What a tarantula can't do, a tiny jumping spider did it in a minute.

Spiders are so amazing. It was cool to see the spider carefully gaging its opponent. It recognized somehow that this wasn't just an easy meal like a fly that it could just jump on with impunity and consume. It was cautious and only pounced when the yellow jacket couldn't sting back. Superb footage!

They have excellent eyesight so it probably saw its jaws, the colouring or the shape of the insect, they probably can recognise them by the shape of that waist

That wasp was stupid imo he had all that room and had to bother the spider. He deserved to get knocked out.

She it’s a queen and they usually are aggressive and territorial over things some times they will swarm a chair just because it’s a new object around their nest.

Whoever purposely put these two together to film this needs to be kept from breeding at all costs.

Isn't this extremely reckless to put your spider up against a wasp, I get that it can and will hunt down the wasp and most likely win without harm, but why risk it ??

Well I thought that too but then I asked mitzy if she could win against a wasp, she said yes so to be fair that was good enough reason for me, :)

That's a phidippus audax. In the top 5 largest jumping spiders in the world out of over 4000. Evolution has proven how capable they are. I'd say it's not really a risk
