Happy New Years Ari Just bought the Subaru Outback Touring XT 24 for 9% off MSRP in NY. This is the second time you have helped me with your videos. Bmw M3 Competition back in 2019 and now. Keep up the amazing work.
I was working with Granger Ford on the Big Bronco during the reservation period. They were great to work with, but sadly because of Ford's screw-ups I finally gave up on ever getting the truck built. But, Granger was there for every question, and answered quickly. They were up front with the answers with absolutely none of the BS you get from some dealers. I highly recommend them if you're looking for an F-150.
I just purchased a used 2020 F150 XLT extended cab with towing (both must haves) along with a lot of other nice options with 22,000 miles three months ago. I would have preferred a different color but I can live with it. Price was approximately 22% off the 2020 window sticker. There were rather extensive price increases in 2021, 2022, and 2023. I looked for almost a year and considered buying new but a stripped down 2023 XL was running $10,000 to $15,000 more. I calculated the price for my truck at 2024 prices would have been around $60K. Your pricing information was spot on.
The last new f150 I bought was in 2013 and while it took almost all day to make the deal I ended up getting it at 28% of the MSRP...the sales manager told me they might not have made any money but they kept me from going to another dealership that was about 8 miles from them and buying but I had already went there and actually dealt with a friend who worked there and got they're best deal and the dealership I bought from beat it by 3k and my friend was actually a little pissed at me lol I said it's not personal it's business...the sales manager told it's not always about making money but simply just moving units.
@@SliderFury1you are living in 2010 my friend. I agree the trucks are over priced but you will never see the prices you are talking about again. I just bought an Xlt that had a 66k window sticker but paid 55k. Platinums are 75-80k. But that xlt truck has more features than a lariat or platinum from 7-10 years ago.
2010 clt crew cab 4x4 you could get for under $30k all day. MSRP was $32k and there were big discounts. never say never, prices are coming down big time@@techchase101
I want a 7.2kW PowerBoost XLT or Lariat. A 2023 F-150 would need 30% off MSRP to get me out of bed. Dealers will be swimming in 2023s for months as 2024 inventory builds. Meanwhile Chevy and RAM are also building inventories. IMO $60K trucks is a big scam that's finally being called out.
Owned a 1995 F-350 XLT for 19 years, (construction purposes) sold it due to gas prices raising, Then I bought a 2014 F-150 XLT Eco Boast with tow package. Now I was thinking of buying a F-250 XLT, but with all the horror stories of recalls, I'm afraid to get a new one. I also plan on keeping my 2014 truck for a ranch truck.
I was looking to get a f150 lariat 5.0L. I was thinking new because ford is offering 1.9% interest rate at 72months. I’m the type of person that keeps a vehicle forever. I did look at used 21 model for 42-45k but the interest rates are so much higher for used I didn’t see much a difference in the payment.
If it’s possible I would appreciate it you did this for the Canadian car/truck market! Dealerships here are jacking up the prices like there’s no tomorrow lol
It is really simple in Canada, at least till now. You waited for the big discount, up to approx. 16k on a loaded truck (the best offer I had on a 23' was 18k off on a Limited). There were deals to be had last year, and likely again on the current 2023's as the 24's start to show up. The dealership I was dealing with most tried to tell me those deals were gone, but there weren't, so I went elsewhere. I bought a loaded 23 lariat sport blacked out, got 16k off the sticker price. I have a 24' on order, waiting to see what they will do on the swap... only 6,000 kms on my 23' so far. A price increase is to be expected, everything else is up. Some Toyota cars are up 10%. The 2024 should be up a little (to be expected on a refresh), we'll just have to wait and see how much. I am taking a chance, but I can still walk away and wait for a bigger discount. A lot of 23' trucks showed up in the last few weeks, and I would assume there will be discounts to be had on them. If you want a 24', I don't expect a big break for a little while, but I think they will come again. Look at the other guys, they are discounting the 24's to sell as many as possible before the Ford shows up. Ford will have to drop the price to compete. Last I checked, I could have bought a new 24' Chevy with the same deals they had been offering on a 23'... that tells me something. Everyone is after market share, the economy is getting stronger again and the dealers will want to move vehicles. One more detail, I am surprised how many electric 'trucks' are on the lots. The government is pushing, but the people are saying screw you! :)
In Canada, I just saw a dealer dropping prices, some models about 20% off MSRP. 2023 Lariat was $85K now down to $70k. So it starting to go in the right direction, but thinking it will get even better into spring. Although there may be a few people that will start to bite on these.
