Love the video but don't record the interview in an echo room. Could barely understand the interviews.
Grate interview just a tad hard with the Echo.
The valve lash is more to do with bedding in ,when new engines are run in right they get adjusted and then thats it, but wear and tear will also make the tappet noise and the fuels are different now as well, which is why you have the additive for pre unleaded engines etc. :)
I've got a cleaner HDT optioned 88 VL turbo berlina that's been locked away for 20 years :)

Also the LS3 engine has massive injector issues and other electrical steering problems which holden put out a recall for them as well. :)
HAD the same car but a MYER special and the engine was gone in it either valve stem seals or piston oil rings ,but sold it and also i think it had massive water damage as well, but no rust just water rot smell through the carpets and it had the red velour seats with white paint and Myer special badging as well. :)
Thank god i have a VF SSV REDLINE , its just going to go up in price as its the last V8 and a REDLINE as well. :)
just rebuilt my vl commodores motor and gearbox(rb30e and jatco 4 speed). ive had it for 14 years now. not for sale.
If I were Holden, I would have partnered with someone like Toyota who already has provenance in Australia and at the very least bought rebadged camries or corollas in that were right for Australian conditions. With the long term view of producing a rear wheel drive platform that was on a smaller wheelbase than the last of the true commodores were that can take anything from a 4 cylinder engine right up to the LT2 or whatever and was suitable for hybridisation or full EV status in future runs, And the other priority would be to make a fleet of smaller 4 cylinder vehicles that were suitable for EV too, but had qualities about them that espoused the holden 'character' .. It doesnt really matter that they would be on a smaller wheelbase because something like 95% percent of road trips in Australia are taken with 2 or less occupants in the vehicle, its just a fact, I mean if Holden had had the foresign to bring in the Volt or the Bolt even they might have weathered this storm themselves.
My concern about classic cars is what will happen when the Government decides to follow others, like the UK, and ban the sale of petrol cars by 2035. I'd expect that they'll make some sort of exemption that we'll have to pay for and there will be some fairly big restrictions...
WOw so just imagine what a ex V8 VL cop car would be worth and the same with VL turbo cop cars. :)

So basically this bloke scammed a old lady to sell her car, just like i had the chance to buy a XY Fairmont one owner with A/C under the dash and mint condition with only 50,000 kms on the clock and he said yep he will sell it, for 50K, so he knew what it was worth, totaly and utter scammer took a really OE one owner car off a old lady, got it for a steal and now thinks its worth 100K ? Original Kevin Denis dealership CAR as well?
