Because of your critique of the Bell Broozer helmet, which topped the research sources that I was able to find online and the video from Spurge at Revzilla, I ordered one and just got it yesterday afternoon. I found the sizing chart to be right on track with my 23” head fitting perfectly in the 'large' size, intermediate shell size. I also consulted with Rachel, a 'Gear Geek' at Revzilla, who was very helpful in reassuring me that the size chart ran true to my head measurement. I rode in a 25 mph, quartering Nebraska headwind yesterday to see how noisy it would be and was pleased to find that the volume of noise was actually much less than what I had expected. The visor is easy to operate, even with a gloved hand. The vents however, are quite 'positive' and require stopping to use both hands to open or close them....not a problem for me. THANK YOU, RYAN for all the effort you put into your channel and thanks again for helping me select a great modular helmet that I intend to use a LOT!

I’ve used SHARP ratings to purchase all of my helmets. Useful information, along with this channel. Hopefully they make enough waves for companies to change
Yeah, but there's two problems with SHARP 1. It only covers full-face and modular helmets 2. By being a UK DfT standard, it only rates helmets sold in the EU and UK Markets; unless the same helmet is sold under the same name elsewhere, it can be a pain in the ass to see what's what for non-European riders
I also looked at the sharp results and especially when looking for a budget helmet for my girlfriend. Amazing how good some of those scores are in the budget realm as well. In the store over here the ones with good scores had the sharp score on the sticker that is on the visor. Only downside with sharp is the limited array of helmets they have tested. Not even all popular shoei, arai or Schubert lids are tested. Sharp also immediately makes apparent why arai refuses drop down sun visors or flip ups. The hits in those areas are clearly worse. But I do really welcome the new standard as it will cover more helmets and thus force manufacturers to update.
I like the catch system on the AGV helmets, it allows you to lock them slightly open for better airflow in relative humidity. I'm not sure i agree with the hard to open, I think its just down to knowing how to use it. push and flick in one movement. Although yes the sighting system takes a bit of getting used to.

I just got a new helmet about a month ago. I tried on the new HJC F70 helmet and I LOVED IT! It was so comfortable, sleek looking, and loved the colors. I bought an HJC CL-17 two years ago when I got my first motorcycle. I got that helmet after watching your videos about helmet ratings, like SNELL rating. So I got it because it had a SNELL rating. I ordered it on Amazon and when I got it, it was a little big, but, usable. So after 2 years and riding more on the highway daily, I needed a smaller one because the speed on the highway would turn my helmet some because it didn’t fit correctly. I didn’t have $300 for a new helmet, for the HJC F70, so I got an LS2. I really love my cheaper LS2 (paid $150), but, would definitely get an HJC F70 possibly one day when I can spend $300+ on a helmet. Thanks for your review. Love you bro ❤️

I've been a daily rider in Los Angeles for 35 years, have owned over thirty personal bikes, and I don't know how many helmets I've owned--but several dozen for sure; however, only about two years ago did I discover that my head shape is not a Medium Oval, but a Long Oval. What a revelation in comfort that was! And as far as I know, the only high-quality helmet that fits my head the way it should is Arai's Signet X. Very expensive for a road-going helmet, but after the basic high-level of safety standards are considered and met, comfort (and not a crushed forehead that leaves a mark), is my #1 consideration when buying a helmet.

Maybe people can upvote this is good info: first 100% respect to Ryan F9 , I don’t have to say much more than that. Y’all already know. He did miss a detail on the K6s AGV helmet that might have changed his perspective. He mentions you have to press the button and raid the visor in one fluid motion. This is not how it should be, the FIM or MGP (w/e) visor on this actually has a single small Phillips head bolt that holds the clip tang on the plastic face shield. The tang is in a slot that is clearly designed to be fine tuned. You can move it in four directions x/y in order to make it work properly. Adjust the tangs position so that when you push in the button it has tension such that it pops out of the slot just enough so it won’t relatch when you depress the button. This makes is a much easier thing to operate , it has a positive click you feel then at your confidence you push the face shield up. I too would have criticized this helmet. Ryan did a fantastic review , the ONLY reason he missed this I think , is because he wouldn’t have changed the visor . When I put a third party photochromic visor on mine , I ended up swapping the clip tang from my Agv shield to the third party shield , and that’s when I saw that adjustment by the end user was intended.
Who cares? These are just sales tools that really don't amount to much. Most people who fall off their bike fall on their side and slide. Any decent helmet that won't shatter on contact will suffice...and if you are in a wreck more serious than that, you are unlikely to be walking away anyway.
Alpha Force wait are you honestly saying that a racing standard which is mandatory as of 2020 in Superbike and GP races is just a sales tool? That‘s like saying the safety measures taken in Formula 1 are just for show. As Ryan explained, Snell and ECE are catered to the manufacturer. The FIM Standard is made with the racers in mind. But hey, you go and Ride with a 20$ bucket, I don‘t see any harm done in your case
@@SgtRaptor Are you saying that racing isn't big business whose primary reason for existing is as a promotional vehicle for manufacturers? And are you denying that manufacturers have to pay a licensing fee to display whatever "safety" logo it is on their products? It is really just a cash grab... and let's not go straw-manning here. There are some shtt helmets that would be just as bad as wearing none, but that doesn't mean a $2000 helmet with the new sticker is going to protect you 10x better than a $200 HJC. Also, this channel is a business and it is paid to promote products...or what do they call it... promotional consideration.
@@alphaforce6998 Except that Ryan specifically doesn't endorse the $2000 lid sporting the FIM sticker, due to the price point. As for the 'shtt helmets', the science currently indicates that any and all helmets are better than none. While there are no public crash statistics that differentiate between brands, price points, or certifications, the Sharp rating (and I will assume the FIM standard) *are* based on real-world studies and better impact attenuation directly correlates to the energy transfer to the brain. This world is absolutely full of cash grabs, scams, and conflicts of interest, but at the end of the day I will spend as much on a helmet as my brain is worth to me, and you can bet that I will follow science-based testing standards when making that choice.
@@MajTom101 Tells us of his precious "brain". Rattles off a litany of marketing jargon claimed to be "science". Misses the simple point that the "safer" helmets will be sold at a premium, and that the lack fo endorsement of the $2K helmet is irrelevant because the purpose of the safety stickers is to get dopes who think whatever bullshit they want to believe is true if only it is labeled as science. And there are no "real world studies" that directly compare the effectiveness of a particular helmet solely or primarily based upon whatever safety sticker is applied to them. You should be more picky about what you put into your brain rather than what you put on your head, because like all the fools that roll up talking about junk science thinking they're "enlightened geniuses" for doing so, you have only shown that you are as ignorant as the rest.

Will not purchase anything below 4star SHARP ratings, all but one here has 5, and it is possible to buy 5star
Yeah, but there's two problems with SHARP
1. It only covers full-face and modular helmets
2. By being a UK DfT standard, it only rates helmets sold in the EU and UK Markets; unless the same helmet is sold under the same name elsewhere, it can be a pain in the ass to see what's what for non-European riders
@@hvymtal8566 Still better than the nothing every other market provides for comparative safety evaluations.

I have the HJC F70 and I love how much I can see and I'm perfectly happy.

You’re like the Alton Brown of motorcycle gear. That’s a compliment.
Hey Ryan, thrilled about the FIM standard. Any thoughts as to how it measures against the 5 level Sharp rating that's been around for a few years now?