Funny because my brother in law has one as well with 205,000kms and the 2.7 Ecoboost and its been in at least twice for timing chain and phaser issues.
The price of the XLT is about 102% more expensive than what I paid for my 2015 xlt BRAND NEW! This market is at it's end, inflation didn't go up 102% in those 8 years.
I enxed up going chevy 2500. Didn't like what I saw from the other 2. Owned Rams for years and the bad transmissions, electrical issues, and lack of real fixes for issues like the hemi manifold bolts was insane
I got a short bed reg cab 4x4 eco boost XL in June after months of waiting for discounts. $37320 got $7000 off retail sticker. There were like 50 of these in the mpls metro at the time. You’re scaring me though dude.
i got a 2020 xl f150 for 27k otd after everything they had 6k in incentives on labor day and it even had the 2.7 which was an upgrade back then, my truck actually gained value after the 1st year
I Ordered and bought my 2022 Mustang Mach1 from Granger Ford for 2% under invoice. They are awesome to work with, I came in with pre-approved USAA loan and they had no problem with that, and only charged $85 in fees, plus a few more bucks for a temp Iowa registration so I could drive it back to California. Great dealer and people, and saved about $7400 over local dealers, not including the ADM's they were all asking for. Granger Ford, Highly Recommended!
The other thing to consider with this segment is the engine reliability. GM V8 engines in this segment have been experiencing lifter failures because of cylinder deactivation and there isn't any real way to mitigate that. Ram also has been experiencing a lot of lifter issues, but the right kind of maintenance can improve that. Ford has had issues with oil consumption on their 5.0 liter V8 but that seems to have tapered off after 2021 and they've been using the same engine for around 12 years. Which is usually a good sign. Reliability should factor in to the decision as well as availability of parts for the long game.
@@Stantagious yes they did. But everyone else implemented it earlier, which gave Ford the chance to see what designs work and don't work with it. It can be deleted, anyway.
The stealership in my town (eastern NC) is still getting new 2023 deliveries everyday (January 11th). I have made up my mind I don’t want a Ford anymore, the current one I’m driving is a 2014 F150 extended cab XL 4x4 5.0 3.73 101A Pkg. It has 200k miles and going strong. They don’t make them like it anymore. I played around at Fords Website on spec-ing a 2024…..4x4 Super Crew XL 5.0 3.73 I don’t need or want a lot of options just a truck to tow and work with. WELL if my configuration you can’t get the heavy towing/payload package, can’t get towing mirrors, can’t get trailer brake controller. So forget it Ford…..I’ll try and find a low mileage 2021 Toyota Tundra
I've talked to several people that own their own business that will not touch Fords because of the price and they badly need new work trucks. He rather buy used right now and deal with the problems. Then pay what they're asking for new ones i'm in the same boat I do need a new truck but I will not pay 50 60,000 just for a base unit. The price has to be far lower. I'm hoping that Ford will release the cheaper trucks that they're working on those will go like hotcakes. But as far as I'm concerned because of the price the Ford F-150 no longer the best selling truck
I bought a 2021 Lariat 4x4 last weekend. Original window sticker $67k, it was 47k for me. Only 25,000 miles and certified. 2024 Lariat was $75k, and they offered 1.9%. Still not worth it to me
You should partner up with @CarEdge, with Ray and Zach 👍 Also, anybody who's looking to buy F150, first consider the recalls they had on major components.
@@raywalteroutdoorsObviously you haven't listened to CarEdge channel. At the same time, this channel, or at least the website, is affiliated with Boston Consulting Group. Which leads me to unsub from this and stick with CE because they're independent.
@Matt_K I've watched more videos than I can count. Titles are clickbait and most of the data is regurgitated from Cox news releases that you can easily read without all the extra talk. Dad is great. Son is annoying.

