8 person Surrey bike turned into 40mph e-bike limo

- I installed a 72v 3000w brushless motor on my 8 person Surrey bike. Now it will go 40mph. we take it for a drive out in the country and downtown. also a little show and tell with how I did it

This is too cool. I have many memories with my family at the Jersey shore riding in surreys. The running joke for years from my dad was they needed an engine. This is pretty damn cool! Thanks for sharing!

That is awesome what a great idea to help save your legs from constant peddling especially if it's hot out, would be really cool if you could somehow rig up an alternator to charge as you ride

Is this considered a motorized bicycle ? Do you need a drivers license to operate it ? Insurance ? Registration with the DMV ? Have you ever been pulled over for driving it ?
Either a 72 T flywheel or a 84 T flywheel will make it go faster than 40 mph it will go 60 or 70 mph.....
Sounds exiting but thats sounds about as safe as a helicopters moving parts. 1 failed mechanical part and accident can happen(pushing 60 in one of those with a wreck would be a nightmare)
