- In this video, we capture the intense struggle between a Yellow Hornet (Vespa simillima xanthoptera) and a Paper Wasp inside a birdhouse. Originally set up to protect wild birds, the birdhouse becomes the battleground for these two insect queens. The Yellow Hornet queen has taken residence, and surprisingly, a Paper Wasp nest is also found nearby. As the two cannot coexist in the limited space, the Paper Wasp queen launches an attack on the Yellow Hornet. Follow the fascinating and dramatic events that unfold as the Yellow Hornet queen defends her territory, and witness the natural survival challenges these insects face. This video offers a captivating glimpse into the harsh realities of nature's survival of the fittest.

Finally, we've seen it whole.
Is it possible that the paper wasp Queen decided to build a new nest, away from the hornets?
yep, she probably saw the spot as a lost cause because a more fit animal moved in
@@silverfox9004she was tired of living on the edge every day too I’m sure lmao
@@Dustudin it didn’t the creator already said it didn’t.
I never noticed how much personality wasps and hornet have. Wow.
I'd have expected the Yellow Hornet queen to attack the Paper Wasp larvae as an easy food source, but I guess it didn't happen.
That's what I was going to say. I wonder why such an easily accessible food source was ignored.
Captivating video.

I feel for the paper wasp, dang

Nah she was a trouble starter. Started two unprovoked fights and lost lol.
@@guyfromnj true lol but still
This was so cool to witness as it happened, thank you so much for uploading this and the previous clips!
The Wasp is like Come over here and face me
Hornet is like Buzz off I'm busy
I've never seen someone hand-feed a wasp or hornet before. And they were so calm. Very neat.
I find that at least with wasps if your calm around them they just get on with what they’re doing and ignore you. I had a nest in my garden and would regularly feed them and help keep them cool.
@@metavet9242 I love people like you.
@@knightofcydonia1192 peace🐝
@@metavet9242 Paper wasps are really chill. We had a nest over our front door and I left them alone and was never bothered by them.
@@ColoradoStreamingreally about paper wasps? we have a bunch of small nests of German paper wasps around the roof, and they’re looks quite aggressive, same with yellow jackets, but I didn’t encounter them that much nowadays
I’m surprised that the hornet never ate the wasp larvae to feed its brood?

