Have a great week! 😁
The black tubular piece would be fabulous with an assortment of Air Plants living in the holes!
good thought for that thing / also succulents
I was thinking same when I saw it.
Jorge, I think that brass item is an Aarti oil lamp for Hindu religious ceremony. I'm really enjoying your videos!
Thanks for letting me know, I think you're right! 😁
I'm a nurse, that black sculpture reminds me of arteries and veins leading to/away from the heart. I love it. Its definitely a conversation piece.
Whoa! I see it😎
I think the small brass item is an incense burner-it’s pretty neat. Enjoy!
you are correct - you light up a piece of charcoal and throw a teaspoon of incense powder.
OMG would have snatched up that Victorian sofa in a second!
It's an incredible piece!
I really loved the black sculpture thing, actually everything. Great finds!
So glad! Thanks for tuning in 😁
Wow I loved everything you thrifted today especially the black student piece. You have a great eye for design.
Thanks! ❤
@@casa_refined also love your haul today 💞👍 oh my gosh I can't believe I have those amber glass votive cups and that green vessel I got mines from salvation army pretty much the same stuff for my lines like thumbprints but same green same shape love sculpture piece I agree looks better it's just a sculpture no flowers no greenery I have been collecting and we're glass like 10-15 years collection grew too much 😕 decided to get rid of most of them but I see they're coming back 🤔😕
This was great! I love that you're expanding your palette with a bit of earthy, natural green on a very artisanal piece that fits right in with your aesthetic. The Ikebana piece might be my fave. Did you make some arrangements with it?
Thanks Gina! I did make some arrangements. Such a stunning piece. I have some photos in my Ikebana post on CasaRefined.com
You definitely have an eye for picking good stuff! I like the way you put things together .
Absolutely love all your finds, especially the geeen vessel and the brass holder
I like the item that you said May be a student project.I would place air plants on them.tfs
favorite was the brass incense holder and the green stripped vase. Good finds.
Thanks Peggy!
I absolutely love your videos and your energy! My favorite is the green vessel!
Thank you so much! ❤️
The “brass” bowl that was all banged up is actually a cake pan for making doll cakes. That portion forms the skirt. I found one at a thrift store in good shape, so I unscrewed the base of it, found a brass colored tripod to set it in and it looks like one of those MCM bullet planters. Turned out so cool!
That's pretty neat!
Love the tube art. I’m also into sculptural finds.
I’ve watched 2 of your videos and from that I gather you love “vessels”. A whole lot of vessel wordage in both videos. I do love the black odd vessel the most!
Loving all the finds. Last week I found a wooden ayate bowl and I’ve been regretting that I didn’t bring it home with me 😩
It happens to me all the time. If in doubt, just get it! 😂🤷♂️
You got the green vase🤣. Blessings Jorge! I don’t know what the brass item is but I would put a round candle in it or Moss. I’m glad you purchased the green vase, my favorite. I wanted the mirrored candle sconces🤣, thanks for sharing ❤️
A beautiful candle holder that is only one, it can be glued to a plate or bowl to create a nice cake stand! I love doing that!
The shape of that small mirror 😍😍😍
I know right?! I wish I would have gotten it!!
I definitely would have bought the black sculpture. I think it is awesome and unique. It would even look pretty with maybe a branch in the tallest cylinder thing. The green vessel is amazing and whatever the brass item is, I would also have bought that too. Turning the drink holder into a vessel was a great idea!
That green vase is my absolute favourite!! SCORE!!!😊😊😊❤❤
The brass bowl with handle looks like an Indian diya :) Typically used during Diwali. Some hand twist wicks out of cotton and pour oil into the bowl and light it for the holiday. I will say, it looks beautiful as home decor also!
The amber votives were from Home Interiors. The fit in wall sconces. What is missing on them are the plastic pieces that fit over the nubs on the bottom to help hold them in a wall sconce.
LOVE the Wood BOWL and LOVE the Brass Handled Piece..........
I love love your style and ideas! I'm working on making the beautiful bowl you did out of paper Mache and some goodwill shopping this week! Thank you for your wonderful ideas!!❤️ Buena!
That's great to hear! ❤
7:30. Get a large cork to place on the drink dispenser. Love it.
I wish my goodwill had as many options as yours! I was checking out the shelves all around the items you chose and may have picked up a few more myself.
The sculpture objects are considered abstract or organic. Love those types of items.
Thanks for letting me know! They are fantastic!
The photo of the brass object on black was excellent!