@Matt_K I never said I didn't like. Ray is amusing and knowledgeable. I enjoy being told to buy now... no wait buy in 6 months.... the world is crashing.... buy now..no wait. I am very smart with my income and refuse to buy in this market but the average car buyer, especially those who rely on social media to make financial decisions, may get confused by their message even though their intent is to help.
I agree, buy used. I priced out a 24 XL with no options and it came in at $47K! To make matters worse they offered me $4700 for my 13 V-8 4X4. The special order and pre trade was a nice option and the balloon payment options were nice as well.
Just factory ordered a 2025 F-150 STX with the 5.0 coyote V8. Not worried about depreciation at all. When you pay cash and plan on keeping the truck for the entirety of it's useful life, depreciation is a non-issue. And no way am I buying "new" 24's that have lot rot.
Excellent. That was my reasoning. I bought a Lariat 502 with Coyote new in 2019, when they offered the Silver Spruce green, $16,000 off, equivalent to the options I factory ordered. With today's prices, I'm glad I bought then. I'm keeping it
Just found your channel. Dec, bought a chevy high country 6.2. Has everything even super cruise. Got 5 grand off sticker (78,000)16,000 for my trade (13 avalanche) put a little more down 1.9 for 36. No sales tax, and I don't have to worry about pistions. This Chevy dealer has grantee lifetime warranty in writing for every car truck engine they sell. Camaro engine Dual mode exhaust mag ride and can be a work horse 13,000 towing pickup truck anytime.
Working hard to buy 2023 f250 here in dec 2023 start of Jan 2024 in Dallas. Truck capital state. They are all sold. Ones I watch sell frequent. Nothing ages. I don’t see that with 150s. I see many 6 and some 9 month old 150s. I just can’t get break on f250. I might have to pay MSRP for 2024 f250 in early Jan.
I bought a 23 silverado 2500 HD when 24s were just coming out and they lowered the price for a few months .....$7500 off and 3.9%...HD dont follow other markets....higher demand than supply and hold their value pretty well
Canada here. Bought a 22 lariat 31k kms, for 25,000 less than the original window sticker. Like new and still has over a yr warranty left. This man is correct when he says buy a good used truck and let someone else take the 20 percent loss
Yeah but dealerships are offering close to 20% off of new 2023’s right now. I’m in Edmonton and just yesterday the dealership quoted me $6,000 off sticker for a new, “special-order” 2025 Lariat F150. That’s almost 8% off and without haggling. I plan to get about 6 dealerships bidding for my business when I decide to take the plunge. I’m pissed at Ford. For 2025…. the Lariat models come with manual tilt/telescopic steering. “Electric” was standard in 2024….. yet they jacked the prices on the 2025’s and cheaped out on options. The sales-guy said they cut corners under the hood too by taking away all the plastic cladding/covers they used to have (not that I care about that crap). He also said 2024 Lariats came with the keypad entry… for 2025 it’s a chargeable option. Paying $90,000+ CAD for a Lariat and getting manual tilt/telescpoic is pretty stingy. I couldn’t believe it!
The 18% is based on typical mileage for USED trucks. The dealer owes more on that even with their holdback on new ones. Also, no dealer is going to offer everyone 4% under invoice. That is to draw people to their dealership and they would likely only offer deals on ordered trucks not current model year.
I’m looking for a used king ranch and the prices are slowly coming down , but I’m being patient. Also if you keep your truck for a long time make sure you buy the 5.p litre v8, not the ecoboost
I got about 13% off MSRP on my 23 F150 XLT 302A that stickered for about 61k back in August 2023. At least where I am there seems to be at least 8-10k of certain F150s but it seems to be only on XLTs because other trims to do not seems to have any discounts. Usually around here dealers stock up on STXs and XLTs and then when you see a Lariat it is usually fully loaded with every option, platinums are few in between, tremors if you find one are usually the not loaded version of the tremor and then only raptors you see are used and if there’s a new one on a lot it’s usually a custom order.
@@tatoo99999 my pricing is also fixed and I leased the truck as well. My discount comes from a family member whom is retired from ford so it’s fixed pricing for employees/ retirees or family members of them. Plus I am in NY where trucks still fly off the lot regardless, people have gone in and gotten quoted high 600+ for a lease and I’m at the lower end of 500. Plus my buy out price is still pretty good considering would you would get for them same price if you shopped for a used truck 3 yrs old. Do I wish I held out longer for more rebates a discounts? Probably but at that time I was getting out of another lease which I couldn’t complain considering they paid off the rest of that lease.
