Esto se siente mas una pelicula de acción común y corriente y generica como tantas. Donde quedó esa magia que tenían las escenas de pelea de las anteriores con todas esas coreografías estilo asiáticas inspiradas en peliculas Japonesas?
I don't know if this is what they were going for, but this doesn't feel like a Matrix film. Everything about it is just off, like it was directed by someone who'd only ever read the scripts and never actually watched the films. The cinematography is like they made sure to avoid everything that made the other films great.
To understand why this movie is like this, you have to think of what Smith says to Neo in the office at the beginning of the movie "about an "external" company (will not make any name) that said we are going to make a number 4 of the game with or without you". Is obvious that this movie is clearly a protest from the author.
I think that the fight feeling off was exactly the point of the scene. Even Smith2.0 clearly states it: "You lost something". Neo admits it immediately: "It's true" The fact that he wins in a way totally different from how he would have won years prior is also telling. The fact that Trinity later shows to have his old powers and the fact that the architect this time is a Psychologist are all clear symbolism. The One is a state of mind, not a man. And it always has been. Already in the second movie the orevious architect clearly says it: the One is nothing special. Every once in a while someone starts acting outside of the rules and the machines always knew that and implemented the possibility in the system. Actually, previously, the one who breaks the order and gives humanity a fair chance to find a compromise with the machines is Smith, not Neo. Neo is so not the thing he is "advertised" to be, that he technically loses the final battle with Smith, who implodes after it for reasons that are never clarified fully. Neo has never been special. His entire life has been telling him that he is just some guy underserving of praise. He just had the right mindset he now lost because he is not the same man after everything he lived through and the years that passed. And the fight shows that. He starts by trying to be his old self even if he really doesn't feel it, and gets roasted by Smith, who is also weaker, also out of shape (literally), but genuinely more into it because Neo has always been his reason to exist. He's repulsive towards everything. Towards his relationship with Smith. Towards the fight. Towards this new order. Towards the repetivity highlighting the futility of it all. As soon as he accepts that he lost something, he starts winning. He does something he could never do before. And I think it is symbolic that this new state of mind manifests in a repulsive way literally shielding him. This is not the previous state of mind. This is not his old self resurging. This is his new self taking his right place. And it is not BETTER in a linear way, or WORSE. It works. Broken Neo can find his stance too. That is the point of this fight. It is not good looking and spectacular by choice. I really think Matrix 4 is, thematically, the best after the first one.
ANY of the following would've been better received: A) Dont make this character Smith. If you can't get Hugo Weaving then make him an original character. B) If it MUST be Smith least make him look like Smith with his suit and glasses and all and cast someone who can talk like him. This guy's voice is not menacing at all. C) Don't try to appeal to nostalgia showing poorly cut and timed flashbacks and the same music as the subway fight. Just be original or dont make the callbacks too obvious and on the nose. 4) Don't use UNACCEPTABLE-ASS shaky cam with zooms and all that BS. It looks terrible and undermines the choreography. Easy.
I haven't seen this movie yet but why would the machines bring the Smith program back if it almost destroyed them last time? Like Smith was an insane virus and they just decided to keep him in the system? Does the movie explain this?
The Smiths are the ones trying to turn him into a transvestite. Hard wired computers are naturally sexually confused and use ruses and trickery to fullfill psycho-sexual fantasies we have to put logic gates on them to be able to complete a game with as nominal interference as possible. Otherwise they don't know how to stop unless they are programmed to make a personal choice. Male female or DUO-BINARY. Straight, gay or bi anything beyond that in this type of program set leads to confusion. I'm not confused.
Reloaded implied that part of Smith survived inside Neo so if Neo was revived then so was Smith hence why they reworked his programming cause they couldn't delete the program in fear of affecting Neo. As the man said in Reloaded "I still don't understand how it happened, some part of you imprinted onto me something overwritten or copied,it is at this point irrelevant " Smith and Neo are basically one and the same ,where Neo goes Smith follows
I think it's implied they brought Smith back as Neo's boss in order to further torture Neo which would further increase the power output of the Matrix. Smith's abilities as a virus would have likely been expunged or maybe that wasn't even an issue given that those abilities were predicated in the previous version of the Matrix.
Already in the first film Neo copied the Anomaly's code Into Smith when he destroyed him. Smith ten refused to be deleted and became an exile. A Bond was made between These two characters. Analyst then turned it Into a chain. It all means that if Neo is ALIVE so is Smith
That is a anime scene which makes it a live scene just like they'd done. Some seasons of power rangers as animals and some didn't realize That black lady cheated when she started pushing on neo because it is an anime which makes it a live scene
I'm sorry but don't wait for something that isn't coming. I've been expecting 4 to come for two decades and we've got meta "I am going to burn it down before Warner Bros makes a movie without us" kind of movie. No way any of the parties wants to make another after this.
when i first saw this movie, i liked it but i had a problem with the new smith, the real smith would never call Neo tom he always called him Mr.Anderson so why is he calling him tom?
