Thank you so much for this recipe! I had never been able to really enjoy drinking tea until I tried this recipe. It’s definitely worth the 8+ hours of waiting! It makes it really “smooth” and the tea doesn’t “taste bitter” at all. I would highly recomend this recipe!!
I would use honey as a sweetener from a farmer's market, i am a big fan of ice tea so i will try this with my indian green tea, it's really great quality tea so it should make great ice tea.
So refreshing!! I have been making my own iced tea since I was a teen. But using your recipe with the cold water 😍💕💕! What a difference! I never thought it could be made without hot water! ❤❤❤Thank you for listing the containers you used!
Once you get the knack, the possibilities are endless. Green tea, black tea, orange pekoe tea w black ....so many great ones. I've used brown sugar, maple syrup besides traditional sweeteners. Monk fruit is one of my favorite sweeteners.
Thank you for this recipe! I've been trying and failing all this time to make a decent iced tea and I realized that my biggest issue was me heating up the tea instead of steeping it in cold water. Thank you so much!
I make Southern Ice Tea. Using 2 Lipton bags in my percolator coffee pot after perching I pour the tea into my pitcher. Then I add cold water making one gallon of tea. Sometimes I will add two bags of Herbal Peach tea bags with the Liptons tea bags. Never cloudy or bitter so good it will curl your toes!
Stevia is a Godsend to those of us desperate for a sweetener without a chemical aftertaste or has long term use issues, clouding our trust in its consumption.
This was straight to the point even to the precise measure of the Stevia per 8oz. of tea. I knew there was a method of making tea without heating the water. Thank you.
I am from the south but I still drink unsweet tea. Sweet tea is a recipe for high blood sugar. My favorite recipe is making one gallon at a time using eight green tea bags and eight Earl Bigelow spearmint/peppermint flavored tea bags and then if desired I add peppermint flavored stevia drops to taste. Enjoy your videos!
I've been making ice tea with hot water for years & it tastes okay to me but I will definitely try at room temperature water & leave overnight or for 8 hrs like you said.
Clod brew is the way to go. However, no need to put it in the fridge, let it steep at room temp for up to 1hr and you get the same result. Also for a big batch okay fine go with tea bags to save on money but for yourself go with loose leave, it makes a nice improvement in flavor.
Thanks for this! My dietician recently told me to avoid sugary iced tea from the local grocery stores and iced tea is my favourite drink. Your recipe seems much more healthier and yummy too. 😊
Thank you. I used to make the best iced tea with boiled water but can't seem to now. It is just too bitter. This gives me hope! Also great to do when in RV! Fantastic!

