Great video. I love throwing a 1\8 oz Terminator buzz bait. I throw them year round to inside grass lines. Nearly beach my boat and make multiple casts in water less than a foot deep. Black is my favorite color especially on cloudy days. #BUZZ

#100percentwatchsquad Another great video, Hank! A lot of times, I'll get sneaky and go with a little 1/8 oz buzzbait with a little grub for a trailer. Even bigger bass seem to go for it, especially on days when the bite is tough!
Oh yeah I love the 1/4 and 1/8 they are sooooo good in the clear water
I tend to stay smaller with all my baits.i feel like all the fish around me see is big, loud, heavy baits, so their itching to slam anything a bit more subtle.
I taught myself in '82 to cast LH because of some misses on the buzz bait! I still cast LH 99%.
I never really had an issue with it. My problem has been just swinging to early lol

Liked the video! Got info I didn’t have before. Always fish a buzz bait but usually don’t have much success! I like using it around weed beds but I find that more subtle baits like a Ribbit seems to work better for me. Think I’ll scale down the size of my buzz bait. Should work a whole lot better. I love your down to earth delivery and personality. I just started getting serious about buzzbaits this year, and at the moment, I'm fishing them on a 6'6" Shimano Compre casting rod and an older Shimano Bantam Mag Plus 250 reel spooled with 14 lb. test monofilament. It works for me. #buzz

Here in ohio. The bass run a bit smaller so I generally use the 1/8 or 1/4 oz baits black/chart or white/chart with chart blades. I sometimes throw them up on a steep bank then let them fall in th water before starting my retrieve. Crazy but it works. #Buzz

Getting it started is the key
Ive caught all my pb bass in tge last 20 years or so on a 6 ratio reel. Slowing that buzzbait down can and will get bigs to come up to hit the lure. I never fish above a 7.1 ratio reel with a buzzbait. Buzzbait is actually my favorite lure period lol.
Sometimes just under the surface that buzzbait can catch fish and bigs too lol. If you're not getting blowups try it sub service is my advice especially in early fall.

@@BassGeek yea bro but you can't drop a 7 ratio to 24" per turn lol to get that slow slow roll where the buzzbait is just barely running the service at a slow pace. Burning sometimes can be good for nunbers but I catch way more bigs on that slow roll and always have lol. I get the same results from ploppers a lot too. That's usually the bait that works when the buzzbait isn't getting hit.
Haven't caught a fish on the buzzbait this year. But fall may change things. Thanks for the info. #buzz

I have always rolled that buzzbait as soon as it hits the water. I prefer a high gear ratio as well because ive learned with a buzzbait after they hit it alot of times they will come towards the boat and you need that high ratio to keep up with them. I have a light green buzz bait with a dark green toad trailer, will that effect how much the bass bite because they aren’t the same exact shade of green?
I always say the bass will let you know. If they don’t then change it up. Miss matching is good at times
