  • Retro Rides Australia showcases the VT Holden Commodore SS in both series 1 and series II guise, Immediately upon its debut, the VT secured the prestigious 1997 Wheels Car of the Year award, marking the fourth time a Commodore had achieved this honour. The VT series quickly gained popularity among buyers who preferred its more conventional styling over the bold design of the Ford Falcon (AU). It became the top-selling Commodore model, solidifying its position as the leading choice in the Australian market during its era.

I have had my vt ss for over 7 years now and love it every time I start her up and get that V8 rumble. I get guise bumps when you drive an old v8 these days it makes you feel like your driving a supercar because there isn't many on the road so when you sit at a set of lights all the sound is coming from you. I am so happy I have the last of the Aussie built will love it for many many more years.

My friend had one. I had a hk sedan, 307 chev and manual. I couldn't believe I beat it! They were heavy cars for the 304
