It was kinda hard to get to, since it was over my kitchen sink, and I am a short 77 year old widow. i had to climb onto a step ladder and into the sink, then i had to climb out of the sink to go down stairs and turn off the breakers, back up stairs, back on the ladder and into the sink. after several attempts to loosen the hardware, i had to climb back out if the sink and get a bigger pair of plyers, back onto the step ladder and back into the sink and following instructions, it started to move! i can't thank you enough! your instructions saved this "old lady" a bunch of money. thank you so very much!

Thanks so much for this info. This wasn't the first site I visited in my search for suggestions, and no matter what I tried, I couldn't remove a corroded outdoor light bulb that had broken off completely. After watching this video I crimped and crimped the metal collar till I could eventually pull it out. Screwed a new light bulb in, and it worked perfectly. Now I need to get some teflon or silicone spray so the base of the light bulb I just put in can be sprayed before it corrodes and gives me the same problem all over again.

4:40 Nothing left but the metal part…. needle nose pliers, only I couldn’t find my needle nose pliers. So, after attempting with just pliers, and pliers wrapped with sticky tape wrapped sticky side up , I improvised with regular pliers and an old sock. It worked!
I had almost given up. But your. idea inspired me to keep trying and also appreciated seeing the direction of the turn. Lefty loosely, righty tighty.
I had been doing it right, but when there was no movement from all my first attempts I started to question myself. Thank you!

Omg! Thank you sooo much for posting this video for me. I turned off the electrical panel, and I followed your very detailed instructions. I'm right handed, but the way the light was set up on my front porch. Whew! I worked it, worked it, worked it, and it finally started to move. I was super excited. Thank you very very much. I did it yall

I'm so glad I found your video, I had two ceiling fans with Broken Bulbs in the socket and I thought I would have to replace the entire ceiling fan because I could not figure out how to remove the bulb. I was able to removed both with very little trouble wiggling back-and-forth as you showed in the video and it worked great thank you so much, and please keep posting these useful videos.

Thank you, Dino! I was going to call maintenance but had a feeling I could do it without turning off the circuit breaker. Piece a cake!

Thank you from an old lady! I turned off the circuit just to be safe and was able to grab the center stem. And now I know how to use the needle nose pliers if there is only the metal base left.

OMG you are a lifesaver. I am a 64 year old widow on a fixed income and I had no idea how to fix this. You are very clear and give great directions. Have you done any more of these videos for us gurls? I need help all the time!!!

Thank you so much. I had a bulb shatter in my fridge and when I looked closer, both bulbs were shattered and only the metal part remained. With the help of your tip on using needle nose pliers at around 5:00 in to the video, I was able to get the metal part of both bulbs out in about 10 minutes. I salute you sir!

Great tips and demonstrations! Looked this up today for a bulb broke within the socket and didn't remember what to do. Didn't want to use my potato so the needle nose was a charm. Thanks and please continue making these videos...

This guy, Dino saved me a call to some handyman who would probably have overcharged me. I am 70 years old & didn't think I could do this myself--climbing up on a ladder to change out a broken lightbulb. I followed his instructions and voila! It worked. Thanks Dino!

Thanks man! In the past I've used the needle nose pliers by grabbing the side and being able to twist it, but with these little light bulbs it was just bending it. I never thought about just shoving the needle nose inside and opening them to twist it out. You're a lifesaver!
