1. This build is just amazing. I love how you used the natural quirks of the settlement to sort of guide you and inspire your creativity. 2. I really appreciated that last bit where you were honest about being burnt out. I feel like you don't hear a lot of creators admit those sorts of things. I can't wait to see the next build and I hope your break is well spent!
A fine homestead you've built yourself here, wastelander, but with all that mutfruit planted you're only a blight away from ruin, and that's if you don't fallow yer soil first. Diversification and rotation are a farmer's best friends. (fr though, enjoy a well-earned break. it must be exhausting having to drag these awesome builds kicking and screaming out of todd's jank)
You've inspired me to do my own tour of the Commonwealth again, I've pinched a few of your build ideas along the way, specifically Red Rocket and the Slog which I'd tend not to do much with in each playthrough. Great scrappy builds! It would take some time but I'd love to see a Transfer Settlements mod of all your work.
Nice! I’ve looked forward to this one as County Crossing is one of my main settlement hubs. I did the outer walls the same way, but with my opening up by the ruined house. I’ve got constant Provisioner traffic and they all tend to approach from up that way; same for the trader caravan. I don’t remove trees either, just whatever’s fallen on the ground. I rebuilt the ruined house walls the same way you did, but I’ve built upwards… 3 stories plus a rooftop lookout and a large awning/deck area that extends towards the tin shack. It’s mostly beds for all the settlers & provisioners and about a dozen suits of Power armor out on the awning. I suppose it is boxy-looking like you mentioned but I’m usually building with functionality, defense and settler happiness in mind, not aesthetics. My County Crossing requires a lot of beds! You never seem to have enough beds, imho, but maybe if you don’t have Provisioners involved that makes the difference. The pathways look terrific; that’s a great technique you’ve developed there. I’d never seen the elevator in action before, so that was very interesting. Will the settlers use it as well? Are you dismantling your old settlements in order to decorate new ones? You always have magazines strewn all over the place (or placed in those spinner racks, I don’t know how you’re doing that!) I don’t have excess magazines just lying around to use as decorations; they’re far too valuable and rare! I’m still mystified at your perfect placement of all the objects inside the settlement. I’m playing on PC and controlling and placing even a can of purified water is incredibly difficult. These settlements of yours would take me hundreds of hours to duplicate if I could even manage it in the first place. I think I’d pull all my remaining hair out in frustration. P.S. I was at a comedy show last weekend and the group on stage used a couple front-row audience members throughout the night in their routine. The first guy they roped into participating was 71 years old and when they asked him if he had any hobbies, he said, “playing Fallout 4.” Pretty cool! 😃
Excellent work as always! One thing you could do is add half floors around the top of the elevator to create a balcony for guards to stand on. Can also put down stuff there.
Great job @shawzzo. Some pretty cool features and techniques. I watch your vids from start to finish taking it all in, including looking out for the obligatory deathclaw meat in the bath 😉
I don’t even play this game anymore after the last recent update making certain areas unplayable BUT I have absolutely been loving to watch every video you put out. The settlement building was always my favorite when I first played this game. I’d sink sooo many hours into just that part alone. Never made anything quite as detailed as you have though.
This was mega! Really cool. Ace seeing you do a massive building from scratch and all. Really cool tip about the warehouse floors with the warehouse pillars too! Enjoy the break over the holidays, and come back fresh because we all love watching you work my dude 😎
Ooo just thought, outpost zimonja, murkwater construction site, spectacle island and kingsport lighthouse are the only settlements left that could be used as Mercer safe house for the railroad, maybe have one of them sorta themed towards a safe house sorta style
@@TDogg-yw3wwyup and some people are scared to use simple mods that fix annoying issues. Just for anyone that tries to debate me, I played vanilla fallout 4 for over 5 years, have almost 2k hours in, and I can say for one when I used to play the game w/out mods and it felt downright horrendous XD compared to a solid Load Order.
I really like the way you use the mutfruit plants in this and your sunshine tidings build. It makes it feel so lively and full and a proper field that’s well established and could actually feed a settlement.
Another Shawzzo banger. If I kept typing what I LOVED about this settlement, I’d still be typing. Currently the best settlement builder out there. Hope you enjoy your break, it can be so creatively draining and time-consuming to churn these out. In the time you’ve done all these, I’ve finished Taffington Boathouse & I’m closing in on Sanctuary, and I don’t have the patience to junk decorate, so the effort you put into these is always appreciated.
You definitely deserve a break! Thanks for making such cool videos for us all to enjoy. But you deserve to be having a good time too, burnout is no fun and you gotta take care of yourself. So enjoy the holidays and come back to this when you feel ready to enjoy it again. I look forward to your last video of the year, and to seeing what you come up with next year 💜
Excellent job, although I put my watchtower in the corner facing the direction raiders usually come from. I covered that raised bit with concrete and slapped artillery on it, but I like your idea WAY better. Using the trees to protect the turrets is a nice trick I used often as well. Take your time off, rest, recuperate and try not to think about the MONUMENTAL task that is Spectacle Island...
