I don't think any musician in the world has more fun performing than Buddy. His default expression is a massive grin. God bless the man and I hope he lives to be 100.
what I don't understand is why the hell you were even here, if you dislike Buddy that much.. leave us all in peace!! we love him, and you are bringing us down!!
tell it like it is GeneralBaron. I recently had the extreme pleasure of attending one of his shows and it was one of the most exciting concerts i have been to. you wouldnt think a 73 year old man would have so much spunk and energy! He even took my 5 year old onstage with him to sing. Buddy is the man!
I seen Buddy last year at Wolftrap, in Vienna, Va.. He was a REAL crowd pleaser. He actually walked thru the entire audiance, while playing and singing!!! That song must have lasted 20 minutes!!! He's older and has different band members, but GO SEE HIM!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go see him again! Keep Rockin' the Blues for us Buddy....YOU RULE!!!!!!!!!! God Bless!!
Buddy Guyu is the most unappreciated bklues man alive today. Wake up music fans and love them while they are still around. I would climb mountains to see Buddy. Best blues player, Taught Clapton, Handrix, Etc...
Seen Buddy Guy several times and each time he is more incredible than the last. Wow this man could play a remote control and make it rock. Saw him play a song with 2 scarfs on his guitar and it was awesome!!! Unreal!
I went through a simular progress. From Ac/DC to Doors to blues rock to Chicago blues and I ended on the Delta Blues, the best kind of music there is i.m.o. From Guys like Buddy, Muddy and Hooker I went to Skip James, Blind Willie Johnson and Mississippi Fred McDowell. They are simply the best I've ever heard so yeah, I would recommend them.
wow all i can say is wow i havent heard this in years!! this makes me so happy!!!! do it do it!!! loving timeless usic at 24 yrs old. good stuff, hell, great stuff!!
Dude, I'm white and play pentatonic scale, and try to play Blues, but I agree with you 100%. Real bluesmen like Buddy Guy, they are just special, and as bad as the things that happened to black americans were, without those things the blues would not be what it is, cause it is music born of suffering and oppression. That's why there are so few whites who can really play the blues, not necessarily 'cause they haven't suffered enough, but also cause they don't channel thier souls into the music.
Yep, that is Scott Holt - a truly phenomenal guitar player - I saw him about a dozen of so times when he was in Buddy's Band, he's back home in Tenn again leading his own band and don't forget the supremely Greg Razb on Bass - who after leaving Buddy's band, went onto to Play with The Black Crowes and was almost in the Rolling Stones (they selected another Chicagoan, Darryl Jones instead) and Ray "Killer" Allison, a mainstay on the Chicago Blues scene who has played with literally everyone
Don't try to tell people what is good or bad.. Just listen to what you like, and support these musicians though going to see their live shows, or purchasing their media. Everyone likes something different, don't try to TELL people what is good or bad.. just listen, and keep negative comments to yourself.
Dude, he did the same thing in Eugene, OR - so fucking amazing - this guy is the quint essential blues master... even Clapton says he's the best and favorite guitar player alive.
damn when he performs even playing the guitar it just like he draws u in and ........i cant explain it but DAMN ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITAR PLAYERS IN THE WORLD
No problems, as I sais opinions I can respect, thankyou for having the guts to apolgise for your comments, that is somehting that few would do, so thankyou, and i apolgoise if my own words were a little harsh. I loook forward to hearing your music, even if it isn't blues.
I came home this morning Oh what a shock When I found out my key No longer fit my lock Oh baby You just go right back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Oh someone else was slippin' in I thought I was your fool That you could count on One was right there When no one else is at home But oh baby I think I found myself a new friend But while you were slippin' out Oh Lord, someone else was slippin' in Now cry your heart out Oh you don't mean a thing to me I'm a brand new man And you can plainly see A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair This big smile you see on my face You didn't put it there I got a new way of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face babe You didn't put it there Oh baby You just take me back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in Oh Lord Now cry your heart out Oh you don't mean a thing to me I'm a brand new man Even Stevie Wonder can see A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face baby You didn't put it there I got a new way of wearin' my hair This big smile on my face You didn't put it there Oh baby You just go right back out there where you've been 'Cause while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Oh someone else was slippin' in I said while you were slippin' out Someone else was slippin' in
Thanks man, I agree with you, it does depend very much on the individual; musician and their abilites. Have you seen Lonni Mack "stop" talking of nice playing, it's well worth a look.
Yeah I think that's a good way of putting it, I know i tend to play to many notes, whereas black players just seem to know the right note, when they've hit it and how long to hold it. As a guitarist, it makes you wanna cry sometimes :-). Buddy Guy is a great example, just an amazing player, not to mention showman and singer.
Woke up this morning oh what A shock found out the key no longer fits the lock she said baby go back where you been cause while your slippin' out someone else is slippin' in. I got A new way of wearing my hat, I got A new way of wearing my hair the smile on my face you didn't put it there while your slippin' out someone else is slippin' in.
yeah i'm wondering that too. that dude can play some mean blues too. is that guy Snowy White by any chance, anyone know? ( and no, i'm not joking about the name)
Buddy does that alot if you goto the SRV Tribute footage he does it again. He has a boost in the guitar, I believe Clapton has it too thats why he doesnt play with an overdrive pedal. Its like an active circuit built into the tone knob. He is awsome one of my favors besides Freddie King
i got all my infulence from buddy guy ive been playin for 10 years but im not good at all. my buddy played for 7 and smokes me. but he thinks im good. cuz i sound like buddy and bb. he sounds like clapton its all blues. u dont have to play a billion notes to get it. bb king = greatest phrasing ever buddy = craziest guitar and vocals ever!!! clapton = techincal perfection!!
Anyone who says that Buddy isnt one of the greatest guitarist ever..well..ah hell, why do we always have to compare and bitch over who is better. Enjoy them for their great talent. I personally think Buddy Guy is as good a player as ever picked up a guitar. Most of the great guitarist themselves list Buddy as the best or one of the top 5. To each his own. Some are just too young to understand man..just too young.
I don't think any musician in the world has more fun performing than Buddy. His default expression is a massive grin. God bless the man and I hope he lives to be 100.
WE WANT MORE BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive died and gone to Blues heaven!!! No wonder he was the inspiration for Clapton and Hendrix ! ..... Stunnying...
American heros come in every color ❤
what I don't understand is why the hell you were even here, if you dislike Buddy that much.. leave us all in peace!! we love him, and you are bringing us down!!

