    Bought a Broozer to upgrade from my Speed and Strength SS2400. The build quality on Bells is miles ahead of any helmet I've worn so far. It's my first "Premium Branded" Helmet I own.
    The only downside is this helmet isn't great when doing hood rat speeds, due to not having a spoiler, it'll pull your neck if you get up there. But for town and normal Highway, its more than enough. I do trust this Bell a lot more in a crash and that's what will keep it on my head for the next 5 years. Love the dual rating, dual EPS, and ABS shell. Leaps and bounds ahead of any Thermoplastic lid I've had til this point.

    I feel that others modular helmets are not safe, because the low part of are just aesthetic covers. But the low part of this one looks like a real part of the helmet. I mean, I feel like it can really protect your mouth if you fail on the ground. Isn't it ?

    It's great to have actual data on helmet performance, though I still take it with a grain of salt. Where-about do you place the sensors for temp and noise when testing. And hey, Test Rider, why did you test all these helmets @ 130kph in 4th gear when it seems like you test other helmets in 5th gear? Thanks
    Also, when testing do you open all vents or select certain vents to balance noise and venting?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 года назад +7

      The temperature sensor is placed in the EPS channel above the inner liner. The sensor for the decibel meter is placed against my ear and records exactly what I hear. With regard to 4th or 5 th gear, we asked ourselves this exact same question in the past: can we compare data from 4th gear and 5th gear? The answer is yes, there was no difference. The noise from the wind is overwhelming the additional noise from the bike engine and thus the 4th or 5th gear don't play any role in the noise result as measured inside the helmet. All vents on the helmet are open when conducting a road test. Does this answer your questions?

    Nice review. How well would goggles fit in the aperture of the helmet?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 года назад +1

      We would say that you will most likely struggle to fit the googles in as they will push down on your nose due to the low brow and visor. However, glasses and sunglasses should fit in fine.

    Awesome review, but is this helmet safer when compared to Scorpion's Covert-X? I like the design of the Covert X but doubting its safety.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 года назад +1

      Well, of course a proper full-face helmet is always a safer option, however if you like versatility in your helmets then these type of helmets is the way to go. With regards to safety, the Bell Broozer is DOT and ECE 22.05 certified and the chin bar is way sturdier than the Covert-X, so we would recommend the Bell Broozer over the Covert-X in terms of safety.

    How do you think this would compare to the shark street drak?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 года назад

      Thanks for your question! They are both convertible helmets, but the main difference would be the goggles and the fact that you are not able to use the chin bar on the street drak without the visor/goggle as they are attached together. We would recommend the SHARK Street Drak to be used mainly for city rides, and would highly recommend the Bell Broozer in terms of safety.

    Thanks for doing this road test! This really helped me in making my decision on getting this helmet or not. One question though, how does it do in light or heavy rain?

    • @XSR_RUGGER
      @XSR_RUGGER 3 года назад

      I own this helmet and have ridden in both. It does allow a little water in if you have the chin vent open. Closed it isn't water proof at the chin vent but it didn't bother me with how little water got in.

      @@XSR_RUGGER been hearing things about it not working well with a comms system (Sena/Cardo) do you use either of those with the helmet? And is it actually not compatible or are they just saying not optimal?

      @XSR_RUGGER 3 года назад

      @@mariobarajas3385 I wish I could help but I don't have any experience with comms systems. I do wear blue tooth headphones occasionally and if you don't have a smaller pair it isn't that comfortable. iPhone wired headphones are painful. There is quite a lot of wind noise so I'm not sure how well you'd be able to hear anything that isn't in your ear though.

      @@XSR_RUGGER How about the visor ? What is your experience when the rain hits direct to the visor?

    • @XSR_RUGGER
      @XSR_RUGGER Год назад +1

      @@josemanuel2244 the visor is great. I've never had any rain get in through there and I've ridden in some heavy downpours (not by choice)😒😆. The field of view is pretty good as well.
      The helmet does move some at highway speeds. If it had a chin curtain it would be much better.
      I still haven't found any comfortable headphones but I do have some Loop silicone ear plugs that work amazing inside the helmet.
      I've had this helmet for 2 years I believe and do not regret buying it. That being said, when I buy a new helmet I'll probably go with something else. It's comfortable, good air flow, good visor that swaps easily, and stylish.
      The only cons are the wind noise and the little bit of movement at higher speeds honestly.
      I wish they had a few more visor colors and helmet colors but that has nothing to do with performance.
      If they made this as a full face, or even a more traditional modular helmet, I'd absolutely buy it. I love the shape and style of it.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  3 года назад

      Hi Dino! We would think so, with a matte black helmet, once it picks up a few scratches, you can easily see the marks when compared to a glossy one. It's also easier to see fingerprint marks and is a bit more tricky to clean. Of course, in the end, it depends on your taste and which one you like better!

    • @Championhelmets

      Yes, technically you could but its easier if you take them off. If you have the chin bar removed though, then it's a bit easier to pull on with glasses on.

    Bells over all quality and pre testing before release has been slipping yearly for well over a decade. And the second the discontinue a helmet good luck finding any model specific parts .even on day one end of line they do not support their products worth a damn. Even on supposed new olds like the moto 3. Still have my first year original moto3 . It is superior after 4plus decades of abuse to the new one right out of the box. Also huge fail. The evolution modulars. Who did they use for an ear model for the pockets. ;SHRECK? And wind noise on even a perfectly goldwing is outrageous , Recon another huge clusterfuck. Ear cover can be blown off as designed by a toddler sneezing also as designed actually increase wind noise vs fully exposed ear. Only reason to purchase bell anymore is the fit if you have a long oval head . Bell used to be direct competition to simpson and arai. No longer , not even in their highest end offerings. They are more interested in selling to the be cool bar hoppers at ridiculous gross profit margins and bicycle and adventure people .

      It's ECE certified in the 3/4 and full face configuration and has multiple shell sizes. To my knowledge it's the only helmet in this segment that has this kind of safety. In my opinion, that makes it more than worth it. Helmets are meant for safety first, all the other things are pluses...
