      What? Are you saying there are too many exposed wires around? Actually being a single wire, makes the return path the ground or floors, etc. That means anyone touching one should become a crispy power resistor. The game overlooks some things to make it easier for the less the technical knowledge crowd, which numbers huge. So there are many things that leave certain elements of our real world out. And... in FO4... that's what Stimpaks are for! I see dead folks around the wasteland at these raider locales that have been skewered, yet I have never fallen or had such an event happen to me. I see limbs getting shot off, but never me. Like a sci fi movie, one must immerse oneself into the story line or one will cause problems of one's own making with staying with the story. Sci Fi movies are notorious for manipulations of the physical realm in less than acceptable ways. Like the "gravity" in Avatar's world, or the bird-copter-gunships in "Oblivion". Lot's of fun though from any perspective, so you do you.

The Fallout realm is not like our realm and there are a few differences in their "physics".

      I'm looking forward to it. I wanted to know about linking the scavenger station to the factory for possibly unlimited supplies and the factory brakes down components into its raw form is that possible? so having a vacuum on a work station to brake down items collected from the settlers on the scavenger station to its raw form ending scavenger stations max cap per day and having a automated factory. is that possible?

    • @Peabody-xv2tg
      @Peabody-xv2tg  7 лет назад +20

      Unfortunately not for me. You need mods to break all items down to the components and I am on PS4 so no mods. That is really why I designed this the way I did, so each item had it's own hopper. So the lead hopper may have a pencil (lead + wood). Then the builder will use the lead and the wood goes back into a bin to be put back into the settlement workbench. The other reason it is built like this is the way the vacuum hopper works. Let's say I need copper+Lead+Fertilizer. If the settlement workshop has 1000 copper it will take 1000 copper before it takes any lead or fertilizer. With my setup, they are presorted so the item with lead, fertilizer or copper all drop onto the conveyor at the same time from their own hoppers.

    The sorted hoppers are a great idea to get around the DLC not having a recycling machine to break things down into components. It's quick, easy, and allows you to just dump your scavenged stuff and pre-load it for production later.

    • @montanus777
      @montanus777 7 лет назад +3

      there is a strange way to reduce some of the scrap, but it costs you some components. sort out everything that contains steel (maybe except for 'pure steel') and make steel balls (which only consist of steel) out of it - this gives you all the other components in this scrap. same goes with: sort out everything that contains plastic and make halloween pumpkins (which only consist of plastic) out of it and sort out rubber for kickballs. then you have steel balls as 'pure steel source', pumpkins as 'pure plastic source' and kickballs as 'pure rubber source' - as well as several other components from breaking down the original items. the downside is, that when you break up the steel balls, pumpkins and kickballs you get less components back than you need to produce them - but if you have enough steel, plastic and rubber anyway, that's a general way to reduce the amount different scrap items.
      you can even make it more complex. if you e.g. sort out everything that contains cloth, fiberglass and plastic, you can produce jangles the moon monkeys and directly lead them into a pumpkin producer, which gives you back the cloth and the fiberglass. a buttercup/steel-ball- line also would work, but you need a way to make buttercup fall over since it's too large when it stands on the conveyor belts and won't go into the steel-ball-machine. and unfortunately the rule of thumb is: the more products you make, the more components you loose.

      @williammanning3174 7 лет назад +9

      IronGunner Yeah, I've heard that they simplified certain things like doing away with the with the very annoying repair system. Never the less Fallout 4 adds complexity by introducing the settlement system. You can scavenge raw materials & break those materials down so they can be used to produce what you want or need. That...sounds more complex than what previous Fallout titles had to offer. I'm looking forward to the day when I can buy or build a computer that can run the Fallout 4 program. I actually built a pentium 4 computer centered around playing Fallout 3. It was a fine machine. It was also obsolete by the time I got it assembled. Patience is DEFINITELY a virtue in regards to playing video games because computer hardware values decline so rapidly. Unfortunately, old obsolete verzions of windows operating systems don't seem to go down in value....Good ole ROTTEN WILLIAM (Planescape Torment reference...as well as a reference to Bill Gates) will probably demand you turn over your first child for a DOS 6.0 liscense!!!

    • @kidstv1011
      @kidstv1011 7 лет назад +7

      William Manning The settlement system's complexity is diminished by the lack of complexity and depth within the rest of the game, forgetting so many opportunities for expansive quests and game types.

      I've made a similar factory, it's not that hard, just a lot of specifics you have to take note of. You could probably make this factory if you knew what you are doing, in less than 4 hours.
      I only say 4 because I tend to always mix up the wires by accident >< but other than that it could take no more than 2 hours but that's assuming you are a boss at building and can instantly turn and place each piece and wire it within a 30-60minute period.
      But like I said the devil is in the details, which can be such a pain in the ass

Enjoy your retirement sir. I'm desperately trying to mimic this system and the wiring has got me "F.U.B.A.R.ed." That's alright though, I'll make my own way though it. (Somehow! sob...)

    This was an astounding build.....it took SSSSSOOOOOO much stuff to replicate this factory....but i did it, got everything but your nice office done. I just started playing Fallout 4 just a few days ago, and it took 3 days to gather all the resources. It should be noted that this factory setup could be slightly adjusted to make any factory if you wanted to make anything other than ammo. I had to guess how you did your wiring throughout your building, but the wiring video you did was a GREAT help. THANK YOU!!!

      Heinrich Berthold Put one oil into the component and it will sort out all items that have oil as one of the components. Make sure you use the "component sorter" for this. There is another sorter.

    Sorry if this is obvious, but instead of having to select the same ammo type on both the computer terminal AND the switchboard, why not just hook up the hopper controls to the computer?

    • @Peabody-xv2tg
      @Peabody-xv2tg  7 лет назад +4

      The computer tells the ammo plant what type of ammo to make the switches open the hoppers for the right raw materials. I do not know of any way to open hoppers with the computer, if you do, please let me know.
