As someone who spends most of their time without the gi this is really helpful. I started in gi but then broke away from that and focused more on Catch Wrestling/CSW, and now am refocusing on more gi jiujitsu. Some things translate really well others have proven frustrating. Especially since my best chokes are the D'Arce and Anaconda, which at least for me are significantly more difficult to pull off in the gi.
Hi Stephan, love your videos. Let me ask you a question that I'd love to see answered in a video since I couldn't find one about it in youtube. What is the best strategy and the best submissions for strong people? I mean if, for example, I don't have much speed or cardio, but I have a lot of strength and that's my main advantage, how can I take advantage and capitalize that at best? What specific techniques use that as a comparative advantage at the best? Blesses master!
Superb Analysis, per usual! I’d love to see the same for the reverse, from gi to no gi (I train mostly gi, but occasionally no gi). My sense is no gi is better training for MMA, but gi is better for street if one had to choose (as most attackers wear clothes that can be grabbed even if they might be ripped). I imagine training both is best though. Your thoughts 💭?

@Stephan Kesting - Good tips! Like the breakdown. Happy New Year, Stephan! Hope the holidays were kind to you.
