    Ok, I think this needs some context.
    Yes a poor diet full of inflammatory chemicals will probably make chronic pain worse but chronic pain is mainly a disorder of the whole brain/nerve system.
    I had severe chronic pain for over 3 years after 3 spinal surgeries. It took me about a year to get over it - most/enough of it anyway. But my road to recovery started before I was vegan. I was vegetarian at the time.
    When you are in chronic pain, it usually seems like it will be with you forever. For me, that was incredibly depressing. Which is actually a big part of the problem.
    I was coaxed out of my chronic pain after an experienced physio explained, and convinced me, that my pain was not coming from my surgery but from a dysfunctional nervous system (including my brain) which had just learned to inflict pain on me pretty much all the time and for no real reason.
    But what you learn, you can unlearn. And that's what I started doing from that point on.
    I read an excellent book I was recommended - Explain Pain - twice and that was also really therapeutic.
    If anyone is out there suffering from chronic pain that they cannot control, I can tell you that is is possible and I am one person who did. If you think my experience could be valuable to you, please let me know. I would love to be able to help others cut short what I went through for what seemed like an eternity.

I do intermittent fasting and wait before juicing in the morning.
      I recommend a slow change over where you replace one meal a day for a week and then two meals a day and then 3. If you go overnight change you can detox and hurt your body. My weight has stabilised, muscle builds/maintains easily and body fat decreases effortlessly. If I exercise strenuously I am tired but never sore the next day. I have continued to give away, over the last 14 years, the consumption of what I consider poison which include processed foods, nitrate and sulphite are destructive; processed sugar; gluten; all grains including rice. Just to be clear absolutely no animal products. My diet consists of vegetables, fruit, legumes, seeds. I had developed some serious problems with my feet and ankles. Pain and swelling caused me to limp constantly for about three years. I am not an athlete, and physical straining was not the problem. But I am overweight. I went on the whole food (no oil, no sugar (no honey), no refined foods, no meat or fish. About two months into it, or even less, I realized my pain and swelling were gone from my feet. I hadn't even noticed that I wasn't limping anymore. I had bought a couple of dozen different kinds of shoes, slippers, flip flops, etc. to accommodate my feet, but nothing worked. I did not stay with the diet, for no reason, but my pain and swelling have not returned. I have painful wrists though, and they also had cleared up. I am now getting back to the whole foods program, and am starting back to cutting out meat and chicken. I think the reason I gave up the diet was because I felt I was lacking some nutrients. So I may modify it a bit and keep fish and eggs in my diet to see how it goes. But mainly I now eat whole starches, whole vegetables, whole grains and whole fruits. Because of how our produce is grown, I think we do find mineral/vitamin depletion if we give up animal products. We need to stay aware of how we feel.

      @@sternleiche Meat and dairy production are among the top causes of GHG emissions. Between burning down forests to make grazing/animal feed , the massive numbers of huge machinery that harvests hundreds of millions of acres of soy/corn/hay, then transporting it all over the country and the world and the methane from belching, farting animals and then the waste/pollution/using of the majority of our drinking water, meat/dairy is the worst product for the environment. It wastes more land for fewer protein calories, than any plants. One acre will produce 92 lbs of beef and 1292 pounds of lentils (USDA numbers). And one beef burger uses 2100 litres of fresh drinking water, compared to 160 litres to produce a 'Beyond Meat burger'. Livestock is a terrible problem for the environment.

    • @sternleiche
      @sternleiche 3 года назад +1

      @@ddhqj2023 yes the conventional food production is very flawed and we have a massive overpopulation problem, without it we can produce any form of food completely organic straight out of nature.
      minimalism/moderation is the way to change things but we are omnivores and it is the healthiest form of eating for us. veganism and all the new diet ideas are just new ways to make profit and to keep the overpoplulation alive so mankind can be exploited even more.
      cars emit more dangerous fumes than animals.
      problematic for the environment is not only the car usage it is first and foremost the production and eventual recycling. so it should only be used when absolutely necessary and not a thing to have just out of convenience.

    • @ddhqj2023
      @ddhqj2023 3 года назад +1

      @@sternleiche I don't agree at all about us being omnivores. Between 6-5 million years ago, the first 'humans' appeared on the scene. Archeological evidence shows that we began eating meat about 2.5 million years ago. Which means we evolved eating and getting all our nutrients from plants. And that evolution is described perfectly in the way our teeth are shaped, the kind of digestive acids our bodies make and the organization of our entire digestive system.
      As far as your foray into 'environmental' commentary, in the USA, 600 million acres of land is used exclusively to grow feed for and to graze the billions of land animals raised and killed each year in the States. Think of the huge numbers of fossil fuel burning heavy equipment that harvests those acres. (Just as a contrast, all the fruit, veggies, lentils, nuts, beans, etc.) that is directly eaten by people, only requires about 3 million acres. And those figures by the way, are from a Wetlands protection group (no vegan affiliation).
      Add in the millions of big rigs that haul both live and dead animals all over the country, the fossil fuels burned to keep power on in millions of slaughterhouses and coolers to both move the animal feed and the meat and dairy....and then factor in the effects of deforestation (think Brazil's terrible fires....) to open up new grazing, new soy and corn for feed fields.........and finally include the methane that comes from hundreds of millions of sheep, cattle and goats and pigs as they eat and live.....Food animal production produces more GHG emissions that all the cars and trucks on the road according to experts who've researched all these factors.
      Veganism is getting back to the diet that we evolved to eat and which will go a long way towards mitigating the destruction of our environment. And considering how drastically inefficient animal products are when it comes to land and water use, if the world went vegan, we could easily feed everyone on the planet and at the same time, allow great tracts of land to reforest for the sake of our wild neighbours. And we'd also be ahead in protecting coral reefs and oceans and ocean animals from the destruction that fishing boats do even so far as how they have bycatch, scrape the life out of the bottoms of oceans, dump old nets and crap that kill thousands of seals, birds and whales. If we love this amazing planet we live on, if we love our children and their future children and grandchildren, if we love animals, than veganism is the only way to live. For the sake of the animals, the environment and your own health.

