  • Davros has 'died' many times throughout the history of Doctor Who - yet he always manages to return. In this video, we explore the 'deaths' of Davros and attempt to explain how this ancient Kaled scientist is still alive after all these years.

    I actually think the way Davros survived the end of "The Witch's Familiar" was remarkably simple...
    The window in the infirmary - Davros just flew right on outta there (either destroying the window himself or waiting until the collapsing city caused it to shatter)
    If Davros had already engineered his chair to hover by Revelation, I'm sure post Time War Davros was fully capable

    It would be interesting if Davros did the same as Ba'al from Stargate, and cloned himself at some point. That way, all his deaths were real, and we just keep seeing other versions. They wouldn't need to share memories, as Davros never really talks about past events.

    • @Daldi564
      @Daldi564 2 года назад +7

      Davros did actually a clone of himself in Terror Firma, intending to transplant his consciousness into the clone and begin life anew. This plan was foiled however when the Doctor manipulated the Daleks into destroying the clone, causing the Dalek Emperor side of Davros to become the dominant personality, effectively turning Davros into another Dalek. I'm a little unclear as to how we went from Davros becoming the Emperor to going back to being his old self by the time of the Time War

  • @redjirachi1
    @redjirachi1 Год назад +13

    My headcanon is that the Daleks pulled him out of that timeframe like 12 does to Clara, except since we don't see him die they there's not a paradox in doing so. This is probably how Caan rescued him when the Time War is supposed to be time-locked; his ship was destroyed but nobody saw the body and just assumed he couldn't have survived that. It might even explain why Davros is dying in Season 9; he still suffered some injuries from all the explosions happening around him

    • @moisesfavela2189
      @moisesfavela2189 9 месяцев назад +2

      He also probably had major tissue damage and severe scarring due to self mutilating his own body to create a new Dalek Empire. And the subsequent explosion of the Crucible likely made it worse.
      Case in point, The Doctor was definitely having that chair.

    • @redjirachi1
      @redjirachi1 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@moisesfavela2189 That chair's been working overtime. I feel that while Davros is too stubborn and vain to heal away his "war scars" he's practical enough to update his cybernetics. Asides from an in-universe reason for his design changes it also explains how he survived 12 taking his life support for a joy ride

    I'm glad he always survives 'Doctor Who' TV series, just wouldn't be the same without him, the thing I didn't personally like was he opened his real eyes that didn't match up with the Davros we had always known! and no-one ever mentions his voice microphone in 'Revelation of the Daleks' has moved to the opposite side of his head! I think he should always remain in his black and silver Dalek base wheel chair, black is such sinister colour, it would be nice if there were a new race of Daleks that were 100 percent loyal to him and not the recurring story of him being used by the Daleks. It would be nice to see a story where he is strong again and not at all unwell and leading a strong army of Daleks led by him and only him and totally loyal to him, with no sign of any 'Genesis' Daleks, who are against him until it suits them otherwise.

    I do not like Witch's Familiar. DAVIS says that it's important, because the Doctor forgave Davros, but then by the end, he's back to being a piece of shit, and the Doctor fucks with him again, and leaves him to die.
    Like, not only did he rejuvenate a space fascist, but he also didn't really do a good job of killing the daleks, since they're back, still as an empire, whipping out Movellans, and the Doctor doesn't care.
    I never liked how the Doctor is just perfectly happy to let Daleks be in the Moffat era. Doesn't feel like a very progressive message. "Just let the Nazis be".

    He just got another possible death in the 3rd part of the big finish 60th, where during the time war the daleks deem him a traitor and imprison him. He then asks the timelords for aid and plans to make a new species that are hybrids of daleks and timelords, unfortunately the doctor's genetics are unstable at that exact time so his project fails but he outwits both timelords and daleks and escapes the destruction of his prison and lands his escape pod on skaro. Unfortunately as he plots his revenge on both sides and universal domination his chair gets stuck, kust as something on skaro finds him.

      The Doctor saving Gallifrey didn't change the timeline, it's what always happened. That's why there were so many Dalek survivors of the Time War - the Moment was never activated. The Doctor only thought he destroyed Gallifrey, because the War Doctor couldn't retain the memories of meeting his future incarnations
