    What I like about Holden cars is that although they were styled after European, and in some cases American design, they were tested, developed, and produced in Australia.

      they probably didn't know good the rb30e was at the time. mines done nearly 400000. I had to replace the electrics but it doesn't blow smoke like an old 202. I run mine on premium. it still pulls over 180km/h. I haven't had a chance to test it. people drive so slow these days. must be a new car thing.

      Funny how crediting Holden for feats no other American or Aussie manufacturer did is mentioned neither. Holden literally got legal rights to use this engine, they owed Nissan nothing after that. But do tell me which other company has managed to get an RB within their local line up since outside of a model cross-platforming?

    • @garethcurtis7545

      @@SCREAMILLUSION that makes no sense- most manufacturers use their own engines or an engine from within their group ie. Ford/ Mazda or VAG. They just bought a drivetrain, that's it. Should they get a medal for taking the easy way out?

    The reason why gnh went to the nissan 6 was not just because the bedford truck based pushrod six was out of date but they couldnt get it to run properly and as efficiently as the nissan six when unleaded petrol was introduced in february 1986 othetwise they might have used and further developed the bedford truck based pushrod six up until recent years and that buick v6 came out in the usa before the bedford truck based pushrod red six that came out in the eh in august 1963.

    And by the way i remember that energy polerizer that came in the vl and there were mixed opinions on that and brokky had some blew with gmh over that at one time because there were claims that it didnt work and that was one of the big bragging points about the vl when released on sale i remember it all well and you dont ever hear about that energy polerizer anymore ,did it work or not and what was the real purpose of it anyway.

    • @johno9507
      @johno9507 2 года назад

      Brock's wife was sucked in by a chiropractor who believed in 'Orgon energy' and who then convinced Peter Brock of its (unverified) power.
      The 'Energy Polariser' was nothing more than 2 magnets with a crystal in the middle in a box.
      Brock claimed it did all these weird and wonderful things (like running 22psi in the tyres and make it handle better, which actuallyhad the opposite effect) and made the car run better, there was also a metallic sticker on the back window that was meant to channel energy down the middle of the car into the Polariser.
      Holden extensively tested it and found it did absolutely bloody nothing!
      And Holden said they couldn't endorse it and offer a warranty on a box of voodoo, so Brock went his own way.

    • @lundsweden
      @lundsweden Год назад +2

      Well they never caught on, which says everything.

    • @96libertytt
      @96libertytt Год назад +1

      Only some HDT's had the polarizer. It was a friend of Brocky's that convinced him to use it. It did nothing. Holden, who supplied the cars to him, knew it and couldnt warrant it. They ended there association with Brocky over it.

    • @danozism
      @danozism Год назад

      @@96libertytt Yeah that was a huge embarrassment to all involved in February of 1987. A stubborn, arrogant, misguided Brock. Whoever his 'mate' was, he must have been very convincing! The 'Polarizer' was basically a small box that had some 'crystals' and other stones in it, which were meant to act like good luck charms or something, haha.
      The box didn't even plug into anything, if I recall correctly!
      Brock swallowed his pride eventually and returned to Holden a few years later.
