Never thought watching a tea video would make me cry but this one did. When you guys were sitting on the porch together looking out over your beautiful place I started crying...... but when you reached for each other's hands, I completely lost it and couldn't hold back the fountain of tears that began flowing. Reminded me of my late husband and myself except we sat on the front porch swing. Wonderful memories for me. You guys are so special.
Bonnie Durham aww... didn’t mean to make you cry. But I’m so glad that it touched your heart and you were able to remember some old memories of you and you late husband! Thank you so much for your support! ❤️😊
Dear Bonnie, I understand just how you feel. I am in the same situation having lost my wife 9 years and we were together for forty years. Things we did, places we went, etc. Nothing will ever be the same. I know the thing is to carry on but it's easier said than done. Hang in there!
I was born in rural, farmland Philippines, moved to California in 07 and then moved to Idaho in 2011, I’ve been stuck in the busy and restricted life of a city man for so long that I never was able to see the beauty of the countryside and I was never truly able to see what America had to offer until a year ago. I was shocked to find it so similar back home, it is everything I’ve been missing in my life, some peace, simplicity and being a free man. If this is what it means to be an American, well I’m proud to be one, I am day by day catching up to the American dream, and sweet tea is one of em for me. Thank you!
That's awesome Gabriel you are enjoying yourself thank you for watching our videos. I have been to the Philippines, the subic bay area and Crow Valley.
👌👌👌 Born a California girl moved to TN/KY area and learned all about sweet tea. In California we do sun tea.....sit and let the bags steep all day in hot sun ☀️. Lipton’s was called poor mans tea but so good. Love Red Rose and any southern tea I can find now. Sweet tea and Diet Pepsi was my guilty pleasure every day. Then at 32 my heart went wacko and beat too fast. After a lot of tests and a week in hospital and a couple of shocks to get heart to beat right doctor said if I wanted a long life I had to STOP that black sugary tea and Pepsi. Always been thin and active but that scared me senseless. Once a week I may make it and have one glass with lemon slice and lots of ice. Never had another problem. But that tea and homemade lemonade after working and sitting on porch sets real well today. You see I wanted to make sure I was holding my mans hand just like the two of you and looking at all we’ve done all these years. And sipping one glass of that sweet sweet tea. Going on 49 years together and still loving the view and rocking with a nice breeze blowing. And the heart never better. It jus swells at the touch of his hand and fills up with a lot of love. Ya did good with this video. You’re a great team 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'm an Iranian dude and tea plays a major part in our day-to-day life loved the video. we have special and good looking pots for tea and you should look up the Iranian recipes and try saffron with your tea it'd blow your mind, TRUST. Much Love!
Thx for the info for making tea , loved the ending . We have been married 43 yrs and we still hold hands and tell each other we love you . God is the center of our life and makes a Hugh difference on how we treat each other . Love you guys 💕🇺🇸💕
I loved the ending of the video with you two in your chair, holding hands, and enjoying each other's company. Four years 40 plus years to go best friends and lovers. That iced tea look really good. I like mine with a sprig of mint and small sliced of lemon if I have it in the house.
Love Luzianne tea, but without sugar. When my husband was alive we would drink at least 2 gallons a day. We even put it in the same exact container! Good stuff
Put your sugar in while the tea is hot. Dissolves perfectly. I have been making tea for more than 60 years. Born in the south and lifetime southerner!!
The love y’all have for each other is so sweet my favorite part of the video was the end just watching y’all sitting on the porch drinking tea and holding hands😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Great share - thank you ! Tips from someone who's been drinking tea for 40+ years: - Use tea powder instead of tea bags to save $$$ - Add sugar to hot water on stove to skip stirring - Add a pinch of salt, so you can decrease the amount of sugar needed
I love all of the American flags around your house and backyard. You really show your patriotism and it’s awesome to see. Thank you for your service Jacob! I wish I had a cup of that cold ice tea right now as we are super hot here in California. Take care and God bless! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for the awesome video. I do my tea a little different, but I enjoyed the video none the less. The ending had me smiling from ear to ear so hard I nearly cried. That's awesome you have that on video now to look back on later. My husband and I are exactly the same. We sit side by side and hold hands all the time. We've been married 11 years on July 11th, and it still hasn't changed a bit. Enjoy every second together!
Best Tea Bags ever made! I use 6 bags too, but put them in after the water is a rolling boil. Insert tied tea bags, with tabs torn off, and let steep. Put sugar in the hot water, so sugar will melt. I use purified water because I hate the chemicals and chlorine taste.
I make my tea with Lipton, 12 bags let it steep, and only use 3/4 cup of Splenda, because of diabetes in my family. I find that the colder my tea gets, it is sweeter. Loved watching you and Jacob sitting on the porch just holding hands and enjoying the view. Much love from OHIO ❤️❣️❣️❤️
I grew up with Lipton, too. We’d bring a quart to boil and pour over the bags in something else (using those tabs to hang over the sides so we could get the bags back out easier, but would just wring the bags with a fork or something. Might want to get the staples out of the bags before you try and compost them, though.
Just visited Nashville because my son is going to Vanderbilt and I’ve been missing the sweet tea and the food 😪 I was never a sweet tea believer but I am now. ❤️❤️❤️
Nice Jacob.... And what a class act you are. Beautiful homestead, beautiful family and beautiful spirit. I wish the world had a lot more Alex's and Jacob's... God Bless the USA !!!!!
