They say you gotta live the blues to play 'em, and Buddy's lived 'em. He's a natural born entertainer speaking his truth from the depths of his soul, and it resonates in the depths of our hearts. Play on Buddy!
John Hiatt is grossly under-appreciated as a songwriter/musician. He is a treasure, please seek out his beautiful catalogue of amazing songs and story telling.
I saw Buddy and Band 20 some years ago in Melbourne. What a LEGEND - he is still playing his heart out. F... awesome. I cried tears of joy listening to his playing, it was so beautiful, soulful, gut-wrenching - and wow, I can't describe. Visceral, ethereal .... Thx for posting... :)
It doesn't get any better than this " Take a killer John Hiatt song and true it GOLD with that voice." Buddy Guy is an awesome talent!!! Never received the honors he deserved. What's up with that audience?,. they're experiencing TRUE feelings and guitar vocalizing from a master!
Buddy going to get them into the music whether they want to or not. It's the greatest part about him. He's not just a guitar player. He's an entertainer
At Ben and Jerrys rock festival Sugarbush VT (some 30 years back!) they had a kids play area near the stage. Our boy was up there and so we came up too - Buddy walked right up in the middle of this song (jam) and let our son strum the guitar! That was Peak Buddy!
People who’ve never saw this guy in his prime really missed out on the absolute best guitarist and pure entertainer there ever was in blues music history …
I definitely enjoyed watching him play this a few years ago at meadow brook theater in Michigan very awesome performance I seen him do things with a guitar 🎸 that I didn’t know you could do very wonderful
Buddy's shirt is almost as beautiful as the man himself. I've seen him twice, the second time was at a blues festival - he put on a killer of a show! Buddy and Dick Dale are the two most intense and loudest/baddest strat players I have witnessed live. On that note, I love how BG just rides the guitar volume to get sweet soul filled quieter passages and turns all the way up to crash the audience with a wipe out of sonic bliss.
Hey drone flyers you made one mistake in your comments implying that Bonnie Raitt is a mid level slide guitar player, why do you think all the old school blues masters occasionally ask her to guest star at their concerts and it's not cause she's a mid-level guitar player
I met the love of my entire life while listening to this song her name is Melissa dawn conner .just someone with the most amazing electrifying smile and the prettiest eyes that just had to be blue ....you are everything to me mind body and spirit I love you GIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRLLLLLL
Saw Buddy Guy live with Santana and BB King in 1992. buddy came right up to my brother and I in the grass section on the lawn. he wailed on that guitar, he had women screaming all around him, I remember this one white woman walked up to him and screamed buddy! And as he played that guitar she wiped the sweat off his brow, and he said thank you baby! Then slowly jammed his way back up stage the crowd following him. Then my brother turned to me and started screaming buddy f****** guy!! Came right up to us and played the guitar! For the next 10 minutes in my face LOL
is that tony Z on organ? Ive only seen him in a couple photos along time ago- sort of looks like it and definately sounds like it. I have seen buddy a number of times since the early 80s and saw him with jr wells twice. My business partner hung out with him before a show about 10 years ago and he wanted to talk about his garden at home- particularly about tomatoes - the album he did with jimbo mathis Sweet Tea is so heavy and groove oriented its sick. Feels like rain is brilliant HA!
You look at the coment someone left under me and he felt the same way. During the song Buddy was trying to get the audiance to sing along and the crowd was dead. I'm sure they liked the show but i know from being a musician for years playing out for over 30 years when a crowd responds loud it gives a great feeling. But when they look dead and just give soft golf claps i would rather being doing something else even if the money was good.
Just your average blues crowd these days.. They think they are clever because they treat fine music like fine wine.. Blues isn't wine.. It's whisky and heroin mainlined into the dick.
@@TREYOLDHIPPIE unlike most americans ! a high percentage of Europeans do speak enough english to understand what Buddy Guy says to them ! ..they are just a reserved audience ! ..in true Swiss fashion !
Buddy Guy is truly an old school old school blues master and a true entertainer who should be considered a National treasure
Without a doubt

This man is still amazing at his live shows ,at +80 years old.
He is catching up with me.

Magnificence personified..there is nobody like him , utterly mesmerizing.
Nobody sings and plays guitar 🎸 like Buddy. Great entertainer.
Great. One of a kind.
When a song should go on forever❗🤗
There is nothing in the world like a Hammond organ being played like that
Man that organ solo is legendary. So funky I can smell it.

Oh man❗ How do one compliment such excellence⁉️💯👌🏿🤗😎
His voice is just as good as his guitar skills.
John Hiatt wrote it, Buddy made it his own. Buddy's version was the first dance my wife and I had at our wedding reception. Our song.
I LOVE THAT STORY..
It's a rainy day in NW Louisiana and I'm jamming this at my desk..

Buddy Guy IS an awesome talent, still active on stage at the age of 86!
BB King, Buddy Guy, and Muddy Waters....Blues legends!!!

Tony Zamagni - Keyboards yes yes yes
Buddy going to get them into the music whether they want to or not. It's the greatest part about him. He's not just a guitar player. He's an entertainer
When Buddy tells you to sing, just sing.
Beautiful artist sings right there, and those people not connecting with him. That's a damn shame.
Buddy Guy is an American Treasure
Buddy Guy look at his face. The guy is happy.

A man and his music. Love you Buddy….
many equals in blues music but none better than Buddy Guy.
I've seen him 5 times, after Saturday it will be 6. And I was honored to meet him at his blues club Legends, in Chicago. He's as awesome as his music!
Love The player and the song...!! Speaks to my soul thanks Mr. Hiyatt!

Wow. Amazing!
What in the hell is wrong with the audience??? I would be singing and hollering and dancing in the aisles!!!!! Damn..........
Probably mesmerized and can't but absorb the master at work
Exactly 😂
should have gone to Montreux rather than Bern maybe....
They are Swiss 🤷♂️😉
Ikr they are so lucky to have sat there in front of an absolute legend like it’s just not fair
You can't talk great blues men and not think of buddy right at the top of all time

MY oh MY ...I know he singing about rain ...but shit , this is FULL ON SUNSHINE !!!!! and a HUGE SMILEY !!
The recorded version is perfect - with the Bonnie Raitt slide guitar. Any mid-level guitarist can learn this song and also jam to it.
Hey drone flyers you made one mistake in your comments implying that Bonnie Raitt is a mid level slide guitar player, why do you think all the old school blues masters occasionally ask her to guest star at their concerts and it's not cause she's a mid-level guitar player
What a treasure …
I saw him live at the Clio Amphitheater in Michigan. Wow! Feels Like Rain as the rain poured down and lightning flashed and Buddy just kept playing!
The Blues... Best treatment ever💙💙💙

what's the name of the genius playing the piano?
"Tony Zamagni"
a youtube favorite
Hell yes. This shit gets way down.
Buddy sounds a little like Solomon Burke. My dad loves this guy. Cheaper to keep her was one of my dad's favorites.
this guy or BUDDY Guy
Yeah Buddy made quite a few songs sound like they were his😊
he's just good
Great
je che artist ! Mamm !
HEY HE'S GOT MY SHIRT ON.
nobody but the Guy
Is that a Bogner Ecstasy 50 I see behind you??
I'd sing it with you Buddy!
For me, nothing beats Aaron Neville and his brothers doing this song. But Buddy, is pretty damn fine!
He was so mad because they didn't sing along xD.
I don't think this was filmed in the USA
mad is the wrong word ! how about SAD ?
Gotta 💘 that Organ solo. WoW!