@@RedSizzlerlol fool you are trying to justify the scammed price/deal to cope with your purchase.. good riddance could’ve spent that money on more reliable brand like toyota… you just got played
@@Jimanderson124 ok your point is? Its my money and can do what I want with it. To be honest I like 4Runners but when you can’t find any new ones at all and have to wait almost year..no thanks. Besides I’ve owned many fords and they have all been reliable, most vehicles are reliable as long as you do maintenance.
The problem I have with buying used is the amount of miles that are on them for the prices. Say goodbye to about any warranty for saving about $5k in my area.
I am not sure why we aren’t talking about inflation as the main culprit here. Salaries haven’t increased because of course they haven’t, but everything else is going up and it’s not happening to all products at exactly the same rate because someone has to make the decision to increase. Companies will react at different speeds. Our money just isn’t worth what it was a few years ago.
I’m in the market for a new truck and in SW Virginia they can’t keep trucks on the lot for more than 3 days before they sell. I don’t see any build up of inventory in my area at all
Your videos are the best! Super helpful. However, the market is changing fast and I wish there was a way to get your up to date analysis closer to real time as that is most relevant for a buyer like me ready to pull the trigger. Inventories have changed since this video came out and I wonder if buying a used is still the right choice. Will fora start to discount more to move the 2024’s and how will that compare to your buy used recomendation??
I’m with you,buy used with low miles is the best deal especially when you loose 43% of its value from new in 4 years. Unfortunately there are a lot of people that don’t have the money to buy low miles used and they get caught in a never ending lease because 3 years from now your likely in the same predicament that you were in with the 1st truck then 3 years later same situation etc etc. Unfortunately if you add up all the money you’ve spent leasing over the next10 years or more leasing it will cost you a fortune, compared to buying used and staying on top of servicing your used truck properly ,you will be cheaper in the long run. I would love to have a new truck every 3 years but I can’t afford or do I want to have those lease payments for ever.
I bought a used 2022 XLT that was basically fully loaded in July 2023 that MSRP’d at 64,500 it only had 5000 miles on it and I picked it up for 54,000. Still high but the right used truck is definitely a better bet than getting gouged on the brand new trucks. I absolutely love it though
I was looking for a newer F150 XLT super crew 4x4 , but it is like buying a house with the prices so high. I'm 65, on SS disability and can not afford the pricing. I have a 2007 F150 XLT super Crew 4x4, starting to have issues, ABS Module and smooth running issues.
Currently in between a Tremor or Tundra TRD off-road. Used they are pretty similarly priced at mid 50s. I've been reading the Tundras are having quite a bit of issues after their remodel, though.
Buy the tundra and never look back. Ford is having so many macanical issues is stupid to buy one. The issues toyota is having are things like trim panels breaking nothing that will leave you stranded like the Ford.
What is the current market for the F150 XLT Power Boost 23/24 model Advice on best way to go if looking to purchase. What part of the country have the better offerings
King Ranch or Platinum was the 2024 target…may just sit it out and hold my 2014 Platinum a few more years. Was looking for a Limited, but they are slim pickins…
If there was so many why do I have to do a week or looking to find a dealership carrying a 5.0 4 wheel drive regular cab, and when I find one finally they are 2 hour drive, and they don’t even have the truck yet it’s in transit from another week
I usually get at least 10% below invoice in all my car purchases. I actually got close to 15% below invoice on a Toyota Highlander and a Silverado 1500. Go at the end of the month to all dealerships in your aria that sell the car. Go at the end of the month and “walk away”. Usually some desperate desk manager will fold and give you whatever you want as long as you buy the car before the end of the month. The dealership can loose a hell of a lot more money if they don’t make their numbers at the end of the month.

I have a 2018 F150 with 76k. Just had to put a new transmission in ‘er. I looked at trading in as is and I just didn’t see that I could do that and make out compared to the $7600 new trans. Maybe if I was a little more in the future, maybe that would have worked. Same deal with other brands like Toyota who, instead of transmissions they are blowing engines. Prices and loans are just too out of synch now to get deals.