thank you ....i recently purchased plastic pitcher with a removable mesh basket to make cold brews, intended for cold brew coffee, but I will try it with tea now
I tasted iced tea for the first time at Chuck E cheese, i have been craving it since then. It feels so good to know that I can make mine at home. Thank you very much 👍👍❤❤❤
I've been cold brewing tea forever. Gives it a cleaner taste. Also, not all stevia are the same. I find some brands gives off a bitter chemical taste. Since tea doesn't have a strong flavor you can really taste it. I'm thinking of switching over to monk fruit sweetener.
I do mine a lot different than you do. I fill up a large pitcher with hot h20. Then I add my teabags and lemon, then let it sit out for only 2 1/2 hrs. Then I place it in the frig. It lasts about 3 days, I'm a big tea drinker. Then I do it all over again.
I use to drink ice tea because it was always served at family meals. We had this joke in our family that tea is either Baptist tea or Methodist tea. My dad grew up in a Baptist Church and their family always drank very strong tea. My mom grew up in a Methodist church and her family drank tea that was very light and more watered down. Hence the joke Baptist or Methodist tea. 😂
I do mine the same way. But NEVER squeeze the tea bags. Just lift them out, let them drain a few seconds into the container & discard. I use a half gallon canning jar.
I agree about not squeezing; it puts more tannins in the tea, tasting bitter. I have been making concentrated iced tea and I always add just a pinch of baking soda to offset any bitterness.
Great tips - i didnt realise i could cold brew 🤗 gamechanger thanks👍🏻 we are going to try it with loose tea leaves and pour the tea thru a strainer as we try to avoid the polypropylene soaking out of tea bags 🌻
Wow i had no idea you could do a cold brew - this is much easier than hot brewed tea! my world has changed lol- i’ll be making tea this way from now on 💡😁
I liked the positive energy there. but... There is a good reason why it states on the package to use boiling water. Tea leaves do not get sterilised after drying/fermenting, and are often heavily contaminated with bacteria. I would hesitate to call unboiled black/green tea foodsave. (Ok. Not nessesarily boiled, but heated above at least 70°C for a certain amount of time) Granted, the odds of actually getting sick are slim. But why even take the risk? If you want a less harsh taste, then remove the teabags earlyer, or use teabags that have been in boiling water before. (People actually doublepour tea leaves. and serious tea tasting actually sometimes involves discarting the first pour alltogether) Or even better: try a different Blend. There are litterally endless varations on tea. Most of them won't even give you dysentery if prepared properly.
The way I make my iced tea is i just boil a bunch of water then take it off the heat and put the tea bags in letting it steep for about 6 minutes and then stir in a few tablespoons of honey. Then put it in swing top bottles with a few slices of lemon and let it sit overnight in the fridge. It's amazing and everything has been sterilised. You can also control the taste/bitterness of the tea way easier because your doing it all before it's even chilled.
I brew a couple of tea bags in boiling water to extract as much of the tea taste as possible into what is a very strong brew and I also add some mint leaves and the pour into a jug and add more cold water. Then I add some lime juice and lime slices. I add ice before pouring the cold drink left overnight. I will try it without boiling water to see if that makes a difference. I don't mind the bitterness, but perhaps I might like it more without it. I never add any sweeteners. To me iced tea is a substitute for plain water, not sodas or juices.
Dani thanks for this video, I can't wait to try it! I saw this video pop up and thought, iced tea on clean and delicious, surely it doesn't have 2 cups of sugar in it like mines does! Will be trying the stevia idea. Also would have never thought to steep tea cold. Great tip.

Microwave a cup of water till boiling. Add whatever amount of sugar you like and stir until clear. Let cool all the way either in fridge or to room temperature. Hey Dani...I’ve tried stevia before, liquid and tablets but they taste HORRIBLE. Is there a stevia option you know of that taste close to regular sugar? I tried to force myself to get used to it but I just can’t. PS Because of you and Mind Over Munch I finally tried almond butter when I found it on sale-love it! And I don’t know why but if I made a peanut butter sandwich, to feel satisfied (wether it’s my imagination or not) I’d have to make a sandwich and a half, so, three pieces of bread, buncha peanut butter. I can toast a good grainy slice of bread, some almond butter on top while it’s warm and I’m good! Now that I know it’s worth it I don’t feel bad for sacrificing to get it in my grocery shopping. It’s a small thing but I’m trying.❤️
I like this brand - > amzn.to/2Nmi09V I think some may be more bitter than others, so it's definitely a personal preference. And yay!! So glad you tried the almond butter - it's SO good. And I adore Mind over Munch!!
You could also freeze some tea instead of water to use as ice cubes so that you can take that sweet time drinking that glass without risking the integrity of the tea.
Awesome! I too like making my iced tea with Earl Gray! My super secret way to sweeten & bring iced tea to another level, is to use a high quality Italian Lemon Granita! 1 tablespoon per cup. I promise you, you won’t ever look back.
I use a Mr Coffee teamaker with hot water. But my secret is that I use 2 coffee filters with about 4 tea bags as the tea is brewing!!! Not cloudy and very delicious!!!!!

I'm from SC I've never used earl grey tea and I don't know anyone who doesn't sweeten their tea with Dixie Crystal sugar lol.
Her recipes are more healthy style, sugar isn't something she uses and Earl Grey is amazing
Right?! I've never had tea without Dixie Crystal sugar. But I am trying to be a little healthier so i'll try it with the stevia.
skye fraiser What is Dixie Crystal sugar?
@@islandgirl9166 it's extra fine sugar that dissolves easily into drinks 😊

Awesome! I too like making my iced tea with Earl Gray!
My super secret way to sweeten & bring iced tea to another level, is to use a high quality Italian Lemon Granita!
1 tablespoon per cup.
I promise you, you won’t ever look back.
I immediately sub cause you're pretty, and straight to the point, no long intros
I use a Mr Coffee teamaker with hot water. But my secret is that I use 2 coffee filters with about 4 tea bags as the tea is brewing!!! Not cloudy and very delicious!!!!!
Great tip! Thanks so much for sharing.
