    UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 2024: This video was published before 48GB DDR5 memory modules were available - according to the ASUS specs page, this motherboard now supports up to 192GB of RAM with 4x 48GB DDR5 memory modules. In addition, "Zen 5" Ryzen 9000 series processors and "Zen 4" Ryzen 8000 APUs are now supported with a BIOS update that is available for download from ASUS's official website.

      @@ALKtech What I don't get is why they don't cut corners on things that really aren't needed, like onboard WiFi. Need WiFi in your build? Great... go buy a card or USB dongle then. Why is this included, adding to the bill of materials and thus the mobo cost, but something like an M.2 heatsink which you'd actually need for most SSDs out there (unless you want them to overheat) isn't?! It makes no sense... just like AM5 mobo prices in general having pretty much doubled from AM4 for the same feature set make no sense

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@gehtdichnixan1337 actually ASUS does make a non-WIFI variant of this board - the TUF GAMING A620M-PLUS (non-WIFI), which should be a couple bucks cheaper I'm guessing. But fair points - I guess ASUS could have scaled back on say, the "gamer" designs and motifs, and perhaps redeployed the savings to having a simple M.2 heatsink instead. Would have definitely set it apart from the rest of the competition!

Actually, Intel's next-gen Core Ultra 200S processors are launching in two days' time - if you're not in a rush, I suggest waiting a bit more as chances are, prices on previous gen AMD and Intel CPUs might drop further...but that said, the 7900 XT will work with this A620M motherboard. However, if you have the budget for it, I'd personally spend abit more and get a better B650 motherboard so that you have more future overhead to upgrade to a more powerful AM5 processor!

      Seeing as this board has been on sale for some time and retailers could be holding on to older stock, it's hard to say whether or not the board that you purchase will come with the latest BIOS version onboard..in any case, you've got the BIOS FlashBack feature that allows BIOS updates without a CPU/RAM/graphics card installed!

      @ALKtech  2 месяца назад

      Hey there, do you already have this setup up and running? While I wouldn't recommend an A620 board for a 7800X3D, you might still get by seeing as this ASUS board is a more "premium" A620 board with better VRM cooling. I must caveat that I haven't personally had the chance to use a 7800X3D with an A620 motherboard thus far, so your mileage might vary. Would be interesting if any of the folks in the comments section could share their experiences if they have a similar setup!

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you're looking at getting an A620 board, I wouldn't get any of the X-series CPUs (e.g. 7700X, 7800X3D etc) as you'd potentially be leaving performance on the table due to the weaker VRMs found on A620 boards. If you're getting say a Ryzen 5 7600 or Ryzen 7 7700, you could probably still pair them with a mid-range GPU, such as a 4070 or a RX 7700 XT to have a decent 1440p gaming rig. My two cents!

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  Год назад +1

      A 7500F will work perfectly fine with this board, given its 65W TDP! If you have the cash to spare for a B650 board though, I'd definitely look at a B650 board instead for more upgrade headroom in the future, especially since AMD has committed to releasing its next-gen processors (e.g Ryzen 8000) on the same AM5 socket! Is there a big price difference where you're from for this board versus say, the MSI/Gigabyte B650 boards that you mentioned?
