For those it may assist, I've taken notes as I find it useful when learning myself. Please feel free to correct/recommend additions.
    - The foundation of the triangle is securing a one in/one out position with regard to your opponent’s arm inside of the triangle.
-You need to establish dominant grips and move to unbalance your opponent whilst taking advantage of a window to transition your attacking leg inside your opponent’s arm, isolating that arm. You want to break their posture.
-There are a variety of entries. (it would be pretty sweet if others can recommend particularly useful videos on entries)
    * With a gi you can use the shin or foot on bicep (spider) whilst controlling your opponent’s same side wrist, move to isolate the arm by bring your spidering leg in and over their shoulder.
    - Once you have established the one in/one out position, establish a figure-four guard (not necessary) and transition to keep their posture broken before you create an angle.
    * It is important to create an angle, one reason is that if you maintain a central position whilst trying to execute your opponent may very well react by stacking you.
    - There are a variety of methods to keep their posture broken, but a common method is grabbing your attack shin and pulling down, allowing you to unhook your hooking leg.
    * You can also secure a single collar on the back of their head.
    - With your other arm grab underneath your opponent’s thigh or somewhere that allows you to use that hand as leverage to cut a tight angle.
    - Once the angle has been created, you should be looking at one side of their face, you should bring your hooking leg up towards your attacking leg. Do not bring your attacking leg to your hooking leg.
    - You may find it useful to raise up off your lower back and make sure to cut across the shoulder aiming to trap only their arm inside of the choke point.
    * You also want to aim to create a wedge with your hooking leg directly behind their neck, increasing the pressure when you lock the triangle .
    - Once hooked, squeeze by bringing your knees together using your hand to bring their head down should they continue to resist.

As a white belt with only 3 months experience I can greatly appreciate his attention to detail. I may not be able to incorporate every detail due to my lack of training and experience. This is amazing. It seems like almost no one understands triangles. I set up my triangles in a very similar way. I use overhook guard to control posture, shrimp and club the neck with the hamstring simultaneously, scissor my legs together to take all the slack out, then lock my figure 4 over the shoulder. I've taught this to about a dozen people, and most of them don't even understand shrimping from 0° to 90°. They think they're fine doing 90's era unlock grab relock, figure 4 over their ankle with a 6" gap nonsense that made their professors give up on the submission altogether.

i got taught the traingle choke today at a mma class and i was instucted to push of the hip with the leg to create the angle. Also the angle wasnt as drastic and it was no where near as tight. I very much look forward to trying this against a ressisting training partner.

When you're transitioning to that angle, how do you stop the opponent from pulling their arm out? Is it to keep the hips as close to his shoulder as possible?

great idea for a vid because i'm short and thick myself. but I wish he would've started from the closed guard. when i'm looking at instructional vids and the difference in the technique I would love to see from start to finish how you get into your positions.

very interesting. it's almost like a pendulum sweep hybrid of the triangle choke with that angle and underhooking the leg.
