EFY really is Mormonism’s cult-camp for teens. There was so much manipulation and I did feel the “spirit” and associated that elevated emotion with the torture video they showed with beautiful music. Then being forced to bear my testimony ... sigh, at least my kids won’t have that experience.
Remember before the information age when Bruce R. McKonkie said “What does it matter if a few barking dogs snap at the heels of the weary travelers? ... The caravan moves on”. Well, today the "few barking dogs" continues to grown substantially while the group of "weary travelers" continue to thin. Wilcox struggles to explain to the youth why their journey needs to be tiresome when it can be exhilarating. Hats off to OSF for their work.
I wonder if these young people will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the contradictory versions of the First Vision; the lack of historical and archaeological evidence for the Book of Mormon; the true character of Joseph Smith and so much more? Or is this too much to ask?
In Korea they would have a stake building with about 5 people wondering in the entire Sunday. My experience was that the Korean people would join the church just to learn English and then never show up again. So his 40% number probably means just a few more people. Lol
Jackson makes a run for it as soon as he’s dismissed! Um fsy-efy ?? Don’t have to dance with everyone! $75?Never paid $450 to go to a church dance! People will come to hear the racism spewed directly from his lips related to his "apology" and will stay for the jaw dropping bigotry, sexism, and gaslighting. It's a glorious train wreck of Mormonism unchained. Strap in and see if you can maintain your sanity by the end.
It's cheaper because they no longer pay outside speakers but only CES salaried employees...so....church subsidization is not the full story of why its cheaper.

Lying for the Lord. Mormons are great on doing that.
A family-centered church that wants you to skip a family reunion to attend their cult camp.
"I had to give my testimony, IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER," this guy!
This comment wins!!!!
I’m interested in where he’s pulling the 150 thousand youth for this program vs 35 thousand for EFY.

How many attended? Empty pews don’t bother him - is that in general or this event specifically?