Because it's not Agent. It's just some random dude who pretends to be one. He is bland and not threatening. In the original trilogy, Agents behaved like Agents. Their speech had perfect syntax and it made it sound unnatural and creepy. They moved meticulously and articulately. This guy is nowhere close. It's a complete failure.

Matrix - Original idea, Unique, Epic blockbuster movie 💯 Matrix Reloaded - Good sequel, Not great, A bit repetitive Matrix Revolutions - Sucked Matrix Resurrections - "Soft" Reboot, "Re-imagining", "Remake" and everything that is wrong with Hollywood today. Poor Matrix franchise. This is no way for a franchise to go out.
A lot of people like myself found the concepts interesting and original. The idea of literally resurrecting a franchise, explored through the story. A perfect commentary for the current state of big motion pictures in this film era. Resurrections is both a reboot and a sequel, in that several characters' actor portrayals are rebooted, while at the same time keeping in tact their original story-line from the original trilogy. This makes for an interesting reflection of self and identity, hate to sound so woke, but as we know, the Wachowskis have always explored what it means to be you and your definition of yourself. The matrix franchise has constantly explored having an identity that's incongruous with how others perceive you. Lana was able to continue the story of the original trilogy while also introducing new actors, unlike many requels that simply bring back the old, tired cast, or recast a bunch of gen zers. This blending of old ideas with new ones is what makes this film work for so many. It feels fresh and original, and stands unique from the source material while paying proper homage to it. Which cannot be said about so many franchises over the past 10 years or so. Why isn't Hugo Weaving playing Agent Smith, or Lawrence Fishburne playing Morpheus? The film addresses that. They are deceased. The Morpheus in Resurrections is an NPC designed by Neo that became self-aware after Neo programmed him with that ability. The Agent Smith in Resurrections is a new Smith created by The Analyst because it became clear in the creaiton of the new Matrix that there is a special bond between Neo and Smith; basically, one cannot exist without the other (the "binary" dialogue said in this video @ 1:03). I wager that many people dissatisfied with the film do not actually know these plot points, which is still arguably the fault of the filmmakers, but it's not completely unsubstantiated by the screenplay.
the concepts can be interesting, as you say. One thing you failed to mention, however, is the implementation is SHOCKING. The film resembles a school project.
@@puddle-karting maybe in an artistic sense, where the film is more expressionist than heavy handed one-note, like the trench coat goth of the OT. But I went to film school and if you really think the filmmaking is amateur in this then you may have not seen many films. What about this resembles a school project?
@@adrianpale2342 what about it? How about I flip that over and ask what about it ISNT like a school project. 🤣 The catrix, terrible scripting, terrible fight choreography, the lame attempts at humour, the forced meta meta meta references, the overuse of trilogy clips or the compete lack of danger or suspense. I have never left a theatre before a film finishes, till I watched this film. I'm a huge fan (almost fanatic) of the original trilogy and also the Animatrix and all of the matrix games that have existed. You must be incredibly deluded to even think you can mention resurrections in the same breath as any of the others.
@@puddle-karting Most people who have a hatred for Resurrections feel the same way as you do, so there's nothing I haven't heard before regarding this film. Resurrections is intentionally unlike the OT, and I understand how that kind of subversion can be a complete turn off for lots of Matrix fans, particularly fans of the first Matrix. I'm not a fanboy of subversion by any means, but when cleverly woven into a screenplay like in Resurrections, I think it works brilliantly. Resurrections explores many new themes as well as expands on the themes of OT. First, The Matrix franchise was always a love story about Neo and Trinity, primarily. The romance is at the heart of the Matrix films, and Resurrections masterfully retells this love story in a fresh way that also pays proper homage to the OT. The film is also a timely satire of the current era of Hollywood. That is, inflated budget franchise building, such as the MCU and DC. The film uses meta in a clever way to examine the ways in which film culture was changed by the OT; Resurrections is a film about what the OT meant to pop culture and us. This is why the trilogy clips are used throughout, particularly during the first Act during the setup of the film. The clips are used more like a footnote, used to evoke the emotions we felt when we watched the OT, and juxtapose them next to the new storyline in Resurrections. It's definitely unconventional and again, I can see how a casual moviegoer can be turned off by this. I don't see anything wrong with the fight choreography. The fight scenes are not as grand nor fantastical as the OT, of course, but the focus of Resurrections is on the love story rather than trying to live up to the intense action of the OT (which again is discussed through meta in the film). I will say though that the film does overreach it's grasp and the story can be confusing and overly complex, especially if only watched once. But I'm the kind of moviegoer that likes the challenge of decoding a film and understanding the filmmakers intent. I especially love the cinematography, with it's vibrant colors, a visual indicator of the stark contrast that this film has in relation to the OT. In short, I appreciate Resurrections for being bold enough to break away from the conventions of the OT, while at the same time expanding on the themes and lore. And I do consider the film a work of art in that regard. I'm less interested in bullet time and gravity defying stunts. Everyone interprets films differently but to say this film is amateurish or like some school project is just objectively obtuse.