I always pick up coffee table books and remove the dust covers as well! I'm happy to have found your channel!
El jarron verde😍 esta precioso 👍
Gracias! Me encanta tambien 😁
I have that green vase you showed at the end. Can't wait to see how you use it.
Awesome video, so glad you got the green vessel.
Love that tubular piece. I’d buy it too if it fits my space.
You can use the brass ornament for sea salt in the kitchen
I can’t wait for you to start styling people’s spaces. I need to sign up for a consultation.
Aww thank you! Maybe in the future 😁🤔
Great finds!! When you were at the silver items section, what I was looking at was that espresso coffee maker. I asked why isn’t Jorge picking it up?😂😂 Love coffee, and those coffee makers make the best espressos☕️. I agree with you on the prices lately at the Goodwills😒😒
I think I missed that, even while I was editing 😨😂
You and @ArifJohari are my FAVOURITE thrifters. Great vid x
Mine too!
Yay! Thank you!
Of course you got it! That base It’s amazing 🤩 and I can’t wait to see the transformation!
You found some gorgeous items. 😍
Thank you! 🤗
I think you got the green and refinished it.
It's from the middle east. U put a round charcoal in it and put frankincense on top of the coal. Hope that helps u out. I'm talking about the brass holder u showed.
That's great to know! Thank you for letting me know😁
new fan of yours! So happy that you are in this design space. Continued SUCCESS!!!
Wow none of my thrift stores ever have vases , clear crappy ones sometimes
I think the gold/brass item could be a "Dia" normally used for Diwali - the festival of lights
i love your thrifting videos. you find great things
Thank you!!
Please deliver the Victorian sofa to me. Drool! Great finds, Jorge!
That green vessel and candle holder (?) are my favourites. I'm happy you got that green vase, I think it blended well with your neutral home!
It's definitely a sculpture and I really like the rough edges. I know you love black but using earthtones would give it more texture and look more organic. Textured paint with a putty look would also give it more dimension. I'm envisioning speckles of copper or rich gold and yes, black against a matte base. The way it is, looks to me like a bunch of PVC pipes glued together. My opinion of course.
I think those candles holders would look good in like a stained piece of wood (plank?) For a center piece
That's a great idea!
Jorge, that small brass object is Indian and is used in prayers known as Pujas. It is filled with oil and a wick made of cotton is added in the centre.
It is placed in a prayer room and lit when reciting daily prayers. This one looks to be rather old and most likely belonged to a family and passed down.
Thank You! 😁
Those amber candle cups are from party lite or something. They fit in any candle stick so you can use a tea light candle or votive.
Yep. Or maybe even further back to a company called Home Interiors! I remember they came with rubber rings to make sure they stood straight up and didn't tip with a lit votive candle.
I love the weird vase and I really enjoy your videos❣
I appreciate that! Thank you 🙂
Can you make a pot making video for the black pot in your room where you are sitting and also demonstrate how to make edges of the pot smooth and rounded.
I love the green and beige vessel as well, but I think equally the vase/drink dispenser. If I had the "sculpture" I would make a birds nest out of it. And the candle holders... I would get a nice rustic piece of wood and drill holes down the middle and attach/glue them in the holes! Love your videos!!!
That's a cool idea!
I think the black sculpture is great. Wonderful for displaying dried branches etc but I would prob spray paint it in a textured granite/concrete finish. I think adding some texture could really elevate it and downplay the student art aspect of it :-) Or try The Sorry Girls sand and paint technique, (a twist on the baking soda and paint) for texture. You have such a good eye for spotting interesting items. Am a new subscriber - thanks algorithm :-) Watching from the UK and am in awe of your thrift stores, our charity shops here are tiny in comparison :-)
The brass thingi is a oil lamp (known as diya) used by Hindus/Buddhists during prayer or worship.
Gorgeous finds. Where do you live?! Out thrifts barely have essentials ESPECIALLY after COVID shelves are empty. I love all your ideas and quality diy
I love all your work, very inspiring
Great finds.
Love the video!!
Hi you should do videos on redoing other peoples bedrooms living room that would be nice you have a good eye 🤩
Thank you! Not at the moment, but I just might one day 😁
I believe the Amber sconces you got are “Home Interior” brand. They may even fit in the gold mirrored sconces you showed us during your Thrift Haul. They cost from $5.00-$10.00 each on Etsy & eBay.
You ask if we would buy the weird black object...maybe. It might look good with multiple succulents.
That was a great haul!
