    Thanks a lot for this well explanation! What's so interesting is that duration and quality of sleep is mainly influenced indirectly by how we spend our daytime. Good sleep in return has then a positive impact on how our days go. An upward spiral so to say...

    Takeaways for sleeping less & meditating more:
    1. Stay light (eat raw)
    2. Yog asana (exercise)
    3. Meditation
    4. Fasting
    5. Avoid heavy foods
    6. Satsang (good company)
    7. Let go of worries & fears by surrender (kirtan, offer thoughts & feelings to universal consciousness)
    8. Vigorous exercise (tandav)
    Positive outlook towards life, abundance mentality, openness & friendliness towards others & embrace lifes problems.

    After many years of Meditation and Yoga practice, I have reduced my need for sleep to 3 hours per night. Usually from 1am to 4am. Upon arising, I drink a large glass of cool water. I then have walking meditation until sunrise, then begin my day. Namaste to all who yearn for Awakening during this Kali-yuga.

    Surely sleep is better than meditation. Sleep is totally natural and Gods way of refreshing and healing mind and body. If I wake up at 5am to meditate i just fall asleep anyway. Best advice is "bed by 11 up at 7". That said I know people who sleep only 4 to 6 hours and have lots of energy. They don't meditate or do yoga they just conditioned their body due to neccesity. I will try your routine now for 90 days with an open mind.

    • @himanshugaur3836

      Your body will adapt to less sleep, but eventually lack of sleep will take its toll.

    • @himanshugaur3836
      @himanshugaur3836 5 лет назад +3

      The purpose of sleep is to give rest to the body for recovery. By mediation, your body goes into deep restful state and after that it doesn't need that much sleep to recover fully.

    • @retribution999
      @retribution999 5 лет назад +2

      There is nothing worse than having to fight through the day due to lack of sleep and not being able to function properly. Also do I really want to get that droopy eyed look and big bags under my eyes from lack of sleep? No! I think that the people who advocate this kind of practice have left the real world, they live in communes, dont have normal jobs or normal responsibilities. Science says we need 7 to 8 hours sleep a night and my own experience confirms this. I wish it were not true.

      @@retribution999 well i know what ever u said was right
      But temperature plays a significant role in ur sleeping time
      If u r from a cold country then becoz of really cool breeze ur body's metabolism increases really high to maintain minimum body temperature
      And u start feeling really tired and restless at the end of the day
      Here in India we can maintain our body temperature without increasing metabolism
      Hence we r not tired as much as u ppl generally feel
      We dont need that much of sleep (8hrs) unless pregnant....
      I sleep for 5 hrs do yoga nd function energetically whole day (we've been one of the most sleepless countries in this world)
      What i mean is
      Some statements need not 2 be applicable for everyone
      Good day

    Very informative thank you. I am particularly interested in the clarity that the mind benefits from during the early hours. I had not considered this before, but you are absolutely right. It is so much easier to achieve a calm focus during the 4-6 am period and this is better than sleep. Thank you 🙏
