  • Cruising on the open highway has never been easier in the Honda HR-V! Honda's Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) sets your cruise speed, and gauges the interval between you and the vehicle detected ahead; it can also brake your vehicle, or apply the throttle, depending on that interval. The ACC has a radar system on the vehicle's front, as well as a windshield-mounted camera, which detect the following intervals. Note that the driver remains responsible for slowing or stopping the vehicle to avoid a collision.
ACC cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other factors. ACC should not be used in heavy traffic, poor weather or on winding roads. ACC only includes a limited braking function. Driver remains responsible for slowing or stopping the vehicle to avoid a collision.

I have the same issue with my 2019 HRV Touring. Adaptive cruise control does not work no matter what I do or press.
Edit: Resolved by pressing the button for two seconds or so until a beep is heard and the dash changes. The addition of the car symbol will appear and you can then press the button normally to adjust to distance to be kept during cruise control. Found this out at random - dealership didn’t know when asked either.

So I decided to hold down the button for two seconds or so and it beeps. The dash changes and this then basically enables and disables the distronic. Wish the video or the dealership could have helped with that detail. Leaving it enabled also works in conjunction with the car steering itself as well! (Does not take all turns well if at all so be careful doing both).

Directions for using ACC and setting the following distance are on page 126 of the owner's manual for the 2020 HRV. However this is difficult to find and it should be highlighted both in the manual and by the dealer. You could easily believe that ACC is on and expected to slow down for a vehicle in front of you only to find that it's not in the right mode. On the Honda CRV I just returned there was only one type of cruise control which avoided this confusion and this danger

I second the comments of frustration here. If your car has the green ACC light on, makes you believe it is active but not. Holding the distance button (car image with four horizontal lines behind it) for about two seconds activates it. I only found about it after reading the comments here. Before, I was thinking it is not working or the car is not equipped with it.

I bought a 2019 HRV LX-2WD about 4 months ago was super excited about the Assistive Cruise Control feature after some friends told me how well it works.
I'm able to enter and exit from Cruise Control, LKAS works and lanes are detected.
Despite the ACC letters showing green on my cluster, I'm unable to get ACC to work on my car! I've tried so many different button combinations. I've seen on Honda help sites, that an active ACC should show the icon of a car (if one is detected) between the LKAS lines. The car icon has never shown up for me. I've run "experiments" where I turn on Cruise Control and see how close my car will get to the car in front, and no slowdown occurs, forcing me to brake. Help!

2024 hrv owner here. Not only does my acc not work, but neither does my cbms that helps protect against colisión.
Both worked beautifully on my 2020 accord. But this new model is faulty. Took it in to the de alerta and they insiste there is nothing wrong.
      Something is Definitely wrong

With the endless features that are being added to vehicles, many of which will become standard and be included in the price, vehicles will cost more than houses. It will be cheaper to hire a car service than to own and maintain a vehicle. I have been purchasing more specialized equipment (scanners, oscilloscopes, etc) as well as taking online courses to be able to diagnose and repair these high end vehicles because it will become more expensive to repair them after paying a small fortune to purchase them and I plan to cash in on the repairs that today's average mechanic won't be able to. Today and the future vehicles are cash cows that I strongly oppose but if I can't do anything about it, I just as soon make lots of money with them.