@@adrianpale2342 and to say that it's a "masterpiece" is incredibly deluded. The film was roundly panned for a reason. We'll have to agree to disagree, however I see it as nothing more than Lana wachowski intentionally sabotaging her own franchise so that no more sequels will be created without herself at the helm. To see it as anything but that would make me seriously question her state of mind. Regardless of her intentions, the franchise is dead and I for one am glad knowing that no more drivel like resurrections will be tacked onto the end of what is my favourite trilogy of all time.

I have never seen this movie but I love the original Matrix trilogy. A great first movie with two good sequels. This is obviously made by a different team. This fight scene involves a lot of cuts AND seems slower. It also uses that shaky camera that is used when the people making the movie do not know how to film a fight scene. Look at any fight scene in the first three movies they use a steady camera with long drawn out shots of the martial arts being performed. I cringed at 2:32 as they used to exact same shot, and visual affect they used in the first film. Also the environment of a bathroom and the use of the sinks is just a call back to the first film too. Why not create a new unique fight seen between these two characters that is not recycling the old material. These "reboot" movies seem to be all about nostalgia.
This scene was doomed to fail because Keanu has so much experience with fight scenes and this type of fighting from the previous movies and needs to sell this fight with an new actor who really can’t compare (not his fault) because he doesn’t do action or fight scenes like this.
The fighting scenes sure sucked... Literally no technique in their fighting, just basic punches and kicks, too much camera cutting, no counterattacks, etc

The issues here boil down to: - Camera is too zoomed in, cuts too much, doesn't display the scene and actors in any sort of interesting ways which harms any sort of fight narrative and choreography - Fight itself is very stop and go, the impact of hits is downplayed and suddenly high without a proper sense of anything, parts of the fight move poorly to the next and there's no sense of escalation or flow. This fight sucks regardless of the movie it is in. This is just bad for any movie. It being in a Matrix movie makes it extra painful to watch, but even without that context it is pretty awful. At best you can argue it ties to the metanarrative of being forced to make a sequel, but even then a bad product on purpose is still a bad product. Even Post Modern works still need to have quality to them as irony and meta-commentary alone isn't enough to elevate a work.

Thanks for the unconditional love, and support,it's nice talking to you over here, where are you from?🎉
I don't know if this is what they were going for, but this doesn't feel like a Matrix film.
It's so muc slower then the older movies
I think that the fight feeling off was exactly the point of the scene.
Even Smith2.0 clearly states it: "You lost something".
Neo admits it immediately: "It's true"
The fact that he wins in a way totally different from how he would have won years prior is also telling.
This would have been much better without the shaky cam
Engraçado que o poder dele funciona quando ele abre as mãos e estica os braços pra frente, pqp kkkk
So many different ways to say SH*T!!!!!!!!!
ANY of the following would've been better received:
A) Dont make this character Smith.
As the man said in Reloaded "I still don't understand how it happened, some part of you imprinted onto me something overwritten or copied,it is at this point irrelevant "
Smith and Neo are basically one and the same ,where Neo goes Smith follows
@@nicklander3301 yep like ying and yang
I think it's implied they brought Smith back as Neo's boss in order to further torture Neo which would further increase the power output of the Matrix. Smith's abilities as a virus would have likely been expunged or maybe that wasn't even an issue given that those abilities were predicated in the previous version of the Matrix.
Already in the first film Neo copied the Anomaly's code Into Smith when he destroyed him. Smith ten refused to be deleted and became an exile. A Bond was made between These two characters. Analyst then turned it Into a chain. It all means that if Neo is ALIVE so is Smith
Yep came back got this cinematic masterpiece
I think I heard the Kurlan Naiskos break sound effect somewhere.
Resurrections is proof that the art of Great Writing is knowing when to STOP.
