@@TheAsianOfChaos probably a comment made by a marine. Marines are big and strong manly men who don't need no sissy handed stiple grip to have a firm grip on their firearm. In fact their rough hands, from all the badassery work they do, provides enough grip to more than make up for no stiple grip. So any marine turning in a stipple grip probably has soft hands, which implies a different type of . . . . service in the marines. Some friendly fire if you will. Which might leave a lasting impression on many young impressionable marines.
I’m no expert, but I’ve been shooting many different handguns for a while. And in my opinion, Sig nailed it with the P320. I specifically have the M17, and no other handgun feels more natural or is more accurate for me than this gun. I can confidently shoot it fast with good groups and the ergonomics are perfect for me. The army and marines made the right choice in my opinion.
Agreed. I have the x frame full size and im very happy with it. Came over from a glock 19 gen4 witch is a awesome gun but i feel like i have to try way less with the sig. It just feels so much more natural

When I was a little boy, my grandfather took me shooting for the first time. He had a garand and I will never forget watching him load it. We shot at some empty flower pots for a while. I still have one of the shells more than 30 years later. After he passed in the early 90s I learned he traded a German over/under he took as a war prize for a surplus garand. We tried for years to hunt down the over/under after he passed; never found it. He was 36th Texas, 143rd and served from Salerno through Anzio, Motecassino, Rome, Southern France, Vosages all the way to occupation. When I first saw your video name, it made me think of watching him load his garand. I thought his thumb was gonna get ripped off. Can't lie either, as a little boy that 30-06 boom made me a bit nervous before shooting.
I finally got to pick my M18 up. Already put the Wilson grip on. It completely transforms the gun. Super comfortable, slimmer, and it has stippling in all the places you’d want. It is so comfortable to hold and get a good grip. I highly recommend the Wilson combat grip module. There is something you got wrong though. Yes the screws for the plate and sight mount from underneath, but if you put a red dot they mount on the top at lease the Leupold Delta Point Pro does. I know because I installed one on mine already.
With all is said and done the Marine Corps will still be issuing the 1911 45 caliber to their special units. That has to be a reason that the 1911 pistol And 45 caliber is still in demands. And I expect the M 14 rifle to have a long career in the military service also. Why would anyone in the military want a pistol with a 3 inch barrel.
Being an Armorer myself I can tell you that the finish does scratch super easy on the Sigs. We have had ours about a year now and they look like we have had them for ten. Great handgun I love it so much that I went and bought a m18 myself. Any time I am off duty that is my carry gun. As far as the finish goes tho, not a fan.
As a Marine, I'm offended. We're not just good with guns. We also pay the most child support, and can survive for months on cheap beer and jalapeno cheese. Beat that you long-haired, flannel wearing hippie!
As using and teaching the m18 for the Air Force for the last year, there are a few things I like about the pistol. BUT, we have found that the front sight has been falling off and sliding around pretty often. So we have to replace them quite a bit and use locktite when doing so. Hopefully Sig fixes that. Also we have found when disassembling, the guide rod will sometimes get pinched by the takedown lever and get messed up. It’s an easy fix, for someone with gun experience, but less mechanically inclined people are thrown for a loop with that. Lastly to keep this comment kinda short, because I could write a whole article on this, our shooters tend to shoot very low. The m9 used normal focusing on front sight and rear sight method. The m18 is similar, but it’s more of a combat sight where you should use the dots on the sights instead. That’s not a bad thing really, but we have been teaching it different or the last many years. So having our shooters using the dots instead of the actual sights has been a learning curve. Sorry for the novel of a comment! Just have a fair amount of opinions over the last year having this pistol In Service.

16:56 when we first got issued the m18 they didn’t go over that the safety will come off with the Safari land holster so we had some people caught off guard by the safety immediately being off and had some people shoot the ceiling at the range because their draw technique was ridiculous and they put their finger on the trigger before they were on target because they were so used to the double action trigger of the M9 because they gave us zero dry fire time before going to the range
Guys lay off the coast guard. They have some of the hardest physical requirements for entry. Like: Must be at least 6 foot. That way they can walk to shore if they go down.
Just a note: the OEM frames come in at around $40-$50 depending when you get them and in what configuration you get them. The X-carry grip with tungsten is the one that costs ~$250.

Typically I can only do that with a 1911 and on my good days with the m&p 40. I was however using Swiss P Mil Surplus ammo so that could have played a role as to why I was able to shoot the M18 so well on my first day out with it.
Not sure if it is corrected here , but US Army MPI (Military Police Investigators} and CID (Criminal Investigation Division) will be issued the M18 as one of their EDC. I thought about buying a P320 before but after handling it a few times, I noticed that the mag release wasn’t very easy for me to reach and I was a little put off by how high the weight of the slide was in relation to the grip. Most guys refer to this as “bore axis”. It felt like the momentum of the slide while sitting that high up might make for a snappier gun than my G19. I’m sure it’s no big issue, anyone can learn how to control this gun. My biggest issue was the mag release. I like the shape and the height of it but I’ve got somewhat short, stubby fingers so it was a bit difficult to reach.

The *SIG M18* Owned the exact pistol only in black. It was called the SIG P320C with a manual safety (I never used the safety though). I also own the SIG 2202 & an old school SIG 228. ALL 9mm pistols. *_Here is my take,_* The older SIGs where great, accurate & reliable. They complicated to gunsmith if you do your own like me. But good old tech. pistols. I bought the SIG P320C in January 2020 because I heard it had a great trigger & was going to be the US Army's new sidearm. I took the SIG P320 to the shooting range and shot about 400 rounds after a couple of visits there. Observations - The SIG P320 is very reliable with no malfunctions after 400 rounds - This gun is fairly accurate - The "good" trigger I did not care for as it was too smooth with little feedback. - The trigger & firing pin assembly are overly complicated with a lot of small parts/springs to lose - The stock night sights were OK but too small to see for me *_Result_* Sold the SIG P320C and bought a Glock 19. Picking up the Glock tomorrow. IMO the Glock is a better all round firearm with a better trigger for me as I love the reset (audible & tactile). Stay frosty

He served under General Mark Clark didn't he?
Sorry but I actually ate that over/under shotgun. It currently sits in my tummy.
I finally got to pick my M18 up. Already put the Wilson grip on. It completely transforms the gun. Super comfortable, slimmer, and it has stippling in all the places you’d want. It is so comfortable to hold and get a good grip. I highly recommend the Wilson combat grip module.

I bought the SIG P320C in January 2020 because I heard it had a great trigger & was going to be the US Army's new sidearm.
I took the SIG P320 to the shooting range and shot about 400 rounds after a couple of visits there.
Observations
- The SIG P320 is very reliable with no malfunctions after 400 rounds
- This gun is fairly accurate
- The "good" trigger I did not care for as it was too smooth with little feedback.
- The trigger & firing pin assembly are overly complicated with a lot of small parts/springs to lose
- The stock night sights were OK but too small to see for me
*_Result_*
Sold the SIG P320C and bought a Glock 19. Picking up the Glock tomorrow.
IMO the Glock is a better all round firearm with a better trigger for me as I love the reset (audible & tactile).
