This vid is exactly what I needed.
My budget is basically nothing, but I still wanted something better than my hand-me-down Snowball. Half the time you can't hear me over my keyboard, and the few times you can I'm drowned out by the air conditioner. So naturally, I started looking into something that I could put in a desk-clamp boom arm, feed into an audio interface, and had a high level of off-axis rejection. Found the Super D at Microcenter and it *looked* the part, but I had absolutely no idea how it would sound.
So thanks for being my try-before-you-buy.

Thank you very much! You are doing a great work! CAD went out of my radar, even if i try to fellow closely the microphone world. I just discovered that CAD released an E50, a little brother of the famous e100s. Love the sound of the Podmaster! Great presentation!

Sounds good. I'm just happy were finally getting a bunch of decent dynamic mics to choose from. And at an affordable enough price to get people to stop buying those crappy blue Snowballs and Yetis. Not to mention the crappy Amazon condensers. Thanks for the video!

Try the big mother Rode WS2 windshield as is quite thick or one from SM7B large windshield. Don't push it all the way down. Leave a bit of a gap to allow the air to dissipate before going through the grill and inbuilt foam. I think that should greatly reduce the plosives.

The mic Sounds smooth, easy to listen to, and for the price, very good, i think its still less muddier than the AC50, great video Bark!

It's smooth....and with a little eq...namely a little reduction in the bottom...hell of a mic

@@ObscureMics I was tempted, but I just purchased the Sterling Audio studio bundle a couple of weeks ago including the SP150, H224, and S400. My first usb mic was extremely generic, and it fizzled out out shortly after I received it, so I think I’ll go with the Shure MV7 if I try the usb route again.
I want this mic man I love how it looks I’m using the Samson Q2U with the SE Electronics Dynamite & I’ve probably said that before but works GREAT with the preamp man. Just makes it sound so good but I wanna hear this bad boy with the preamp tho. I’d trade in my Q2U in a heartbeat for this

I don't hate it (esp. at the price) but dang those plosives are a deal killer
They are rough...not a deal killer though...not for me. We shield all mics from them anyways
The Heil sound foam would likely kill all of them
The innogear seems cool. Do you have any go to shockmounts or clips for small diaphragm pencil pics?

the one thing they should have included is a cord to plug it up. for a first time mic user here I had the hardest time with finding the right cord and hooking it up and ended up buying both usb and 3.5mm audio just to stick with the usb one. I didn't think my PC was picking it up until I opened discord and saw the mic test option and yet still having trouble with it picking up my voice from maybe 30cm away.. what am I doing wrong here? maybe an amplifier?

what kind of cable would you recommend for this mic? I'm trying to find one since the box didn't come with a cable and i don't have an XLR port on my PC

so no go on a dep voice? Im a huge CAD guy. their handhelds blow Shure out of the water and the M179 is probably the most versatile sub $500 condenser there is.
also do you have a list of affordable equipment that you recommend for pods and zoom calls? I come from a music background and don't want to deal with all the extra post productions stuff.
With an aggressive low cut filter I'm sure it's fine...or if you want that broadcast sound...the deep voice may actually help. But a low voice with the CAD low end...may be too much
man im having issues with hissing and buzzing sound with this mic. any pointers?????

That's no good. I would imagine the mic is likely the culprit...but what interface are you using?
I'm using the U-PHORIA UM2. What mic pre are you using? I purchased one and my gain is really low!

did you ever figure out your gain issues? I'm running a scarlet solo and with max gain having trouble getting enough volume
Don't tell anyone, but this set is down to $11 at Microcenter . . . I was sure it'd be flagged as a mistake when i picked it up, but nope!

ZOOM ZDM-1 VS Podmaster SUPER D VS AC50 what're your thoughts?
The podmaster for thinnish voices - the ZDM for deep voices - the AC50 is a mice middle ground and most well rounded TO ME. I do love the podmaster.....I have actually kept it around with the AC50's The zmd im done with
@@ObscureMics see I just got the ZDM-1, and so far so good, but I am not sure whether to keep it or return it and try out the AC50. My voice is fairly deep, and after some fine tuning I got the ZDM-1 to sing BUT Im still torn.

It has plosives.......SO. Get a pop filter. Sounds pretty good.
They all have plosives it seems. I'll never pass on a mic because of plosives
