Years ago I had a youtube discussion with you about VL's and their engines and rb25/26 engine or something along that area. And well hey just being a friendly Aussie wanted to update you.

I actually sold my VL in late 2014 and bought a WRX, then tried to buy my VL back and it got written off by someone! I was so sad, ended up selling the WRX a year and a bit ago and have had an s15 since which is awesome, google ZUU222 S15 and that's mine hahaha, the black one. Still love VLs but the prices are ridiculous now! thats a nice colour on the calais! is it a stocker or got any work done?
hey mate, thanks for replying. Good on ya. Hmm well Im wondering how long you very driven the vl....as a daily??? WRX's are good, s15s are just mad fun cars as well. So much money for cars though, I wanna do some simple mods but will end up 4k in the end because I want top job done. Yes VL's are high in price but if people actually pay that price who knows.......
I've been offered 6k for mine after a shopping reciet on my windscreen with a number on it last year. Mine has had major mechanical work done to it and of course rust work, but was a apprentice spray painter so done cheap and properly. Interior needs a steam clean as previous old lady was a smoker hahaha.
My VL is runnign the enigne and trans froma R31 skyline, and I hate it because my speddo is out....and the trans barely kicks ovr to overdrive when cruising in streets always reviving at 2k revs. And my fuel is fucken nuts, been dyno'd lasted on petrol for ages. But I get 350km per tank if I run it near empty.....and figured out I get 15L per 100km, but did 150km of high way driivng in 2-3days and my car didint kick inot 4th gear after awhile on the highway and used 20L???????But was clicking at the bowser at 13L of petrol put in.
So yea its a a headache of a car bro but dont wanna sell it and regret it.

Love the VLs. Drove my uncles in Adelaide on my ps many moons ago.
People are still missing the point complaining about the LS. It's lighter, bang for buck insanely cheaper, and way more reliable. It's a 'street car'.
But it's a bt1 go do it to a standard one

That’s one sweet car 👍 congrats . Man I miss my 84 VK Ex Chaser 4 speed from the Newcastle Highway patrol . I bought at an auction in 1985 with 44,000 km on it . I kick my self for selling it , that thing was damn quick , handled great and was very reliable.

Use to drive these turbo units when disposed of by Victoria Police and the Road Traffic Authority (now Vicroads). They used the canary color and other colors unmarked

I know what your saying, doesn't add up.
As an engineer of 10 years I earn an okay wage these days. (Early years in the GFC sucked)
But after paying the mortgage, bills, etc., if I really wanted to and sacrificed social life (Its not a big social life by any stretch of the imagination) and family life, I could probably do one build, but not as many as this guy.

Vls are what i like to call a wannabe car. Half of them want to replicate 'american muscle' and the other half want to replicate a gtr. Both outcomes, offcoarse at a fraction of the cost etc...
Its a car with no identity. Its simply a car that was built to be used, abused and thrown in the bin just like most production automobiles.