My local Ford dealer just called me today, wanting me to come in for an appraisal on my 2019 Ranger with low miles. He’s hoping I’ll talk trade to “ upgrade” to something newer, and they are salivating at the thought of enticing me to buy something else. In my mind, I can hear the sales pitch coming already, but it’s not happening. Mine is paid for, and I don’t want a new anything….too expensive, too “ techie”, and too complicated. Prices on used vehicles are ridiculous, and prices on new vehicles are an abomination. I’m comfortable with no car payment,..so I thinK I’ll keep what I’ve got.
Dude, I saw a 2 year old Ram with like 36k miles for half the price of a new one. At the dealership. I just can't seriously consider buying a Ram. I tried to think about it, but no I can't.
Bought mine 3 month’s ago for $49000 at the door is XL STX now dealerships give me only $36000 is ridiculous the worst resale value in all the cars I am owned.
I Was looking for a 2024 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate and the asking price was 95,000, which is way too much. Im a owner of a 2020 GMC Sierra denali Ultimate and the price with taxes was 70,000$ for nearly the identical vehicle. No wonder those cars sit on the lot all year
I was looking at a Tremor supercrew and it was close to 80K and with nothing down 1,400 a month. I just closed my browser. No way in 🔥 🔥 I’m paying that.
The market is back to the way it always was. Used finally makes sense again. I had a new 22 and sold it right before the market trended back to used being reasonable. Thank god. I got my 14k equity cash in the bank and NOW I’m basically going to purchase the same truck again just for 20k less 😂
I was looking to get an extended range Lariat Lightning just last week and was absolutely shocked that they quoted me $80k, with no discount or incentives at all. I was so confused I just started laughing and left. Meanwhile, their lot continues to fill lol
Hey , looking at the 2024 tremor loaded, but it seams different then the one at sema, going to have to make sure they get it right, looking to buy end of year, from experience november seams like the best months, I would love some advice, thanks!
Tried to purchase a 2023 XLT at $65k in the NE area they would not budge in negotiating the price of their vehicle or the offer for my trade. They are greedy and that’s one of the many reasons why there are 60k trucks sitting in lots. The truck that I was looking at has been at this dealer 200+ days. I walk and hopefully they will continue to sit on for another 200.
I don’t see how anyone is buying any trucks these days. Ford dealers in my area are still adding a mark up on ANYTHING with the “Raptor” name. I walked the lot when I had my car in for an APIM replacement. There was only ONE vehicle on their lot that was under $50k and that was just barely under it. There were about 30+ Lightnings on the lot and they told me they had some recall that had to be done on all of them before they could sell them. I’m not interested in anything new these days at what these manufacturers/dealers are asking. It’s absolutely insane to me.
I have a 2018 Raptor....was considering a 2024 Raptor...If FORD could just adopt the "Agency" model in the USA, it would change the buying experience. I don't even understand how anyone is able to target a discount when every dealership (at least here in AZ) has a dealer "Market Adjustment" of $5k upwards to $30K for the Raptor R. So really you'd have to be targeting a 30-40% discount from the sticker as MSRP is a dream in this market. Who would have ever thought that would be the case??

I have ov200k on my 2011 fx4,absolutely 0 problems, i just love it!!!!
Same here
Funny because my brother in law has one as well with 205,000kms and the 2.7 Ecoboost and its been in at least twice for timing chain and phaser issues.
Thumbs up and a comment for no click bait and no 3 minute intro!
Looking at 23 or 24 Lariats with the 502a
Just got mine!
I actually told a dealer this very thing a couple days ago an he laughed at me I told him watch an see
The price of the XLT is about 102% more expensive than what I paid for my 2015 xlt BRAND NEW!
This market is at it's end, inflation didn't go up 102% in those 8 years.
It’s a combination of inflation plus the excessive features offered on a new xlt.
@AlCapwnd-tb5ow what happened to the housing market? All I know is interest rates have gone crazy. But I'm locked in to low rate on my mortgage.
Waiting for my 24MY Raptor R and am stunned to see 23MY Raptors out there still marked at over MSRP
All people chose the 5.0 engine, but I personally will choose to follow your beautiful channel and your most beautiful topics and the 5.0 engine.
