Buzz bait's are great. Once you learn how to tune them. They do get out of wack a lot but that's how you learn. Great video. I'm 46 and I stood next to the young man at a fishing school in Brooksville fl couple of years ago. Great dude. He knows fishing

I just grabbed 2 of those up in black and white on black friday. They were the only company with a 1/4th oz instead of 3/8th or 1/2. They look nice! Just gotta wait till spring to try them. 😂

Love those Crock o gator head knockers and the x toad. The x toad has a hole in the very back between the legs to insert the trailer hook into them line the eye up with the hole in the back of the toad so you see to put the buzz bait hook through the toad and the eye of the trailer hook. Great system. Minimizes the trailer hook going all over the place.

Great Buzzbait! Definitely a confidence lure. You have to throw it with conviction. Super video, Thanks!

Another awesome trailer for a buzzbait that looks like a frog is a 6th Sense Stroker Craw and it really helps it plane real quick

1 thing people dont know is a buzzbait will always run according to the direction the blade is propped.

I was curious what I needed to do when my buzzbait isn't tracking correctly. Thanks for the video

The best plastic I have ever used on a buzzbait is the 6th Sense Stroker craw

I'm curious, how did you come up with 90%? is there a study or some kind of poll where you got the numbers from?

Buzz bait is my 2nd favorite to the hollow body frog.

What size trailer hook is that? I miss so many fish on buzzbaits, what do suggest to catch more? I saw you missed a couple nice ones, could you have done anything different?

    • @ChristianGreico
      @ChristianGreico  6 месяцев назад

It was a 1/0. I think the trailer hook probably helps. Sometimes they just miss it though 🤷‍♂️

I’m also thinking a softer rod could help. I think I tend to pull it away from them too fast when I see the blowup.

I love this buzzbait but I do feel like I miss a lot on this buzzbait it gets tons of bites tho

I feel like the hook needs to be a little longer

Do you ever use a trailer hook on it? I really try to avoid using one because I think they get in the way of the action and snag up too much, but I’ve noticed fish do miss a buzzbait pretty often.

Just recently picked up some cheap buzzbaits for the first time and have thrown 2 off casting it out with 30 pound braid tied with a Palmer knot. Noticed I have a broken eyelet, could that be cutting my line?

  • @user79592

I replaced some of my blades and rivits.
To get the squeak, I put them in front of a fan to get some wear on them. That metal to metal is annoying as hell.
Just like when your wife wears the brake pads down to the metal 😳😫

I have personally found that I miss way fewer bites using 17-20lb flouro over braid a la Gerald Swindle. Your mileage may vary..

I’ve heard gman talk about it but haven’t tried it yet. Slightly concerned with all the cover I typically throw a buzzbait around

@@ChristianGreico The benefits have outweighed the potential issues for me. I am fishing pretty much only Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas lakes though. I can see your concern being down there in Florida. I very much appreciate you filming these fun outings for us. God bless

The only time braid will cause a problem is if you only have 1 or 2 rods and try to fish a buzzbait on a worm rod. If you use a 60/40 rod and braid.... not only does it eliminate the problem of snatching it away from them but makes for more accurate and effortless casting; especially roll casts around targets. Graphite is fine... you don't need glass.... but look for a 60/40 rod that is medium to slow. Line stretch and rod power are a balancing act.... I have found a slower rod and braid cast better and more accurately.

@@alanbesing3693 I agree it’s a balancing act between line stretch and rod power/action. I’m interested in your approach. You mention using a slower action, but what power rod are you using? Medium, MH? I am using a MH, fast action rod for the purpose.

you want that buzz bait to squeak(mimmics a mouse scurrying on the water). take them tie them to radio antenna on truck boogie down highway ( wears the bore of the spinner some) over the years have tried the clacker blade hiTS head(waste of money stayed true to this day with the original lunker lure,I HAVE SOME i know must be 40 yrs. old !! as long as hooks dont rust I WILL CONTINUE TO CHANGE SKIRTS & REPAINT HEADS WITH FINGER NAIL POLISH. THE OLDER BAITS HAD LARGER DIAMETER WIRE THEY WERE EASIER TO TUNE
