This is the only theory that doesnt have massive holes in it (aka the most plausible) and addresses every single factor in a reasonable manner. Immediately won me over.
This is one of the best fan theories I've seen so far, matching the details in a surprising way - especially considering that it probably wasn't really intended by the developers. And damn, Tejas is a legend, it's great that he's around.
Initially, Messer (og protagonist of Stalker Oblivion Lost, also the guy that you see wearing your armor in inventory in SoC) was supposed to be Fang's killer. But in this theory details seem to fit together so neatly, developers would be wise to run with it
You dont know how happy those videos make me. Like, you are really DEEP into the lore and give provide new information about the games lore after all those years.
I approve this video. Since I am of course, Tejas Stalker. I would like to show my incredible appreciation to Anomalous Dugout, for taking the time to listen to me but most of all creating this video and making everything so easy to understand. A fantastic video! Remember, that despite what GSC may have intended originally to have Scar kill Fang, they didn't do that in the games. We have to consider only what we see in Clear Sky and what is said in Shadow of Chernobyl, as the only accurate and complete information we have to work with. Most likely Ghost found out later, from other people still in the Army Warehouses, that it was Clear Sky and Scar, that was chasing after Strelok, Ghost and Fang. The information was spread by rumors or was leaked, that Scar went after Strelok and Clear Sky hired Leshiy, the only available Mercenary who was disguised as a Loner. There are no other Bandits available anywhere, to enter the Red Forest from Limansk, who run into Leshiy and owed Clear Sky a favor. Most likely Leshiy took the Bandits as a decoy, to trick Ghost and Fang by their presence, where he was then able to kill Fang. Ghost was most likely so distraught by Fang's death, that he was unable to prevent Leshiy from escaping. We see in Shadow of Chernobyl, that Leshiy now in a Freedom suit, wears a gas mask so you cannot see his face. Depending on how you play Shadow of Chernobyl, the Marked One might kill Twig and/or Leshiy by rolling a barrel at them and shooting it to explode, to get Twig's rifle (without damaging your relationship with Freedom) for Colonel Petrenko's mission to get the Sniper SGI from Twig. Leshiy may die there by the Marked One or might survive. Strelok never realizes he meets or kills the very person that killed Fang. My thanks again to Anomalous Dugout, for creating this awesome video and showing everyone, what I had only put into words. I am so happy for this incredible video.
I have always just thought since Lebedev said he would deal with it that a random ClearSky squad killed Fang and Ghost just Misidentyfied them since clear sky was mainly hidden and have also bluish uniforms like the mercs
Honestly, this sounds very coherent. Even accounts for dev sloppiness on minor details. But ultimately, it doesn't seem slapped together in conspiracy.

Hey Anomalous, you should do a story/events recap of the original trilogy to get everyone ready for Stalker 2's release. Maybe a guide to the Stalker universe for people who have never played the originals. I see a lot of people on RUclips who played the demo and never played the originals. I know you have covered much on this channel previously, but with the release approaching closer and closer, I think you could get a lot more deserved attention. OG Stalkers could share your video with rookies and be like, here watch this first before you play.
This theory actually makes sense, if only this was actually intended by developers. Considering how much Clear Sky changed from its original concept, I wouldn't be surprised that they intended to put this into a game, but for some reason they didn't, and Scar's eye color was probably just an oversight.
Knowing GSC there was probably a single guy on the dev team who made all the puzzle pieces for this theory fit together and then never told anyone about it. The beauty of collaborative story telling.

It's worth noting that in the Russian script, the assassin is described as having bright/light eyes. My Russian isn't that good so it's possible that "bright" could mean "hazel" in Russian, but I don't assume so. "Третьего я упустил. По моему, один из наёмников. На лице сильный шрам. Глаза светлые." Either way, considering the amount of unreliable narration in the games, it's reasonable to assume that Ghost didn't get a good look at him. If you are going for the clone theory, maybe you could say that the emission in CS removed the pigmentation from his eyes, but his clone kept the original appearance. Losing pigmentation feels like something that the emission could do to him, and the character (and actor himself?) from the movie that Scar is based on has a segment of white hair on his head.
tbh, since he's still alive in cordon after you search his body and no npc mentions him dying, i think it's probably remains of an older plot piece or quest that they forgot to remove.
In Stalker 2 you can find a bandit Leshiy in the lesser zone holed up with a sniper rifle and warehouse full of traps. It seems like he took on a contract which he shouldn't have and someone was hunting him, maybe it's the same guy taking one contract too far. Judging the details provided in the theory, they don't really seem random at all. But as long as there are no official statements by GSC, it's impossible to know for certain if it was all intended to fit together.
Maybe, but after 11-12 years it takes between CS and S2 one would think that Fang's death won't be relevant. Unless Leshiy appears as fairly important NPC.