"Who are you?"
"Who am I?! I'm the Queen of this hive! Who are YOU?!"
Was watching the shorts, this was really good! Thankyou for the time you put in to recording and making this! 👍🏻 👌
Team Fortress 2 lore:
Paper Wasp went out to get some milk.
...excellent documentary! Thanks! 👍🏻
Fascinating! And skillfully documented. :) Cheers.
Our Dolichiovespula maculata queens in the USA also put paper fibers on top of the cocoons for some reason. They disappear though so I guess they are reused for something useful.
Beautiful video. Thank you so much for posting.
Thanks. I am interested in a creeping and fascinating-way. Really nice.
Excellent work! Many thanks for creating and sharing.
Amazing video, can we expect future video's of the Yellow Hornet queen??
thank you for this 😁
Hornet: Ayo chill
Paper Wasp: FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN
Very interesting video mate. Thanks for sharing
🙏💚🌍🙌
Sad thing is.. If the paper wasp had just ignored the Yellow Hornet a little longer, she might've eventually raised a small army to take on the Yellow Hornet more effectively.
自然についてのこのような洞察をありがとうございました。とても良い仕事でした!!!もっと多くのビデオを期待しています。あなたのチームに幸あれ。
Seriously cool. Thank you!!!!
I do enjoy your videos
I enjoy your videos very much.
dang. brilliant video.
Would they have survived without intervention? I wonder how many queens don't generally make it, since the video said they can exhaust themselves before the workers hatch. The Paper Wasp must have set up shop elsewhere, after losing two fights and being at the Hornet's mercy both times.
That was riveting. Thanks for posting. Did the hornet Queen get less aggressive towards you?
Truly fascinating. I appreciate You all's findings.
Couldn't look away 💕 this
Interesting footage...👍🏻
O Mann...warum hast du die Wespenlarven nicht selbst gefüttert? Das hätte doch sicher geklappt. Waär garantiert interessant geworden!
Fascinating. It would be interesting to know more about different methods of beekeeping around Japan. In particular, how to colonies in Hokkaido fare during winter?
That was fascinating.
I noticed the words, "No larvae were harmed in the making of this video" do not appear anywhere.
I ❤ your videos thank you for sharing 😺
Очень крутое видео. Оно представляет и научную ценность. Спасибо.
I've been watching Red Alert, Yuri's reveange, and RA 3 gameplays and now youtube suggested this video. I now see two queens building their bases. "Construction complete, new construction options.", "Building".
Rather funny to think that their daily routine consists of hunting, eating, feeding and fighting with each other each day
Why does the hornet not take those wasp larvae to feed her's?
+
Great video! I’m surprised the hornet didn’t eat the paper wasp larvae when the queen disappeared
"More smart, more safe, Mortein."
Australian bug spray ad jingle.
These feel like Zerg vs Zerg irl.
LOL
"This birdhouse is too small for the both of us, gringo!"
Молодец! Спасибо за видео.
very nice
Paper Wasp should have tried to keep the hornet away in the first place.
can’t help but feel bad for the birds the house was meant for
It is not a hornet it is a Queen wasp, the normal common wasp.
It is not a European Hornet or the Asian Hornet!
Paper wasp Queen: look at her ! , why she wanna come in here and build here house with all that space out there !
Hornet Queen: Hey girl I'm just going set my things here and set up , you don't mind do you ? ....
Paper wasp Queen:: Excuse me! Have you lost your mind and sense of direction?
Hornet Queen: No but if you just focus on your babies everything will be ok .
Paper wasp: 😡🤬🐝
I never felt more sad for the wasp.
very cool.
Damn, she fed one of her kids to her other kids 😮
And that first fight was like the battle of Helms Deep
I like the video; quite interesting, but the music, not so much.
Poor paper wasp larvae.
すごい!
Imagine if game chat was enabled while they were fighting
On the 17th their was one empty cell in the wasp nest. On the 20th there is a second cell now empty. The Hornet looks like it was feeding on the was larva, just 1 every few days.
Fazed, not phased, but other than that, great job for someone whose first language is not English.
I can feel the anxiety of the paper wasp
Сожалею по бумажной осе Надо было пробовать вскормить ее личинки
Que massa!!!
Hornet queen be like: 🗿
Moves in with 0 fcks given if place is vacant or not. Being pretty chill until provoked (I wonder why 😂 If I was wasp, I'd be pissed too). Makes wasp abandon her nest and leave.
Those nest with all the holes makes my skin crawl and then i feel itchy
Same.
Woow thats a though lil beast
SOUNDS LIKE LIGHTSABERS WEN THEY ARE FIGHTING
I was rooting for the paper wasp, it’s sad she had to abandon the colony :(
Damn the paper wasp was after then a snake attack
What was the deciding factor? the armor of the hornet?
Hey neighbor!
*DINKLEBERGGGGG!!!!
Try to make a cut in the food for the was
Did you really domesticated the wasps ?
I didn't think wasps or hornets had queens. I thought they were colonies of females with a few males. Huh, I'll have to read up on this.
Interesting, but the music choice is a little off, in my opinion.
why weren't the nests burned?
Two different kind of zerg colonies on the same field :Đ
You don’t see any fights
Rage incarnate...
Feeding a wasp!? THIS IS A CRIME AGAINST MANKIND!
Is that a European hornet?
Gotta give respect for the Paper Wasp for having honor and not attacking the Yellow Hornet when it had it's back turned.
The paper wasp waited to be face to face. RESPECT ! 🐝🐝
I don't feel bad for the paper wasp queen. I see that she started every fight haha
КРИМИРУЙТЕ ИХ БЫСТРЕЕ!!!
Whole new meaning to "the birds and the bees" (I know these aren't bees).
Long live the queen lmao
The trashy music made this unwatchable
And now you'll kill them right? Right??
no wtf
@@ncense1608 channel is named after bees not wasps 🤷♂️. Plus those Japanese hornets kill their honey bees, so yeah, Kill 'em.
They don't pollinate nearly as much (if at all) as the bees, they're far more aggressive, and they moved into what was meant to be a bird house. It's an easy call.
@@ryang3910 It's because their main role is predatory and pest controllers. I've seen plenty of them hunting pesty larvaes on my garden so I always welcome them. They are gardeners best friend, maybe OP also has a farm?. Though I threw my sandals at a newly built paper wasp because they built it straight at my door 😂.
I also have trigona honey bees but they are safe cause its way too small (the size of mosquitos). And plenty of non-honey kind bees also visiting my garden which is not on their menu.
And I live in tropical country anyway so we dont have winter and shortages of resources. Plenty of flowers and insects all year round unlike 4 season countries where bees, wasps, hornets become much more aggresive at the late summer preparing for winter and plummeted resources.
I can understand filming, but i think you shouldn't help any wild animals/insects with their struggle in life, let nature work its wonder.
This is old and copied
Wdym?? Is it a reupload or something..?
Two wasps enter, one wasp lives….!!
