All good adventures start with "A guy called me the other day."
Yup, and the story always gets really good when somebody says "Come to find out....."
"Come to find out... that was a GRAVE!"
"Come to find out... he didn't mean 4 HUNDRED, he meant 4 THOUSAND!"
"Come to find out... .she was still married!"
Was it not Gandalf who phoned Bilbo with a request to "Check out this dragon's garage; it's got a ton of garbage but I'm sure there's like ONE hidden treasure in there"
Arkanoid is one of my absolute favorites from my childhood. I played it constantly on my Commodore 128/64. Ah, the days booting from a 5” floppy disc.
Power supply power supply power supply!! Wonder if that's the case with my Cadillac Joe? Or the fact that it's just after 4am on a Saturday and I'm half asleep 🥱
Probably the Alternator
@@LyonsArcadeI'm Ark annoyed I didn't think of that 😒
@@LyonsArcadeI figured out what's wrong with it..steering wheel on the wrong side..come on people it goes on the right hand side..come on now
Don't blame you for keeping that one, it looks great.
That overlay looks fantastic. Szabo is very meticulous and a great resource for art work! I have an Arkanoid in my arcade and it is one of my favorites. The music that plays when you enter a high score is my favorite! Nicely done Joe! Looking and playing like a Boss!
WOW! That reveal with the new overlay! 😎 From zero to hero that looks fantastic! 😃 Another good one and thanks as always for bringing us along! Heck yeah that's a keeper! ☺
Stunning looking machine that overlay does the busines.
This is one of the very few cocktails that I prefer over a stand up. I'd have to swap the spinner and the button though, that setup never made sense to me. Nicely done, Joe!
Hell yeah! That looks SLICK now. What a save!
The overlay and the full size monitor look good enough to eat!
That polished up very nicely! Looks brand new.
Thanks Ken!
Looks great. I would have kept it too.
A guy must be a fan of Vice Grip Garage...😉
Blueprint was a fun game, but tough. You should do a video on that if you have one.
Was wondering if anyone would catch that
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Man, that fan has a lot of power. Keep fingers away. LOL Thanks for posting this.
Blue Print must have been a rare game. I visited a large number of arcades in the '80s and '90s but I've never heard of that one.
You are literally correct. The Stamper brothers who were behind the development of the game eventually founded Rare in 1985.
I remember blueprint
Loved it
To bad it’s rare I would buy it
I can regularly break 200K on the standard Arkanoid but getting 80K on the Tournament version is an achievement for me. Tough game!
And that's one of the nicest arcade overlays I've seen, I had no idea the cocktail version had artwork like that.
Great machine Joe!
You, Ron, & Donnie should have a Arkanoid playoff, & the winner can play Shane! A fair match!
I liked Arkanoid, but was not good at it. But, I could play a good game of Super Breakout on the old Atari 2600.
Hello From Phoenix Arizona 🌡 🔥
There is no beating Shane at Arkanoid.
Tournament Arkanoid was only released in the US. It's identical to the original game except for the stage layouts and their increased difficulty. It never had a console or computer port (except in emulation) so it's much harder to find than the original.
Good Afternoon Joe.
Good Afternoon!
Howdy Joe. I hope ya'll are doing well,
Well I gotta say Joe, I'm very glad to hear that ya'll are still gonna be here making Arcade game repair videos, I'd be lost without ya'lls know how when it comes to fixing these Classic Arcade games 😂 but seriously I've learned a lot watching ya'lls videos, keep it up, Stay safe, God Bless and game on my Friends 🕹
Me and my buddy from Canada both watch Joes Classic Video Games!
@BigMoonArcade Hey ! Howdy my Friend, glad to hear from you, well you can add another Canadian Friend to your list, even though I'm already subscribed to your channel too, but I'm up here in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 we've talked several times, you've given me adive on new controllers to purchase for my latest Classic Arcade games and cabinet 👍
Deoxit d5 works great on jumpy controls like those hose em down run em back and forth a few times wipe off excess good for a few years.
I know exactly what’s wrong with this machine. It’s broke. I really enjoy the videos and the dry sense of humor. Keep them coming.
That turned out really nice. Of course you'd want that in your game room :)
Hey I have a Ms. Pac cocktail table that was converted into an Arkanoid that looks exactly like the one you have! Owned it for about 20 years, I always figured it was a one off so it's cool to see a very similar one. Your's looks fantastic with the new underlay, I may have to pick one of those up as well. Cheers
PUNCHING THE AIR. MAN I WANTED ONE OF THESE.
You unbroke it beautifully
A cocktail with no glass is wild to me. Why would they do that?!
It Broke!
I always thought that the cocktail cabinets at Pizza Hut had much better sound fidelity.