I eat melon, blueberry, chia, almond milk, no dairy, no sugar, no processed foor, no wheat, (glten), no grains as my body reacts to all. ANY SUGGESTION WOULD BE SO APPRECIATED, OR A meal plan. Eggs aren't really dairy, they're in the protein family. But you could have a sensitivity to them. And ya we do need omega 3s. You need to watch though, because diet (especially american-style) has a super-high amount of omega 6, and it can be tricky but they need to be more balanced. I have read that omega 3s from plant sources like flaxseed oil aren't as easily absorbed as animal-based, so you may need to take more, or for longer? Idk, I just know I've read that. You may personally be sensitive to some of the compounds in vegetables, so your pain isn't decreasing. There are people that are just really sensitive to these, and they therefore have to live on a primarily meat diet (or else live with chronic, even debilitating pain and conditions). Maybe you need to try an elimination diet, see if you pick up any sensitivities.

Not eating meat at all including fish and eggs seems to be the way to go. I need to drop the eggs because they are full of so much fat. I have been hearing that fat is what is causing diabetes, not sugar. It is a slow process.
      Add to that is what I have been hearing about the glyphosate that may be on organic foods. Glyphosate is flying through the air landing on everything. Plus I saw a video on vertical gardening. One person said that organic foods are being sprayed with glyphosate anyway. The whole aching thing could be caused by glyphosate. Plus the balance of omega 3 to 6 is tricky.
      Thanks Chris for caring.

      @@pureenergy4578 Eating fat does not cause diabetes. I've known people who have reversed prediabetes and type 2 by going on a very low-carb, fat-heavy diet. It's really just all the highly processed crap that does it I think. All the hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and transfats. When you mix fats, especially those kind, with a high-processed carb-heavy diet it causes all sorts of hormonal imbalances and inflammatory responses. I don't advocate for vegan over keto, or vice versa. I think it is certainly individual for everyone. Both diets work wonders when done CORRECTLY. And that means eating natural, whole foods. Eating til full, not stuffed. And doing some type of activity you like. Finding healthier substitutes for 'treats' you like. The reason they BOTH work very well when done right, in my opinion, is because they essentially eliminate all of the mass-produced, factory-made food items, snacks, and junk food/fast food. If everyone just cut back a lot on that, they'd be healthier. That being said, I do think people should focus on eating whole foods, mostly plant-based, eat some small meat sometimes if you like, eliminate cow's milk and most (if not all) dairy and stick to veg substitutes, and beware of a lot of added sugar and avoid drinking your calories. Best of luck to you and it's great that you are finding what suits you best. (Oh and I also have to say, you can also sub many animal meat items with veggie versions too as there are so many tasty ones these days, or make your own!)

      I think that eating sugar and salt right now is the worst thing I can do because I have noticed intense swelling when I eat just a tiny bit. I no longer want to go out walking, so sitting a lot is making these sugars and salts toxic to me. Have you seen the videos that say sugar is toxic?
      I used to dance and ride a mountain bike and garden all the time while eating all the sugar and crap I wanted with no ill effects. So I know what the problem is.
      I have read that all foods are carbohydrates/sugars because that is the end product. Then there is the acidic issue. We are alkaline beings that should stay above 7 PH. Meats/sugars are very acidic. Seeds/nut/beans are very acidic until they are soaked/sprouted. I just learned this this past summer. A lot of my aching stopped when I stopped with the acidic foods. But then I forget and want nuts that are not soaked and I can feel the acidity in me again. I am having issues with forgetting.

      cooking really benefits the bioavailability of food and is the reason why human brains are so developed- cooking bulbs and tubers grew our brains to the size they are today. there isn't enough research on raw foodism and it is incredibly difficult to get enough calories for maintain health- I really would not recommend unless you are in serious need of inflammation reduction. at the very least, use "raw vegan" as a detox period for a short period of time then reintroduce cooked grains slowly afterwards. you're doing great where you are now and perhaps it would be best to do 80-90% raw instead of fully raw if you want the benefits.

    Vegetarian & later on vegan for over 22 years. I Still am at heart. I have juiced enough to fill a pool. But autoimmune issues never got any better. Tried EVERY thing...Then I was tested by a func med friend and found my oxalates level was very high. What is oxalates?? And other issues stemming from this! If this is anyone else’s experience then look into oxalates. I was also pointed too, to Sally K Norton. Google-🤗

I have been vegan 21 years vegetarian 6 years before that. I have COPD caused by psoriosis now getting psoratic arthritis all stress induced due to years of protecting kids from sexual abuse and being hypervigilent with PTSD. My faith in God also helps

      Its not about blood acidity, its about chronic acidosis and what your body compensates for homeostasis. Look up the dialysis literature and apply to everyone. Our kidneys are being neglected even in the wfpb community.

    • @chrisinreallife2022

      Possibly, but they actually make vegan yogurts that are really delicious. So you don't have to miss out. I found a couple when I did a 30 day vegan challenge and still like them better than regular yogurt actually. In fact, there's a few vegan things that our household (other members also definitely not vegetarian/vegan) prefers over the non-vegan ones. Like Vegenaise. Best mayo sub ever, better than real mayo. Oat or cashew milk. Coconut milk yogurt. And the coconut, or oat milk, or cashew milk ice creams. The best!
