Yea, that's insane. A lot of companies would use little things like that if they already planned on firing you. He likely did more than not wearing a seat belt at 4 mph. Another possibility is he lied to not look bad, that's common too, or was warned many times for the same/similar issue. It's easier, safer, and recommend to not have a seat belt when backing up so I can't see someone being fired for 4mph, especially if you're setting up for a back like I was. I definitely appreciate the warning, though.🙏🏽🙏🏽
I appreciate that so much! I usually get a 34hr reset as often as I can. I hate running off of recaps so I typically take a 34. I make room for it lol. Gotta have my breaks, I also feel like I make more money with a 34 compared to running straight. And again, I appreciate the support brotha!💪🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I start trucking school with KLLM in Mississippi this coming Thursday and I know you gotta drive for at least 240 hours during over the road training. Does that add up to maybe about a month of driving or a little longer?
It's possible to do in 4 weeks, but that's rare (usually someone with previous experience unlicensed maybe), but on average, it takes about 6 weeks. It took me right at 6 weeks.
We definitely took all 4 at one time. You're in Jackson, MS? I don't remember a GG. But yea, we took all 4 to get it out of the way but whatever you don't pass, you get to take the next day, then you'll have Friday as well, if you don't pass Friday you're done. (For MS and Louisiana, I'm not sure about all other states.) Actually, I think MS only had Wednesday and Thursday, and LA had Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Realistically, you should be good. It takes about 3 months. I've never did anything so it still makes me nervous. I'd say shave your arm or leg hair and let that grow back for these last 30 days and use that, I wouldn't use old hair or head hair. Or if you don't feel confident in passing, let them know you had a family emergency or something and ask if they can move it up a month or 2. Those are the two options I'd go with.
You are own your own buddy. Lotsa common sense. Problem solving, thinking outside the box. It’s a tough job. Nobody will tell you that.
Absolutely bro, absolutely
Always have your seatbelt on. A guy recently got fired from JB Hunt for only doing 4 mph in a yard with no seatbelt on.
