You are so good at this reminds me of your dad who I watched when I was a kid. I'm almost 50 now and you and your family are awesome at this. Love watching you all
Finally someone who understands how good the bandito bug on a buzzbait is. It keeps the buzzbait up on the top of the water and provides great action. I like to pair it with the strike king Greg hackney buzzbait. The keeper does a great job without tearing up the bait in the process.
A tip i use is when i buy a new buzzbait, i like to actually take it and tie it onto my truck, either on my antenna or on something sticking out of the bed and i'll ride around with it for a day or so to get anything off of those blades and it gives it a really loud chirping sound when you're running it through the water after doing that.
I've never had a whole lot of luck with buzz baits but there were a few tricks on the video I've never tried before but definitely will on my next fishing trip. Keep the videos coming. I love to watch them and pick up on anything I can to help land my next PB.
I appreciate the tips. The underwater and drone views are very helpful in clearly understanding the technique and strategy of what you were teaching. Thank you!
How about tips on 'When to Throw What', making those decisions. And........show us a typical'day before tourney' day, from start to finish. Give us an idea of ALL that's involved for you pros. Prep, appearances, planning, logistics, all of it. Thx. Great job on the buzzbait tips. You're the best on explaining things thoroughly, clearly.
This is an amazing video Scott! The video and underwater sound really made your point with action and sound. So many things I didn't think about before. Well done. The Bandito Bug really works for everything. It has an action and look that triggers strikes.
Hey Scott how about once or twice a year have a SMC with one of your buddies. Each take a viewer in their boat & battle it out at some great lake. Would make awesome content. I love your SMCs.
Great tips. I had noticed that some of the guys were using buzz baits at the cup ans already had me thinking that I needed to get them out again. Sometimes I just get lazy and just use the old reliable s like whopper ploppers and wacky rigs and forget some of the staples of late summer bass fishing. Good segment.
Another great video! Love picking up tips from guys like you Scott! Someone with so much experience and knowledge of today’s fishing practices! Thank you a million my man! 🐟🎣
Good tips, don't use buzzer much up here in my part of NY they only seem good end of July through Mid August, usually when the cicadas are first around. Keep them coming.
Won a tourney tonight throwing buzzbaits! I like the accent Jacob wheeler and I trailed a bufflehead big on it tonight but those tear up really easy. I like biospawn vile bugs on em or zoom z craw. Anything flat to help me skip. I go smaller trailer because of where I fish and also no skirt for better skipping. 👍
Another great tips and tricks video. If Brandon has enough time to make it to level 38 on that game, that's time wasted on making these great video's lmao. Keep up the good work.
Aite Scott, I just put you on the top of my Bucket List. Somehow, someway I'm fishing with you man. I know you are ELITE but it's going to happen. At the very least, I'll shake your hand! :) Vid is GNARLEY!!
Got a couple Okuma spinning reels, brand new, still in the box. Had them when I packed up and moved to Florida. My question is, what size, action rod would you use for wacky rigging/drop shot'n and fishing a ball head minnow?
If you don’t have a lot of different buzz baits does it make sense to just switch between trailers to see what the fish are wanting? Or should you just commit to multiple setups for buzz bait fishing in general? Thanks in advance!
@scott.martin quick question, I don’t expect you to reply but maybe another subscriber will, I just picked up my first buzz bait and haven’t tried it yet. Q: is there a best time or condition to throw these? Would you throw one at night? Morning, afternoon? Blue bird sky’s, over cast? Etc. thank you for another great video. I’m brand new to bass fishing and having a ton of success and mostly just loving it by picking up pointers like these. Thanks for what you do.
During the warmer months I like to fish buzbaits mostly early and late. As the fall progresses I tend to fish it longer and sometimes all day, looking for shady spots around trees, docks, etc. I have had some major blowups at night as well. Hope this helps!