Thanks for the info! That's good to know 😁
Maybe make a delicate chandelier with the amber glass ?
lol@"creepy doll." Jorge! Those five amber-colored votives are straight outta the '70s. I remember them from way back - Home Interior is the brand. The ikebana vase - love it! Can't believe you were passing on those awesome-shaped vessels because of the color... I was gutted, man. Then you end by talking about changing color and texture. 🤦♀️👀 I guess you couldn't hear me yelling at you to get it. 🤣
Haha! I sometimes forget I can "thrift flip" items when in the moment of shopping. I guess there are so many options 😂
@@casa_refined lol too many at times. I feel ya! Lovin' your channel!
the brass thing is a diya holder! (diya is an oil lamp in hindu tradition).
Thank you!! Many people have explained but now I know the NAME! 😁😁
we have that same green vase! bought for 5 euros here in FB MP in FRance
Rub it! Genie 🧞♂️
I love the water jug thing for the counter. I wanted to buy one from the health food store but it was like $50! Also love the vase with the frog thing in it. You found awesome stuff as usual!
I LOVE the green vase!
The milk glass was nice too but all very cool items and I enjoy seeing how you present them. Favorite is the green vase 😍👍🏼
Thank you! I'm loving it for sure!
Great finds!
Great thrifting...I believe the brass piece is an incense burner. The last vessel was my favorite.
Thanks for letting me know! I'm obsessed with the vessel too 😁
I love them all, specially the black tube sculpture ... !! Great taste !
You: "These two are absolutely...ooh creepy doll!". I swear you have me wetting myself with laughter with the things you say - you're so funny. You had some great tips for those of us who don't come from a creative background and are completely lost in a charity/thrift shop setting. I think it's important to learn what to keep an eye out for and what to avoid like the plague. Ultimately it will save coins and lessen the risk of buying stuff that you don't like once you get it home and unpacked and realise that you got swept up in the excitement of thrifting. Everything you bought was on point but my favorite was the green vase.
I thought that was so cute too and starting laughing with the creepy doll comment 😂
Make a five-tiered candelabra with the Amber votive candle holders.
Love the idea!
I think you got the green vessel.
I would spray paint the black sculpture a matte black. Great finds!
Love the idea, it's a little to glossy right now!
Loved that last big vessel! Looks so much better once you got it home and styled.
I know right! It helps seeing things in another context.
@@casa_refined that’s the thing I find challenging sometimes - to picture it elsewhere. Thanks for showing us a good example.
It's similar to Brass Dhunuchi (an Incense burner). Loved your haul all the time!
The brass item is an incense burner. This is from india. We use this while doing our prayer.
Binge watch your thrift and haul series, because its lockdown here in my country 😅
And the last vase is museum quality
That vase was gorgeous ❤️
Hi from Seattle Washington 💕🦋
Great stuff.
I like the biege ickabana and wooden bowl I can't see me buying the odd looking black thing.. I would probably make my own with dollar tree pool noodles
Nifty idea!
@@casa_refined yeah I am referring to the pool tubes they are long so you can cut them, bend them like in my tiktok voice who would know lol
I hate silver! When I first got my place, everything was silver. But it’s too cold for me now. I’m definitely into black, neutrals and brass now.
It's such a great combination for sure!
All thrift stores raised their prices! However... I am in Florida atm.. I found the best thrift store ever I found an entire set 1 Table 4 chairs for $15!!!!! I wanted it so bad but I don't live here and have no way to get it home. 😕
I'm so glad you got that large vase with the neutral green on it. I love that color!!
I’m interested to see what you do with the 5 amber glass tea light holders. The brass piece does look like its for burning incense cones. They were very popular in the 1970’s.
Thanks for letting me know! Stay tuned for DIY (whenever I think of something) 😁
Love all your designs! Thanks for sharing with us.
Glad you like them!
The pipe thing looked like coral to me at first
I'd grab the target 2 pcs glass jar set
Those were a steal!
Thank you
My fav. was the Japanese vase that was shaped like a river rock. I really prefer Salvation Army to Goodwill. Do you ever shop them?
I love Salvation! Unfortunately there aren't any in my area
Love your style...love the high end inspirations!
...from Ottawa, Ontario
Thanks so much!
In the Islamic world when selling a carpet one sits down and has a very very sweet tea in like an espresso , I believe the brass object could be to hold sugar
Oh, baby Lone Fox! I'm enjoying your channel so much!
An incense burner for cones
Thanks for letting me know! 😁