Joe! I am bummed that you didn’t show any of your work, only after you were done. I would’ve liked to have seen the power supply being hooked up, the Monitor chassis being put together, and how you burned the ROM’s and installation and seeing how you did that.
I never knew arkanoid was released for cocktail tables too
Only once in my life have I ever seen a Double Donkey Kong cabinet with the marquee. For those who do not know, Double Donkey Kong is a modified DK Jr PCB that also plays the original DK. Just like what was done to this Arkanoid board. With DDK, to switch the game, all you had to do was press both start buttons at the same time. But not during gameplay or you will lose your credit.
Fun fact, Night of The Lepus was filmed in Ajo Arizona! 😂 Watch out for the killer bunnies. Janet Leigh and DeForest Kelley were in it...
You may be A Joe but the town is pronounced Ahh-ho. 😛
Had forgotten about this game, might have to add it to my list of wants!
Turned out nice
Always look forward to your uploads. Well done!
That little CRT wants to play Arkanoid for the rest of it's life, just not in the cocktail cabinet as you said. Might last a while like that!
I remembered what the hippie said! I was surprised.
Hey Joe!!
Hey Jason!
I was gonna say the artwork shows what all the power pills do. Yeah, that was a game I played and lost a lot of quarters playing at the arcades.
Arkanoid in a Midway cocktail is a sweet looking combination. Too bad about the original Blueprint, but at least they put a good game in it.
Challenge Ron to a game lol
In two player mode. Joe vs Ron: head to head.
Very nice!
Wow !!! That overlay ! Beautiful! Nice job Joe , I can see why you’re putting that one in your game room ! It’s definitely a keeper ! Great video 👍
Wow, Nice job on this one Joe! That game came out looking amazing! I hope you and your kids have lots of fun with it in your game room.
Great, I didn't know the game had shooting
Just insane that this game and 9000 other games can all fit on a device the size of a deck of cards running off a usb phone charger.
Awesome
It seems the hippy and Joe are right it's broke power to the people 😅😊
Thumbs down. I was never served a cocktail or even offered a cocktail for the entire duration of this video. Unsubbed. Clickbait. Signed; Thirsty.
I never remember Hippie saying it’s the power supply
The only thing he would say to me is
“You going to Bogart that?”
Sounds like Joe is going to Bogart that game all to him self and his kids
I would do the same thing Joe
Neither would I.. schweet heart👁
Back in the early '90s there was an Applebee's restaurant near my house that had a cocktail game that may have been Arkanoid or a clone, but it had a 2-player Vs. mode. One of the main features of the game was that if you hit the ball while the paddle was moving fast, you would be able to impart actual spin on the ball, making the pathway curve and arc through the playfield. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the game or if it was an actual Arkanoid version. I can't find any info on an Arkanoid-like game with the spin feature. Has anyone heard of this?
I believe that may have been Atari's "Off the Wall", I had a cocktail version of that once in my living room...
@@LyonsArcade Holy potatoes! That's the one! Thank you!!!
"I know EXACTLY what's wrong with this machine... It's broke." 4:33 😆🤣😂 Great video Joe! PS: Got a sale price for this cab? Looking to eventually buy one to practice on, so I can get my WR back (currently in 2nd w/1,466,460).
Where do you get your new cocktail glass?
Should have kept the original regulator board because... power supply, Power Supply!, POWER SUPPLY!!
Where can I buy arcade cabs in Canada. Is there a store venue like yours in these neck of the woods ?
Heh. I've seen a Monaco GP converted to Arkanoid... and the arcade who owns it, they all say they would prefer it that way. Guess they never played Monaco GP on original hardware... (well at least it's a genuine Taito board, not a bootleg) (my local arcade has three Monaco GPs and I fixed them all - we didn't know that the first one was broke, it just had some minor sound issues, but back then we didn't have two more for checking how they should sound).
Another sad thing - Arkanoid has been ported to anything and everything, Monaco GP isn't even emulated yet (afaik) because all discrete logic chips, no CPU.
The FAN sounds like. Your running a JET engine.
That's the kind you want hah
Looks like it has cutouts for extra speakers and is the fan 120v ac or 24v dc
120v
at least it didn't get converted like my cocktail
Galaxian>quiz wiz (8 buttons) still working on it. .
.(fade)
(fade up) game working. if only world worked like edits.
Amazing how you transform tatty into fantastic
Might be a dumb question, but can burn in on a CRT ever be fixed?
No but tinted plexiglass is a bandaid fix
Nope, but tint helps and so do the black backgrounds on many games and space games especially make it not as big of a deal.
Maybe a new fan?
pc version had a level editor
Yodelayheehoo
IT'S BROKE.