You’re scaring me though dude.
i got a 2020 xl f150 for 27k otd after everything they had 6k in incentives on labor day and it even had the 2.7 which was an upgrade back then, my truck actually gained value after the 1st year
Looking at the Raptor and XLT, good content, thank you!
Awesome review thanks Ari - always learn from your content
The other thing to consider with this segment is the engine reliability. GM V8 engines in this segment have been experiencing lifter failures because of cylinder deactivation and there isn't any real way to mitigate that. Ram also has been experiencing a lot of lifter issues, but the right kind of maintenance can improve that. Ford has had issues with oil consumption on their 5.0 liter V8 but that seems to have tapered off after 2021 and they've been using the same engine for around 12 years. Which is usually a good sign. Reliability should factor in to the decision as well as availability of parts for the long game.
From what I've read the 5.0 added cylinder deactivation starting in 2021
@@Stantagious yes they did.
I need a new F-150 XLT but I will only pay $40k - $45k out the door with a loan from my credit union. That’s the value to me.
"Yes, but we have lowered our Donuts and Hotdogs fee to only $999, and we can get 9.9% financing for anyone, even YOU!"
I’m in Canada and 2024 STX’s were $65g CAD asking by the dealership by my house last week and now they are $58g.
I bought a 2021 Lariat 4x4 last weekend. Original window sticker $67k, it was 47k for me. Only 25,000 miles and certified. 2024 Lariat was $75k, and they offered 1.9%. Still not worth it to me
I think I saved myself recently with a 23 Lariat. Phenomenal info!
You should partner up with @CarEdge, with Ray and Zach 👍
Also, anybody who's looking to buy F150, first consider the recalls they had on major components.
They’re clickbait

@Matt_K I never said I didn't like. Ray is amusing and knowledgeable. I enjoy being told to buy now... no wait buy in 6 months.... the world is crashing.... buy now..no wait. Getting My 2023 F-150 Lariat 5.0 Coyote V8 30k on the dash. Cant wait!
I'm keeping it
FORD just offered me 1.9 at 72 mos with 4% below invoice on 2023. also 4% below invoice to order a 2024, but with current 7.9 rate.
I see 74k msrp Platinums listed for 65k in Illinois
Don't see that in SE-Pa ... not even close.
Wonder how many 2022 F-150s are still sitting on the lots. Ford, GM, Stellantis need to realize that the gravy train has left the station.
13% out of a overpriced truck price is not a good deal. They just overpriced the msrp and then offered discount out of that number. That's scam.

Yeah, I want a 2023 F-150 XLT but I won’t pay more then $40k - $45k, just that’s it’s value to me. $60k+ is so overly inflated.
Bye, Ford said they like the "pricing power" they have, take it or leave it.
The problem I have with buying used is the amount of miles that are on them for the prices. Say goodbye to about any warranty for saving about $5k in my area.
Wow such great information! Thank younfor taking the time to put this information together
I ordered a f150 5.0 2024 single cab 4x4. , going to work the price as hard as I can.

Wouldn't mind one of the 150 hybrids but they are way to proud of them.
Really good and informative content brother
I’m in the market now I might need you to help with this negotiation. Awesome videos I’m a subscriber now
I bought a used 2022 XLT that was basically fully loaded in July 2023 that MSRP’d at 64,500 it only had 5000 miles on it and I picked it up for 54,000. Still high but the right used truck is definitely a better bet than getting gouged on the brand new trucks. I absolutely love it though

Currently in between a Tremor or Tundra TRD off-road. Used they are pretty similarly priced at mid 50s. I've been reading the Tundras are having quite a bit of issues after their remodel, though.
Get the old gen
I'd wait a couple years before buying a Tundra. Let them get the bugs worked out
Buy the tundra and never look back. Ford is having so many macanical issues is stupid to buy one. The issues toyota is having are things like trim panels breaking nothing that will leave you stranded like the Ford.

In my mind, I can hear the sales pitch coming already, but it’s not happening. Mine is paid for, and I don’t want a new anything….too expensive, too “ techie”, and too complicated.
They won't budge on a 2023 Platinum, and then add tax and other fees, and its 85k. It is crazy with all the issues.
Platinum Plus 2024 is what I am looking for.
