Telling other people that they are wrong about their own thoughts, feelings, motivations, and intentions is a very clear sign of verbal abuse. No one has access to someone else's inner world. That's nonsense.
My notes: Other churches feel the spirit sometimes - it comes and goes. You have it with you always. You just don’t feel it sometimes because you can’t be on fire all the time! That’s exhausting! (TLDR: it comes and goes) 🤔🤔
...which totally contradicts the point he makes when he says that we should all be glad that we don't feel "The Spirit" all of the time because it's just so powerful. So which is it Brother Wilcox? It is so subtle that we don't even know that it's always there? Or is it so powerful that we don't want to feel it all of the time? And if God really wants everyone to join his One True Church, why would he allow anyone else to ever feel it? When the kids are wearing bath-robes on Christmas Eve and singing Silent Night, and God is gracing them with The Spirit, wouldn't that reinforce to them that their religion is the right one? Apparently the Mormon God loves to send mixed messages and create all sorts of confusion. What is up with THAT?
I feel the spirit the same after leaving as when I was a devout Mormon. Don't let the fear of losing the spirit stop you from following your conscience and following the truth wherever it leads. It's good he acknowledges that people of other faiths feel the spirit. But I'd say the LDS "constant companionship" is not much different from spiritual experiences in other faiths. It ebbs and flows. And it's normal in a time of religious reexamination to have a wilderness experience, or a dark night of the soul, and then to question the usefulness or trustworthy-ness of our own spiritual experiences. For me, "the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace," etc. And the purpose is mainly to help us learn how to love. (Not so much to prove which church is true, as if there can only be one).
My experience has been the same as yours. In fact my joy is often more as I can appreciate people better now that I am not judging them as much. My life is so much richer.
I love my life now where I can change my beliefs and learn new things on my journey and not face social repercussions for it. That's healthy. That's how it should be.
Seriously creepy. The fact that he said you dont feel the spirit of the devil when little kids are in bathrobes....and then held that kids hand. Sure triggering for those of us who have dealt with sexual abuse from leadership.
Brad, you obviously know nothing about balloons. Fill one with helium, tie a knot and just wait a few days. The knot will still be there but the helium is long gone. If that is how the Spirit works, count me out.
This is so damn cringey.. How hard he is trying to be relevant and cool is pathetic! Hahaha, when I was 8 and getting baptized, my dress didn't go all the way under the water, and they debated for 10 minutes while I was wet and cold, whether or not I had to be re-baptized... I guess my knot didn't get tied. 😆😆😬😬... I'm so grateful for that!
This is definitely one of the weirdest culty things and a huge red-flag to me as I was growing up in The Church... This mind-set that if you didn't do the baptism exactly right, a nit-picky tight-ass God would nullify the whole thing... "Sorry, I was gonna bless you with the gift of the Holy Ghost, but I saw a tiny portion of your dress above water, so I'm sorry, but I can't do it now. The rules are the rules. She's all yours Satan!" {Satan is raising his clenched fist in victory... "Yes, I love it when they forget to tie the knots!!!"}
@Myles Markson OMG, I hated that day, too. I remember not really caring about getting baptized, but knowing I had to pretend to be excited. I wanted a Barbie doll, and I got a Bible with my name on it, in fancy writing.. biggest let-down!! 😆😆😆 The baptism couldn't save me, it never interested me, and I just tried my best to pretend I did care so my parents wouldn't know.
@@Im_AshParker Yes, I did them as a kid too. I remember thinking... "So, we're getting baptized for dead people that we never even knew? Nah, that's not the least-bit creepy. Sign me up!"
I hope this embarrassment is helping break the shelves of the adults behind him. This is beyond cringe
😂🤣
i cant believe times were in
Now he’s telling people how “they” feel. Is he psychic now? He is a scary man with scary behavior.
He reminds me of a scary clown.

Baptized at 8. Had my name removed at 30. No difference noticed, except maybe feeling better more often 🤷🏼♀️

"Whatever you're feeling now is when you have the spirit with you so don't leave or it'll feel much worse."
Definitely not a high control religion...
The arrogance meter is off the scale.
Trust me the feeling that you don't feel yet you are always feeling; thats the spirit and you don't want to ever loose it. Haha

Man this one is triggering. This was one of the scariest parts for me when I left Mormonism. And when I left... I felt no different. Lol
Other than free and overall at peace

If the Spirit helps us feel “comfortable” … the clearly what he is saying is from the devil. Im very uncomfortable.
Am I seeing literal hand wringing?
Head scratching and face palms for sure 🤣
This is for teenagers? I think we teach pre-school kids at a higher level than this; the condescension is great in this one.
In my vernacular, "balloon knot" means something veeeeery different 😬

"Well of course you felt the spirit!" Gaslighting the youth to not trust their own intuition
Why not just use an actual balloon instead of holding this young boys hands????
Especially with Covid going around
The guy wrapped his hand around the kids arm while he was standing with him. Jesus that was annoying and cringe.

That set off alarm bells.
Any wagers on future unsavory allegations coming Bro. Wilcox's way?
He gives me very creepy vibes.
The amount of manipulation in this clip palpable
Those poor kids

When he got Jake up. That was just creepy.
Each segment is getting deeper and deeper into 💩
I’m guessing homie doesn’t know what balloon knot means 😂💀😂💀

The people behind are like: Pleeeeeeeeease get me out of here! lol
That's all I can focus on in these videos. They all know they're dying faster by being there.
So true.
I wish the camera would pan the audience. How many showed up? How miserable do they look?
I'm sure they are grateful they are partially disguised.
His attempts to look like an apostle is just SOOOO cringey🤮 he creeps me out tbh
Lol!!!!!
I'm christian. I don't think mormons know what to do with christians The mormons stay far away from chirstians
Too much cringe even for a mormon youth devotional
This is strange
This guy gives me the creeps 😂
He’s so cringey!
