Excellent presentation on the buzz bait. The last segment where Tim demonstates how to cast and begin retrieving the lure before it can sink will be so helpful to me. I struggle to get the lure going before it collects grass beneath it. I'll certainly cast on braid going forward. Thank you.

Thank you mat for the info about the buzz bait I was running it the wrong wrong way. I just wanted to let ya know you and your family got me back into fishing again with the right information about different lures and crank bait and how to use them. Thank you so much 👍🏽
Cavitron is my personal favorite. It far out performs all other buzzbaits I have. Black is my favorite and I always throw some sort of trailer on there. Usually a double tail grub.
Caught my PB largemouth on a buzzbait just the other day! It was 3 lbs. I'm from Montana where the state record is only 8.8 lbs lol so a 3 pounder is pretty decent I guess! I'm excited to break my goal of a 5 pounder. I'm hoping I can get that done this year, so I can start travelling more and pull a 10 pounder out from somewhere some day! But for now I'm focusing on a 5. I hear there is a good population of largemouth in a lake a couple hours away from me. I can't wait to get there and do some bassin!
Funny story...the first buzzbait I ever saw, I found hanging in a tree. I didn't realize it was a topwater. I fished it for a couple months like a spinnerbait.....and caught several fish like that!!! lol till my uncle saw me slow rolling it and told me how I was supposed to fish it. That's my best buzzbait story. wow the good ole days...lol
How do you keep a buzzbait from laying over on its side during the retrieve? I’ve noticed every time I fish a frog or swimbait on it they want to lay over.

I’m only an amateur bass fisherman but really want to try some buzz baits I think I’ll invest in one since bass pro shops is 10 minutes away here in Tampa haha great video thanks
What’s up Matt and Tim! Unrelated to this video but wondering your guys’ opinion on switching out bearings on a bait caster, specifically a Shimano Citica 200HG. I know it’s not the top of the line by any means, but as a 23 year old I’m working with what I have. I see a lot of people trying out these ceramic bearing from companies like Spool Speed and Boca and I cannot find an honest review. What would you guys suggest? Keep what I have or do a slight upgrade and switch out the bearings? Thanks you guys!
Great video Tim! I have a question though, how do you store your buzzbaits? I'm a bank fisherman and usually carry a backpack, but I'm going to be getting a kayak soon (Native Watercraft Slayer Propel 13) and storage is at a premium. Thanks again!
Okay so I gotta figure out what I’m doing wrong. I’ve ALWAYS JUST DECIDED TO NOT to even touch the buzzbait because every time I bring it in, it run on its side so I’ve just never taken the time to learn to tune but I need this in the tool bag. What am I doing wrong?

Just picked up a jackall firecracker 3/8! I had a zoom toed on because I thought it made the bait roll on its side. So took it off and it’s still laying down in the water?
"On Foot" Bassin' they said if the dangling treble hooks are catching the grass below then the buzz will go over the top better. If the grass isn't a problem then you can try both
Great video Tim. Wish I would have thought about a buzz bait when I was on the water yesterday. Conditions exactly like you described. My Whopper Plopper kept collecting the grass so I went to a Teckel Sprinker frog. Got at least 15 bites but did not boat a single fish. You think you or Matt could do a video on fishing one of those. I would love to know what I was doing wrong.
Great vid, I've been throwing the buzz all summer and it's getting the job done! I def. need to check out the plastic finesse buzz as that reg. buzz bait dies off quick in the day and the more finesse approach may help me extend it a bit.
Great video guys. I was hoping for a section about tuning them especially after a bass destroys one. I can't seem to get it to run exactly the way I want to afterwards. Hope to see a future video about it. Thanks.
Another great video as always. I know you guys love to throw frogs when you can. My question is when would the buzzbait be the preference instead of a frog...Cause that grass you are sitting on looks like perfect popping frog or teckle frog spot to me👀
I have a question, I just started using buzzbaits I bought three different manufacturers, no matter how I tie in on during the retrieve all three lay on there side with the blade and the trailer on top of the water.
Really started to pick up the buzz bait this year. I never had confidence in them until I forced myself to fish em until I started catching. Now they are a strong go to in my box. My favorite thing to do with them is to tick the cover, just enough to mess the action up for a second, seems like the most aggressive strikes come from doing that!
Jake kroger Give the rod a little tap once in a while if they won’t commit, like when fishing a spinnerbait or a swimbait. Works well over submerged grass if you have nothing to deflect off of. Some days it can make a big difference
Glad y'all put this out. I have been struggling a bit with the buzzbait. When you can. Can you show how a trailer hook goes on? I don't know if I am doing it the right way.
There is a video on RUclips with KVD talking about spinnerbaits , he had a camera on the shore, he cast towards the camera, and you can see what Tim is talking about doing, the bait enters the water with just a very small splash. Also in TacticalBassin frog fishing videos you sometimes see the same thing,

How do you keep a buzzbait from laying over on its side during the retrieve? I’ve noticed every time I fish a frog or swimbait on it they want to lay over.
I feel like that may have to do with either how the rod is held or the knot placement
When I fish buzzbaits I fish a double buzz almost exclusively because I caught a lot more bass and bigger bass on them versus single bladed ones.
Underrated buzzbaits imo are- Lunker lure, Terminator, Megastrike.
