Great Video. I've just bought the B650-E WIFI version of this board, and got it installed in my first new build for several years. However, I've been let down by the firm I've ordered the CPU and GPU off, as they haven't shipped them yet so I can't complete my build. The major differences seem to be a different mix of USB ports on the I/O plate, giving 3 x USB 2.0 Type A (one with Bios Flashback), 3 x USB 3.0 Type A, 1 x USB 3.2 Type A and only 1 USB 3.2 Type C. There's also a revised layout of M.2 sockets and SATA ports, and no supplied heatsink for the 2nd and 3rd M.2s. All this for £155. Apart from some cosmetic differences the rest appears to be the same as the version you have presented.
Whenever I happen to like a brand and think "Those are the good guys" I always hear about some major fuck up they did at some point. And they changed their behaviour not cause of moral reasons, but cause of the shitstorm and cause they are scared of losing potential sells. May it be Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Asrock, u name it. I only found out about EVGA when it was way too late sadly. But hey, this is a nice board, Asus got scared shitless due to their horrible customer service being published, so it might be worth buying. Its just that, I would feel so bad supporting such behaviour by buying something from them, so I avoid them for a few generations 😅 But not everyone cares or watches a lot of hardware stuff. Thanks for the nice review!
for me the first things i look at are pricing, features, reliability and then things like the companies RMA process and lastly the companies track record. Go along a long enough time line and all companies drop the ball at some point, they are all bastards really and don't care about us at all, just money in the bank
Was looking at the b650e-f for my first ever pc build but this is nearly £100 cheaper atm, what should i do? Will the gen 5 gpu slot be worth it for the future?

@@mikesunboxing we used to have that compUSA place back in the day kinda... So anything I want computer related I have to order and have delivered. I don't mind it really but you know those specials and stuff like that oh it kills me every time I see one of them stupid in store only microcenter deals ! But that was a great one somebody posted it on Slickdeals that's how I knew about it... I just bought a 5600g motherboard and a 2tb SSD (that supposedly can do 7400 read 6,800 right which I'll believe when I see it) But I much Rather would have had that 6000 memory kit dude... What I really like about this particular tuf board tho is it as the PCie 5.0 You really can't beat that for that price... The problem is though those drives get extremely hot and most of them are not dependable right now so in a way I'm going to wait anyway... I don't think it'll be too long before I end up building a new kit anyway cuz with the prices of CPUs being high The ones I like right now are going to be a lot lower as soon as the next generation is released and I know both AMD and Intel are working on that hard. Right now Intel has some serious cooling issues... It's not just the drives that are on fire (so to speak basically) The CPUs get really hot too I don't know if I want something running that hard in my room adding heat to it cuz I live in a warm place basically a tropical environment. On the plus side though I picked up a cool 27-in ASrock 240 hz monitor fer like 130 bucks and a cheap desk for 60 so I'm pretty damn happy regardless. I can't believe though I can't really use the 3000 Kingston kit it was so beautiful (rgb) I mean initially I'll use it but I'm going to replace the memory pretty quick probably... I can't imagine the performance gains 3k -6k if I had seen this board sooner I probably would have bought it instead. Thanks for the video by the way it was great

hey again mike, new sub (today!) and got here from your b650m pro rs review. this has to be one of the few 3m2 mobos with 2 of them on the cpu lane. i'm now considering this one instead of the pro rs because m2_2 and m2_3 are both 4x4 while the 3rd m2 on the rs is only 4x2 (also the rs is mAtx and the gpu will almost certainly cover m2_2 which will be a small nuisance to deal with if i wanna transfer data and take it out since i gotta also remove gpu then) my main concern is now can i fully access all m2 slots on the tuf gaming or is there potential for the cpu cooler to block m2_1 while the gpu may cover m2_2 and m2_3? i'm probably going with the 7700 wraith prism which should be fine and i just from looking at it i also presume there is enough space under gpu to access both m2_2 and m2_3 without having to remove it (i own a 3060ti eagle 2 fan so it's not so fat and i don't really plan to get thick cards in the future) side question if i install prism software to turn off argb i can safely remove the usb fan cable after right, just for aesthetic purposes since it will save the configuration directly in the cooler controller (i read smth about this online). thanks in advance

And also hearing about ethernet and wifi issues and USB overvolt etc... Could you calm me down and reassure me the motherboard is still a good purchase? Other than tuning the RAM to 6000~6200 cl28/30 with subtimings I'm not going to do much maybe undervolt the CPU a bit and call it a day. But when manually tuning all the subtimings you end up doing reboots like a 100 times and hearing about 90 second boot up times sounds horrid.
Hope you get the rest of your parts soon and get to enjoy your new pc

Whenever I happen to like a brand and think "Those are the good guys" I always hear about some major fuck up they did at some point. And they changed their behaviour not cause of moral reasons, but cause of the shitstorm and cause they are scared of losing potential sells. May it be Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Asrock, u name it. I only found out about EVGA when it was way too late sadly.
But hey, this is a nice board, Asus got scared shitless due to their horrible customer service being published, so it might be worth buying. Its just that, I would feel so bad supporting such behaviour by buying something from them, so I avoid them for a few generations 😅
But not everyone cares or watches a lot of hardware stuff. Thanks for the nice review!
for me the first things i look at are pricing, features, reliability and then things like the companies RMA process and lastly the companies track record. Go along a long enough time line and all companies drop the ball at some point, they are all bastards really and don't care about us at all, just money in the bank

@@mikesunboxing It has 1 PCIE gen 5 m.2 slot though...When the M.2_1 slot is running in pcie 5.0 x4 mode, does it then cause the gpu slot to go from pciex16 to pciex8? some other motherboards have this limitation. Can be checked in GPUZ.

hey again mike, new sub (today!) and got here from your b650m pro rs review. this has to be one of the few 3m2 mobos with 2 of them on the cpu lane. i'm now considering this one instead of the pro rs because m2_2 and m2_3 are both 4x4 while the 3rd m2 on the rs is only 4x2 (also the rs is mAtx and the gpu will almost certainly cover m2_2 which will be a small nuisance to deal with if i wanna transfer data and take it out since i gotta also remove gpu then)
my main concern is now can i fully access all m2 slots on the tuf gaming or is there potential for the cpu cooler to block m2_1 while the gpu may cover m2_2 and m2_3? i'm probably going with the 7700 wraith prism which should be fine and i just from looking at it i also presume there is enough space under gpu to access both m2_2 and m2_3 without having to remove it (i own a 3060ti eagle 2 fan so it's not so fat and i don't really plan to get thick cards in the future)
side question if i install prism software to turn off argb i can safely remove the usb fan cable after right, just for aesthetic purposes since it will save the configuration directly in the cooler controller (i read smth about this online). thanks in advance

Hello Mike! Could you please advice asap?! Alixpress sales finishing up in 8 hours and I'd like to go with b650 / 7800x3d. Wanna get the msi b650 edge, which I saw you previously reviewed. I'm fond of memory manual tuning and Hynix A-Die kit but I'm reading horrid stories of people with extremely slow boot up times, i.e. just going from 4800 to 5600 to 6000 increases boot time.
On my Z790 Tomahawk, I'm impressed with boot up times even after a cmos reset or applying a new config.
Boot times can be reduced quite a bit with bios updates and context restore etc. 30 seconds or so to get to windows desktop is pretty common now
