Good save? How much footage of him driving in traffic in this video do you need before it’s not necessary to incriminate himself with what he says.. have a closer look at his gen 3 commodore the turbo photo shopped into the photo 😭😭🤣🤣
Honestly, that is like my dream car right there. I love the look of commodores, especially VL's, and the the RB26DET is an amazing engine, especially for races. And having it all wheel drive was pure genius. Would trade any other car in the world for that monster VLR.
How real cars are built, done yourself with friends with heart and commitment. Well done man and a great build to be proud of and she's all you to the last nut and bolt.
Perfect example of brilliant ideas + dedication = awesome results ! I think money may have also helped lol but good luck to you mate, keep living the life most of us can only dream about 🤑
Ford fan here. This car is absolutely gorgeous. I’m not one of those fans that is toxic towards the opposite brand, but i have a soft spot for a lot of hsvs and vls. The vl body kit is absolutely insane, one of the best, if not the best looking commodore
Was that hailstorm in Sydney April 14th 1999..? My Toyota corona was pretty smashed up from those crazy cricket ball sized hailstones! Amazing car....VL is classic with the Skyline package! 👌😃👍
I am FORD through n through. Own and drive a BA XR6T, BF Falcon Wagon and a Mazda Bounty Turbo Diesel (really a Ford Courier). But I have a soft spot for the VL (no other Holdens) and this guy just made it even better. Fkn hot as, sounds hot and looks the biz. Nice.
I love the car, what a work of art. Well done Huss, you've done a brilliant job here, dude. Who would complain about the wheels, they look awesome- they suit the car perfectly. Is there another VL that looks like this with GTR running gear??? I read in Street Machine about 4 or 5 years ago about a very similar build, but the way it was constructed very differently according to the article. This one it was claimed, used the VL floorpan, they claimed the GTR gearbox fitted in the Commodore's tunnel. The GTR's rear sub frame was installed and he had some custom front struts made to allow the driveshafts access to the front wheels. It was a very similar colour, had the Walki kit and all, so similar that it makes me wonder if it's the same car and that the article was just horribly incorrect in it's claims. Can anyone help with some info or details to work this out? Either way, this car is unreal. Funny how it took one guy in his brother's shop to do this, but you see big dollar builds from the States where they do similar convrsions with late model floorpans being used in old muscle cars and stuff. Aussie ingenuity mate
You know what, your right. What I saw it in was one of those greatest car's of Street Machine mag's. One was released a couple of years ago. One car that's always stuck in my mind and made an impression on me (that was in the mag also) when I was young was a bright red '70 Challenger Pro Street car- it was an N/A Hemi with a tunnel ram if I remember correctly, but was absolutely on it's guts. The dude brought back the chassis kit from the States where he had worked at a chassis shop. Ever since Challengers and 'Cuda's have been my fav cars in the world
Daniel Brealey i think it was a maroon one atleast 15 years ago, maybe more, from memory vl chassis with custom front x member. cant remember what diff.
I remember one that looked like this. A Walky replica, but GTR driveline. Maybe that was a different one. The one I'm talking about was in a "Best of Street Machine" type deal a couple of years ago too
Daniel Brealey yeah there was, I recall it being a walkie too but cbf editing. i may still have the mag at mum and dads! it was a long time ago but if its still around ian baker would know
Anyone can throw money at anything not just in regards to a car and say they have done this and that when actually they haven’t. This gentleman is the definition of forward thinking and putting his idea into practice. I bet you felt a little empty when you finished the car cause for you the best part of it was the sweat and labor and laying in bed at night looking at the ceiling thinking about how to put your ideas into practice and problem solve issues. On a side note if you’re thinking of another project I would love to see you do something with the VL SS plus pack styling from the boys at Bertie street
4:45 "Basically wanted to beat anything on the stre..... Ahh, Eastern Creek."
Good save.

Brilliantly done
Cool story for a cool car
Beautiful car. Great job 👍
Wonder if it's registered as a VL or Skyline lol
May be a VLR33GTR Skymodore....Just a thought.
Registered as a VL
I can dig it..My VN Berlina is registered as a '38 Chevy..Well the '38's working gear is from a VN so..lol
should be registered as a skyline its using the chassis form a skyline (thats my thought)
I looked it up, it's registered as a VL.

i remember that car, i believe the article was in street machine way back in the mid to late 90s

That's what GMH should have done from the get go. Great work!
Well done Huss 👍
Nice ride
Years ago there was another VL built 4WD. A different path though as it was converted and didn't use entirely Skyline underpinnings.
Amazing car. Should have added another 7 seconds to the video haha
awesome build. love the sound.