A glass of weak tea hurts my feelings 🙁 lol. I was spoiled growing up..my mom kept a gallon of sweet tea in the 'fridge year round. She would use a pan on the stove, too, and throw a bunch of bags in at boiling point, turn off the fire, cover and let steep 30-45 mins (if we could wait that long) and mix the sugar while it was still hot/warm. Then she did add some tap water. She used Lipton. Funny how we get serious about our brand of ice tea😁 Love to see ya'll share the tea makin, too. Yep, you make a great team👍🏼❤️God Bless
You have sweet tea making down to a science, I bet it is good! I just ordered the tea bag squeezer you use, thanks for showing it. I use Stevia Raw in my sweet tea because I am diabetic and I drink about half a gallon a day. I switched over to Cold brew decaf last summer. I fill a half gallon mason jar with water, stick two bags in it over night and when I take the bags out the next day I add the Stevia and I am good to go!
Here in AZ you'll drive by numerous houses and see gal jugs of sun tea!!! Ppl put the jugs out in the morning & bring it in when they come home from work. The glass jugs get so hot that you might need hot mitts. We put it in a sink of tap water to help cool it down. This is when sugar and/or honey gets added!!! You're so gracious and loving ❤ 💕 💗 together and for one another!!! Seeing you ❤ 😘 💕 ♥ reachh for her hand and closing out the evening sitting on the porch, sipping ice tea, enjoying the view 👌 With the beautiful 😍 💕 Grand 'Ol Flag flying!!!!
Now that's some real American living right there.... I love it! Sweet tea with your sweetie looking out across your land.. Flag blowing proudly.. Yes sir! GOD bless..
That's all I drink sweet tea...I make a gallon tea every day or so...I let it come to boil then simmer for 5 minutes ...goodcdark sweet tea...thank you Jacob...love yr flags all over. We fly our fly. My husband is a Vietnam vet. We are very patriotic..God Bless you and Alex...God Bless Our Country Yes let it set and soak....best tea ever!!!!
😢 My mother would be so proud of you thank you for sharing the proper way to make my mother's tea but there's always a butt My mother would agree with you Lipton tea is the only tea to make sweet southern tea. I shared your video with my buddy in Norway they were having a debate about hot tea and sweet southern tea I am in the process of making him a care package with all the ingredients needed lol thank you again enjoyed your video immensely. God bless you and your family
2 - 2 1/2 cups of sugar to the gallon. Add sugar to container. Bring kettle to boil and throw in tea bags, take off heat. Luzianne is the best. Let steep. Pour in tea from kettle in container and mix. Continue adding cold water to kettle and tea bags and pour in container until full. Mix. Chill and enjoy.
Don't want to burst anyones bubble, but this Brit stopped drinking Tea a long time ago. l only drink water and hot chocolate. My favourite part of this video was watching you both hold hands now that is what l call sweet, so nice to see. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
I keep my composting stuff in an old bread bag and in the freezer until the bread bag is full. That's when I take it to the composter. No nasty smell and old bread bags are easy to come by. Also, the material is broken down when frozen so they compost quicker once thawed in the composter. It's perfect.
I like strong tea too. But I use pure white stevia powder...one teaspoon for a gallon, and it's SWEET! And it doesn't have any calories. Processed with just stevia leaves and water, no additives and no chemicals.
We usually make sun tea Put bags in gallon jar then set out in good sunny spot and leave it there . Its good idea to hsve 2 jars to rotate usually set all day in sun water get pretty hot just in the sun
I agree with you, I choose Lipton's over Luzianne. What would be the icing on the cake is a slice of lemon and a mint leaf. Awe yeah.....ok, now I gotta get up and go make some tea. See how you are! LOL I enjoyed your video, and the ending was sweet. You two really have worked hard and have such a beautiful place to show for it. :::::waving from north Texas:::::
Y’all weren’t joking when you said you like SWEET tea! 🤣 I’m a Lipton girl. Grew up using 7 bags (I think) per gallon until we changed over to the family sized bags. Used 2 family size but now I add a couple extra regular sized bags. One of those family sized bags is decaf thou. And I use less sugar than y’all. I have always had a scoop that stays in my sugar canister. Thought I used to use about 1 1/2 cups sugar but then measured & each scoop is only half a cup & I used 2 scoops. In the last year I’ve cut that back to only a single scoop per gallon. It’s easy to cut back the sugar amount if you just reduce it a little at a time.
You weren’t kidding about your tea! lol I’m like the only Southerner that doesn’t like tea😂😂 I do make it for my husband and kids, though! With lots of sugar! 😁
I'm from Missouri the three thing's we take seriously here is GOD, Sweet Tea, and BBQ. Our families agree you can't substitute these three things. Ever
"I like to live on the edge" (without a funnel) Funny!!! 😂Haven't made tea with bags in a long time. Very similar to the way my mom made tea. Great memories! I still have the stainless pan she used. I'm getting some bags today! Awesome video! Thanks y'all! 👍👍
I did not cry at the end, i work security you see and i just helped a police officer detain a trespasser on property and it built up a sweat and sweat got in my eyes is all i wasn't crying. Great vid.
My Mom when we were growing up which was a very long time ago would boil water and then add Lipton tea grounds. She would let it sit for awhile and then strain it into a pitcher and add a lot of sugar. The best tea I have ever drank! Love y’all’s videos !
You are brave tackling the great sweet tea debate. Sounds like a good one to me. I make mine with Earl Grey tea, just to be different since I live in Canada,

Try to drink decaf, it’s not as good as original tea but better than nothing :)
Loved the end with you guys sitting there holding hands drinking your tea
I was gonna say that. They are so sweet❤️
Me too!
Rockin on the front porch with a glass of cold sweet tea. That's a piece of heaven right there. It'll never grow old, I hope.