Throw the buzz bait whenever there is some surface prey, whether that is small fish on the surface, birds (baby ducklings esp), big moths, beetles, cicadas or other insects, frogs, snakes or whatever. These baits imitate something struggling in the water and throw out all the signals to a fish that there is an easy meal in the offing. Traditionally, most people throw them through the dawn and dusk periods, on cloudy days and in other low light situations. The truth is, they can be thrown at any time as long as the appropriate bait is active. Often, through the hot midday period of summer, these can be used to lure fish in shade zones under trees, bridges and other overhanging structure by plonking it in hard, (nothing subtle about a baby swallow falling from its nest and hitting the water) and then just keeping it in place with rod tip flicks before beginning a retrieve, to sort of mimic something falling in and struggling. Through winter afternoons, these can be spun over the shallow flats where the water is warmer and the fish more active. So, in truth, there is "more traditional times" but not really any "better times". Having said this, a lot depends on where you are fishing. If all the fish are down deep, you would probably go for a spinner bait or something a little more appropriate. If there is a lot of weed on the surface etc, you will probably do better with a frog or similar weedless rig. Throwing into timber piles with these is productive, but you can expect to lose a few. Don't bother too much with them in fast running, broken water except in certain circumstances when, due to rocks or other bottom debris, you want to keep a lure a bit higher. Most of the time, in fast water, to get the blades chopping, you have to retrieve too fast for most fish to bother chasing them, however, having said that, they can be effective if utilised intelligently and eddies, transitions and other curret features can produce amazing results. Try swinging a buzz bait down in a current on a semi slack line, allowing the current to move the bait along sub surface, then tighten into it and bring it it the surface as it hits an eddy to mimic something that was struggling in the fast water trying to get up. Hope this gives you something to think about. A caveat here, I live in Australia and have never been bass fishing. What I have said above is from my experience fishing buzz baits for our native Murray Cod and Yellowbelly. However, I watch a few bass fishing videos, and I cannot say that our methods are all that different.
Love all air videos. I have one problem I can buy a new buss bait an i put it on braid. But it al ways wants to turn on the side any help with that sure would be appreciated. Thanks.
Love your videos. I've been trying to expand my arsenal and catch bass on baits that I haven't before. This morning I got my first two on a buzz bait. Fun times. Before this year most of my catches were on plastic worms.
Get video !!! Thank you!! Would love to see just a bunch of tuning videos on baits that can be tuned. Show us what it looks like when it’s running wrong. Thanks !!!
Great video. I bought my 1st Buzz Bait and fished it without a trailer and I was curious to know if it is best to use a trailer. U answered my curiosity 😄✌
Nice!!! That fluke tail is a game changer, I've actually been having decent luck with the KEITECH 3.5 "Swing Impact on my Black buzzbait Although the tails seem to get bitten off too easily.
Found a double bladed buzz bait in my dads old tackle box. Put a synthetic yellow skirt on it and sharpened the hook. What makes it better than a single blade? Will put a Rage craw as a trailer too. Shawn
I caught a fish on a craw-ned (i made) the other day. The icast winner 2018 live craw and just slid a damn rattlein ned on that hook to add a little noise. That fish liked it!!!!!
I have one buzzbait and I wanna buy another one but the one I have when I cast and start reeling it goes under water and takes it a second to come to the top and do what it’s supposed to it’s weird and idk why it does that and it also runs sideways for some reason can you help me Scott?
Hi! I just started watching your videos... excited to learn from your experiences!! Regarding buzzbaits WITH A TRAILER: do you advocate using a trailer hook to get the “short strikers”?? Thank you!!!!
can you do something on life jackets. i just saw a few videos that scared me. if your awake they all seemed to work good. but if your knocked out with the exception of the cheapest Orange one you can buy and the inflatable ones they seem to turn you face down.
Do me a huge solid and check this game out - bit.ly/WarDragonsScottMartin
You should play Brandon...he is at level 38 now
Lvl 38, we all know who the real winners are here, Lay potato chips, red bull, and a very lucky Chinese food place
This may sound crazy but try a 10 inch curl tail worm with trailer hook😉😉
@@dirtyfisherman9188 i do that
@@owenconklin9511 its a great bait ...when you need a different look
Hey, what Buzz Baits are you using? You didn't link them in the description.

Are you tieing your braid straight to the buzzbait or do you have a leader on the braid to buzzbait?

Whats your thoughts on trailer hooks?
Great video, as always. I’d like to see a video where you compare dusk vs dawn baits and techniques.
Keep the great content coming.
Do u need a trailer cause I usually use a trailer hook with no plastic but I don’t throw them much