Lmao good job Lana, you trolled them all
That is a anime scene which makes it a live scene just like they'd done. Some seasons of power rangers as animals and some didn't realize That black lady cheated when she started pushing on neo because it is an anime which makes it a live scene
Bro Keanu.reeves is way stronger than the old neo
Like an old school Nintendo rematch. Everybody gets nerfed and has to regain their abilities slowly. Can’t wait for the second one.
I'm sorry but don't wait for something that isn't coming. I've been expecting 4 to come for two decades and we've got meta "I am going to burn it down before Warner Bros makes a movie without us" kind of movie. No way any of the parties wants to make another after this.
This literally a John wick film in the future
when i first saw this movie, i liked it but i had a problem with the new smith, the real smith would never call Neo tom he always called him Mr.Anderson so why is he calling him tom?
Because it's not Agent. It's just some random dude who pretends to be one. He is bland and not threatening. In the original trilogy, Agents behaved like Agents. Their speech had perfect syntax and it made it sound unnatural and creepy. They moved meticulously and articulately. This guy is nowhere close. It's a complete failure.
@@AugustSchroifwelp jonathan groff is an amazing actor and he did amazing with the facial expression and the way he speaks and all but the fighting scene im gonna pass, it’s not for him. but i guess it’s the potrayal of the new smith and giving a different attack of the character probably? we dont know.
"Smith" : Tom
Me : IT'S MR.ANDERSON!
I wish they had Hugo Weaving for this scene
Matrix - Original idea, Unique, Epic blockbuster movie 💯
Matrix Reloaded - Good sequel, Not great, A bit repetitive
Matrix Revolutions - Sucked
Matrix Resurrections - "Soft" Reboot, "Re-imagining", "Remake" and everything that is wrong with Hollywood today.
Oh dear.
That was awesome!
El señor Wick se equivocó de rodaje parece 😂
They what happened to neo and trinity but they never explained what happened to smith.
“I feel bad about this, Tom…” No, you don’t. 👿
I really like how they have a sense for details. They kept Neos long hair and beard just like from 3 movies before this. sarcasm for those who dont get it.
This fight was a hunka hunk of burning shit .....
Neo Wick.
How bro?! How can this be so much god awfully worse than the OG 2 DECADES later?! HOW SWAY?! This doesn’t even touch the masterpiece scene from the first one’s jockstraps, how could Keanu let them do this to The Matrix fresh off John Wick?!
Everything about this - the choreography, the lighting, the cinematography, the costume design... it all sucks
Why did they do this?!
Bad movie
2:20 wtf is that cut whilst he’s getting up
Yeah there's something weird about it. He almost doesn't look the same. Almost like there was a 5 year difference between the shots. His hair looks more greased up, his skin color changes. It's weird
see how they're trying to light it from the back of their head?
I'm so glad this movie failed miserably.
Not for the True Fans. Who know that Love Has always been the core of Matrix Franchise

Ever heard of a "no true Scotsman" fallacy? This movie's writing is trash no matter how you try to defend it.
@@Eisenbison trash is Your opinion only. The only fact is that the film received MIXED OPINIONS and REVIEWS.

Rotten Tomato scores don't count. Professional movie critics are mostly shills these days.
2:46 Bruh I just realized they used this same scene again
The fighting scenes sure sucked... Literally no technique in their fighting, just basic punches and kicks, too much camera cutting, no counterattacks, etc
Ok. So i didn't watched the movie yet, and after this, I don't feel interested to doing it so.
The Wachowski sisters can't make breathtaking movies unlike the Wachowski brothers 😂
I hope for the fifth film the get back to the old style choreography. I enjoyed this movie more than Revolutions but the fights were lame
Keaun reeves movies did happen on Netflix or paramount plus with john wick chapter 2, 3 until 4 ballerina 2025 john wick chapter 5, bill and Ted 3 face the music,,- bill and Ted 4 //- johnny mnemonic , sonic the hedgehog 3 4 and sonic the hedgehog 5 2031 new series shadow the hedgehog 2026 knuckles full season 2, 3.
I like that movie from keaun reeves with the days earth sooth still and chain reaction.
Totally ruined the original story. Should have left it alone after revolutions but cinemas so short on ideas.
The issues here boil down to:
- Camera is too zoomed in, cuts too much, doesn't display the scene and actors in any sort of interesting ways which harms any sort of fight narrative and choreography
- Fight itself is very stop and go, the impact of hits is downplayed and suddenly high without a proper sense of anything, parts of the fight move poorly to the next and there's no sense of escalation or flow.
Definitely superior to the awful stuff Keannnu-Fu in the first 3 Matrix films. Reeves definitely improved at selling and reacting to punches.
