. Makes me want to do a two tone 50's car. Sweet look.
You should, thanks!
This is a really neat kit and you did a great job on it. Revell has always made some great model kits and this is no exception. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful kit! Awesome build as usual!
Thanks Richard!
Love the underbody shots on the recent hydraulic-lift build. Beautiful car and you did it justice.
Thanks Steve!
That Gasser came out great. Nice detail I love your builds and spin. I did my 57 Gasser and installed the Revell 427 Ford chrome engine accessory kit. I de-chromed it with purple power. I used the blown version and cut a hole in the hood. Found some 427 decals and it looks real cool.
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year from hpiguys Workshop!
Where did this 427 chrome engine accessory kit come from? I would like to try this!
I enjoy your builds. You make the painting process very simple and straight forward, the fact that you must have a steady hand because your great attention to detail makes the models pop nicely. Big thumbs up!
Thanks a lot man!
Absolutely Beautiful Work Brother, God Bless All
Thank you Gary!
Excellent job really love the 1950 gasser's thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice kit... I like little things like the open grill.. makes it look so much better. Thanks again for a great review and build.
Thanks a lot Hisham!
You make building models look so easy. I know I take a hell of alot longer to build a kit. I don't usually use spray cans so it takes a while for me to brush paint everything.
Thanks man!
There is no right speed or anything to make a model.
As long as you are having fun that's all that matters. Enjoy the hobby and build for yourself, your way.
You can't beat an old gasser ! ✌😎
It's a fun kit!
Looks awesome bro! I was on Model Round up a few days ago eye-balling this kit, Great job and thank you much for the review my friend!🏁🏁👍
Cool, order itup, they will appreciate it!

Thanks! Link in the description, MR has them on preorder right now!
Looks great. Nice work ! Lots of memories there.
Thanks 👍
I just finished building the 57 Ford 2 in 1 kit a week ago for a co-worker for his father for Father's day so a lot of the parts are real familiar to me. The build went super together easily except for when I went to put the body on the chassis. The rear end is boxed off so it took a lot of massaging to get the body on but the plus was it fits so tight no glue was needed. I see the Gasser version is the same.
A smooth build.
I slid the back up and in first, then closed it like a clam shell.
Great build! The 50s two tone looks awesome.
Thanks a lot Jim!
Great build, that will look great next to the 57 Chevy, I'm a Ford guy so you know which one I'm pulling for. Keep up the good work! Jeff
Thank you Jeff!
I’m a model railroader/Lego enthusiast but watching your videos got me yearning to build some car/truck kits which I have not done in many years.
You are an amazing model builder, cutting to the chase and rolling kits out
Awesome channel you got here
👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thanks man, every kind of model is fun, legos, railroads, plastic kits. I love it all!
Exceptional build. Love it!
Thank you!
Great build. Like the way you keep things moving along in the video. Also like the simple style of construction and paint.
Thanks man, too bad YT has deleted some of the free music they offer, making some of my builds go silent in those parts.
Nice review and build. I agree that Revell has improved their game. Dave
Thanks a bunch Dave!
You did this just right. Excellent choices made in the mix. I'm going to check out my local Hobby Lobby and hopefully they have this one.
Thank you!

Thanks Jim!
Nice kit, another great build by you!
Thank you Peter!
You are spectacular.. to say the least
I'm "like WOW" WHAT A LESSON
Awesome build!
A cool model I can see as a model of the second '57 Ford as used in the movie 1958 "Thunder Road", with Robert Mitchum. Robert Mitchum's character, Like Doolin has a highway dual with Kogan's henchman and driver driving a Black '57 Ford. Thank you again, as after watching your excellent video, I'll be buying this kit.
thanks for posting watching your videos is almost as much fun as building the kit myself love the chanell
Thanks Alvin!
Really nice build, you still have fun building...something I forgot to do a long time ago.
Thanks!
It's all about the fun, even when we screw up.
You can gt it back, assemble a kit and don't sweat the tiny details, just relax and have a good time.
Another amazing build my friend. Keep up the great work and Rust In Peace.
Thank you Chopper!

Love the burnout decals you're the best bro
I think they are a cool addition, nice and fun! Thank you David!
That's Killer ! I did the wagon i need this 1 .... Fantastic Job Chris
Thanks, the wagon is another great kit.
SWEET 57' Gasser! I'm so impressed with that kit and the version you built here Chris, I just bought one on eBay right before posting my comment.
I have the wagon version and the AMT 57' Ford Hardtop "Flashback" kit. Both are still in the box on my shelves with the rest of my modest collection of kits until I get around to building those.
My current project is a 1/25 scale Peterbilt "California Hauler" with the AMT lowboy trailer and the new release of AMT's bulldozer kit by Round2 models but the re-release doesn't say "Caterpillar" cuz I guess there was a copyright issue from my understanding.
I have two custom kits for the Peterbilt, the AMT chrome Mercury sleeper and I got the Italeri truck accessories kit that has the hydraulic boom that is mounted behind the sleeper. I had to cut and extend the frame of the Pete to get all of that to fit but it all worked out I have one seriously mean lookin' heavy hauler rig with the lowboy and bulldozer for a sweet looking model kit.
Great kit nice job on the build thanks for showing your work your friend for canada Rob ✌

It will look awesome with the 57 Chevy with their front ends up in the air! You must have a Christmas tree. Great work!
That would be cool!
Outstanding job! Just might have to go out and buy one 😁
Thanks!
This gets me pumped for my 1:1 gasser build, got a lot more work to do though. Looking good Chris 🍻
Thanks Dale, get er done!
Very good job! I like the details you accented well. The green was the right choice in my book and the rim job was a smooth idea. I know this was strictly about the 57 Ford but would've looked sweet on pole position with the 57 Chevy. Thanks for the build.
"Real vibe man"
Thanks for the nice words Icenesis!
Really awesome build Chris love the green and white.
Thanks a lot Charlie!

That looks SWEET, Mr HPI! Gonna have to get this one! And yes, your French is pardoned.
Thanks!
Great looking model
Thank you!
Beaty of a gasser, one of my favorite builds that you have done. 👍👍
Thanks a lot!
Funny that yellow Willy's in the box art, I have that model. I built it as a hot rod instead of a gasser back in the mid 90's and a kit where everything opens up which you do not see anymore. Used a 53 corvette grill on it, fit perfectly too. This kit looks really nice and it too feels like a good kit to do a hot rod or "resto mod" as is coined now days.
Thanks!
Trés beau montage ...Congrest !!
Very good review Chris! While Gassers are not my type of building, I can certain appreciate the detail and techniques you use to build yours! 👍
‘57 Fords are one of those cars I can remember seeing when I first knew what a car was (early ‘60’s). A next door neighbor had one and I always thought the car had the appearance of looking up at you with those headlight “eyebrows”. 😁
Thanks for the review and now I’ll have to look out for this kit as I’d like to build the stock one sometime.
Thanks for watching!
Great job
Thanks!