Buddy is the best ever...regardless of the songs he chooses to play. Just doesn't get any better when it comes to the Chicago Sound
I seen Buddy last year at Wolftrap, in Vienna, Va.. He was a REAL crowd pleaser. He actually walked thru the entire audiance, while playing and singing!!! That song must have lasted 20 minutes!!! Great solo by Scott. They're all super tight..
Buddy acts so nice when he sings then he starts to solo and its like right in your face!!
thank you for making me feel better buddy!
Don't try to tell people what is good or bad.. Just listen to what you like, and support these musicians though going to see their live shows, or purchasing their media.
Everyone likes something different, don't try to TELL people what is good or bad.. just listen, and keep negative comments to yourself.
Wow Buddy was just unreal. Aside from being the best he was a natural showman. You rarely ever see a combination of the 2.
love this song, buddy is the man
Dude, he did the same thing in Eugene, OR - so fucking amazing - this guy is the quint essential blues master... even Clapton says he's the best and favorite guitar player alive.

I have a signed Strat by Buddy from the 2004 Tampa bay Blues Fest when he used my bud Reese Wynans and Chris and Tommy from SRV.
such a good live performer with tons of charisma....a classic
Such an amazing showman.
So love his voice ! and dam it I love this funky groove ! :-)
I laughed so hard at 3:05!
This guy is the man, thanks so much for posting this!
Going see him today in Mississippi.
I came home this morning
Oh what a shock
When I found out my key
No longer fit my lock
Oh baby
You just go right back out there where you've been
'Cause while you were slippin' out
Oh someone else was slippin' in
I thought I was your fool
That you could count on
One was right there
When no one else is at home
But oh baby
I think I found myself a new friend
But while you were slippin' out
Oh Lord, someone else was slippin' in
Now cry your heart out
Oh you don't mean a thing to me
I'm a brand new man
And you can plainly see
A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair
This big smile you see on my face
You didn't put it there
I got a new way of wearin' my hair
This big smile on my face babe
You didn't put it there
Oh baby
You just take me back out there where you've been
'Cause while you were slippin' out
Someone else was slippin' in
Oh Lord
Now cry your heart out
Oh you don't mean a thing to me
I'm a brand new man
Even Stevie Wonder can see
A new way to walk people and of wearin' my hair
This big smile on my face baby
You didn't put it there
I got a new way of wearin' my hair
This big smile on my face
You didn't put it there
Oh baby
You just go right back out there where you've been
'Cause while you were slippin' out
Someone else was slippin' in
I said while you were slippin' out
Someone else was slippin' in
I said while you were slippin' out
Oh someone else was slippin' in
I said while you were slippin' out
Someone else was slippin' in

The BEST evah!
@monkeyy992
It's a Fender. Great guitar. Seems like most of the greats used Fender (other than Jimmy Page).
i ive seen a few vids with him in them
Buddy does that alot if you goto the SRV Tribute footage he does it again. He has a boost in the guitar, I believe Clapton has it too thats why he doesnt play with an overdrive pedal. Its like an active circuit built into the tone knob. He is awsome one of my favors besides Freddie King
@MwPrice102 Unique is definitely the best word to describe Buddy Guy.
Scott Holt has mildly changed his hairstyle since then. This was an AWESOME band to see live. Glad I saw them about 30 times.
Scotty Holt rips up the guitar too!
me too! see you there! haha
Electric scrambled eggs with a side of sustainus maximus. YUSS!
Does anyone know what's the name of the second guitarist?
One thing I've noticed is Blackwater , has not one video in his profile ....Hmmmmmm Enough said

@kristofor12345 I think the old record producer wanted him to sound like nat king cole or something..Buddy was saying in one of his old interviews
A bit slopy Buddy, you rock!!
the name of the guy playing 2nd guitar? not buddy ^^
Anyone who says that Buddy isnt one of the greatest guitarist ever..well..ah hell, why do we always have to compare and bitch over who is better. Enjoy them for their great talent.
