Thank you friend, You made my day go a whole lot better! BTW Feit sells a 40 watt equivalent LED replacement (uses 3 watts and is 270 lumens) that should last about 5-7 times longer and it fits in my Whirlpool micro that had the 120v 40 watt bulb like yours. It was available on the shelf at Home Depot.
I did it! Not as easily as you did, but I got it done. My pitfalls... I thought I had turned off the microwave breaker, but I didn't and it popped with some sparks! Exciting. Why I flipped it back on is beyond me. Then I forgot which breaker it was, so I turned on the vent fan and started flipping breakers until the fan went off. THEN I marked it with tape. I could not get a good angle on the bulb socket, so I pulled the stove away from the wall (fortunately we had done this a month ago, so it was clean). Once I got right under the microwave I got the angle and used the old bulb to twist out the broken socket. I did have to take off one layer of rubber bands because I had tried to use a pair of needle nose pliers and kind of bent the broken socket (all with the power off). Finally it started to turn and came out. I will order a new bulb on Amazon and get a new piece of glass because for some reason when the bulb burnt out it broke the glass. Getting the door off is a challenge and I am sure it will be a bear to get back on. BTW I am a 60 y/o woman who has never tried anything like this before, but my husband had to leave town on an emergency, so I thought it would be nice if he came home and this repair was done!
I had a BulB Blo & hadnt dealt w/ it yet. My mother kame over n handed me this exakt same gift. A situation only designed for the peron w/ no nerves to get on.. Love u mama.
Question did yours have a cover for the bulb or just the exposed bulb have the exact same stove but it came with the house when we bought it ....thanks again

Thanks for sharing 😊 I’m looking for more pliers right now bc one needle nose isn’t getting it 😩
