  • Welcome to this intelligent movement practice informed by my physiotherapy background. Be guided through a well rounded 42 minute gentle yoga practice with an emphasis on strengthening and stabilizing the thoracic spine and getting us out of the hunchback.
    This beginner-friendly, fairly gentle yoga class was filmed live -- there is a little background noise, and not every pose or move is demonstrated as the instructor focuses on a combination of demonstration, verbal instruction, watching students, and occasionally moving around the room, including off camera, to make student adjustments.)

    OMG! I'm so happy I found this video. I've been doing scoliosis yoga videos but when I found out the exact part of my spine that is hurting me and typed it in "Thoracic" Yoga 1st video and the movements and the props you use are PERFECT for this part of the spine. It hurts but definitely feel better then I was before I found this video. Consistency is my goal. ☺️☺️🦋🦋 Gratitude for the work/Service you do for us by sharing.✨💕

    Looks like a good video to do with my dad. But sadly, it's almost inaudible, even with RUclips and laptop volumes turned up to the max. My 88 year old dad won't hear it at all. EASY SOLUTION: Edit the video to add a new, louder audio track. It's simple to do (any local teenager can guide, if needed). Please consider doing this -- the info is too good not to fix this minor problem and let it get the widespread use it deserves! Thanks for the generous sharing of technique.

    • @Ariele.Foster
      @Ariele.Foster  6 лет назад

      It is not possible to revise the audio track of an already uploaded video, with the exception of adding RUclips-approved music.

    • @uncurlygirl
      @uncurlygirl 6 лет назад

      You're correct, but what I meant was to take the original video and edit it, then re-upload it. It's worth doing because it's too hard to hear and the straining to hear(what did she say? go back and play it again -- still can't tell) isn't conducive to a peaceful yoga experience or to getting the benefits of what looks like some very good, helpful information. I had to keep repeating/shouting the instructions at my dad. It's totally worth doing because the info seems valuable.

    I stretch out my thoracic everyday and it's still SOOO tight. After I stretch, it's good and loose for awhile, and then the tightness slowly creeps back in, and my chest gets tight, and it's like I can't take a full breath. Ugh!

    • @Ariele.Foster
      @Ariele.Foster  4 года назад +1

      Maybe try something other than stretching! Strengthening may take time but it has longer lasting effects. Strengthen at least 3 times a week for about 6-12 weeks to really to notice a difference. Many times tightness is perception that is the result of weakness and instability or nerve issues rather than actual stiffness.

    • @Ariele.Foster

      You can inhale or exhale in either position, it's just a common way of teaching these two poses as a flow to inhale into cow, exhale into cat. Sometimes I teach the opposite way, or sometimes I hold one pose and breathe.

      @@shaniamemmott9212 (I know you are making a simple comment on the internet, and no one needs to read too much into it, but I will be frank.) Honestly, no, that does not make sense. How would it help you to know that other people feel worse with the passage of time and that a single yoga class on RUclips has not cured them? How would be it more helpful than setting up a physical therapy appointment with a different physio? or simply trying something different?
