This totally original, factory correct manual turbo Commodore looks like it has just been taken from a sales brouche, optioned with Aircon & power steer it is 100% correct . Beautiful body & interior, it also comes with logbooks & owners manual. As rare as hens teeth.
Very tidy indeed. I would not even touch this car, I would leave it original. Beautiful.
So would I, very few original spec vl's left leave her be.
My brother had one in original condition, wrote it off (rear end damage) after less than 2 weeks. SL with power steering. 5 speed manual but not turbo. Great car, was devastated for him when he wrote it off.
Friend of mine has original vl with original reconditioned turbo with sunroof & its manual it a beautiful machine at its finest.
Hate to be that guy but you’re wrong. Radio is not correct. That’s a VL berlina radio

Didn't all VLs come out with power steering?
Only thing wrong is steering wheel, it's dark sandalwood colour found in brown interior cars, being red sl it should have light sandalwood same as the colour of the seats and dash, beautiful car regardless.
What trim code are you referring to? There's only one from my understanding.

@@Dylan_Mulvaney_OFFICIAL The motor is out of a Nissan Skyline which sits correctly in that car. To fit it inside this Holden the back of the head/motor sat higher than the radiator so they cooked and cracked the head gasket which mixed the oil and water... common issue.
@@__PJ__ so the front of the motor sagged lower than the rear? Did they fix the problem with the series 2 VL??
@@Dylan_Mulvaney_OFFICIAL There wasn't a series 2 as such they just made them from 86-88 no they couldn't fix it without putting a bonnet scoop on the car as it barley fit. Choose a 5L one if you can find one they were fine.

Power steering, air conditioning and FE2 suspension with progressive rate springs was standard figment on the turbo VL
Holden were onto a good thing with this car and it's Nissan engine, VN were a big step backwards

@@jb7591 mate I DONT know what type sales man you were but you certainly did NOT know your shit, I will bet you anything you want that power steering was NOT standard on SL models! If you knew what you’re on about Power steering was standard on executive models and upwards regardless of engines EXCEPT for 5.0L V8 VLs that were NOT available in a manual gearbox unless you brought a HDT or a Walky, so sir you’re wrong 👍

Don't know why I think I would have a heart I have a putting a Nissan motor in a Holden.
VL was a model that was not proposed for production it was made because they had trouble with the yanky V6 for the VN . Normally it had to be VK - VN. The Myth

i have a red silver vl, non turbo with the gearbox computer. I threw out the hub caps and rims and put vz silver pursuit rims on it. Bought an ex cop car and have genuine pursuities. I'd show a photo but .....cammed and reconditioned engine and auto. Not for sale
What about the berlina or calais radio its fitted with with is it a option or has it been changed ?

its NOT a 100% correct car, its got a Berlina radio in it
considering they went to the extent of ordering a turbo with power steer and air, better stereo would have been an obvious inclusion at original purchase time as well.
@@bt6850 Seems more like they optioned it up with a "Police Pack", which you could do back in the day if you knew a dealer pretty good

Toyota told Holden to get their act together, with the paint w paint quality because Holden paint quality was garbage
Paint quality got worse not better take a look at the Vn -Vs series, clear coat peeling and paint faded after two years.

Nissan have always made better motors than Holden. VK six-cylinder was a heap of shit. Holden always rely on input from other manufacturers, to make their cars better.