If settlement decorating doesn't work out, you have a future as an audiobook narrator. I could specifically see Joyce's "Dubliners" fitting well. Not just because of your nationality, but your calm matter-of-fact delivery with just a tinge of dry humor. Either way, great build as always. Happy to see you keeping on keeping on. I'll be ecstatic when you take on Egret Tours Marina. Happy building, Shawzzo. Thanks for sharing. EDIT: Enjoy your break, enjoy your holidays. Take your time. We'll be here when you get back.
You did a great job on that custom building. Whenever I try to make anything large it just ends up empty feeling and purposeless. Amazing settlement build!
You've given me so much inspiration for my own settlement builds that I can't thank you enough. Enjoy the holiday break and looking forward to more next year (after your next video of course) 🤙🤙🤙
You deserve a break mate. You do awesome work and I like watching your videos over others. You got some great ideas that I've used for some of my settlements Cheers
Another fantastic build. I’m waiting on setting up my XBox until I get a TV stand, but I’ve got Notes in my phone of settlement ideas because of your videos. Enjoy the holidays! Always looking forward to your stuff, but get rest 🫶
Another excellent build! I have an older game of mine where I built this settlement into a very scrappy looking city. It has many buildings and even a mansion I built for my character's home. I should try and figure out how to get a video of me walking through the settlement so I can show it off...🤔 But anyway, have a good holiday season. I look forward to your next vid 😊
Good build, although you probably could have put either half floors and the 1/4 floors or some shack pieces to make it look covered around the edge of the watch tower that would have allowed you to put a chair or table or something up there for someone to sit down, maybe a swivel office chair.
so cool as always ! i've been binge watching your rebuilding videos since yesterday and i really like the way you always keep it realistic (compared to all those crazy moded builds out there lol) i am also wondering if you are planning to rebuild vault 88 as well !
I cant wait to see how you will fix up Murkwater and The Castle these builds area always so creative and I can't wait to use some of these techniques on my playthrough
I absolutely hate that there's a lot of things that are not scrap compatible in this game. Like, why tf is there an old car in the middle of my water source that I cant get rid of?? This literally is what got me into mods with Scrap Everything 😂😅 I love your builds, I just subscribed and I am definitely going to binge the series and get some inspiration. Enjoy your break, man!
Been liking the builds so far. But now it's getting a little bit repetitive, I would like to see something more creative, like a Brahman farm, a drug camper school bus, a factory of weapons, A settlement where mirekurks are raised and trained, a military compound, a children's of atom settlement with only the metal walls, little lamplight remade? A zoo?? Arcade? Something new, I know u will be able to make something very special. Keep the good work.
awesome build! i love the entrance area its so cool lore wise. also that shack staircase is the most awkward shape ever, some questionable design by bethesda
once you're done with all the settlements you're gonna do in this save you should do a montage video of quick tours of all the settlements in this save, to really give a feel for the society you've created
on this build alot of npc predesigned places got covered, specially the doc caravan near the campfire on the side of the road, where most of the attacks come from i use scrap everything to get rid of those npc actions places but the ones for the caravans i leave there so it looks more natural the game
I always try to implement some of your ideas but on a much smaller scale. I try not to go over the build limit cos my weak ass PS4 would crash constantly 😂😂 Your settlements always look epic. Good job, as usual 👏🏾👏🏾
🤣🤣🤣 the troublemaker in the stocks 🤣🤣🤣 Another great build. I appreciate your creativity and the story that goes along with each settlement. Thanks for sharing. 💚 edit: enjoy your vacation!
I am currently playing Fallout 4 for the first time and am using this series as a kind of companion guide for inspiration on my on settlements...however they are pretty basic in terms of decorations.
Great build. I have noticed I been focusing on building up all the settlements I have attached to me. I build greenhouses to grow food. I also have went back to add power water pumps at sites that don’t have a pond. I do have a question and it’s settlement happiness the highest I got is 85
Yeah screw that guy in the way 😂 send him to the arena! What about streaming DayZ? If you like Stalker then DayZ might interest you too. As always great video of another amazing build ❤
Just finished the video, I agree u should take a rest, pretty sure doing only settlements and hearing the same old settler voice lines is not gonna do something good for u, still you've managed to be unique and build a community, time to build other things, take a good rest, also a good video idea, make the viewers build some stuff and just react to it, maybe a live stream, cheers
When you set up the buildings or houses, what do you pay attention to? That rooms are filled with objects or details? Asked cheekily, do some facilities actually make sense?

I do really like what you do with the pathways

A fallout player who enjoys building settlements? ❤❤❤❤
I hope they refine the system in fallout 5...they gotta see videos like these and think "wow"
@forthenight3265 knowing Bethesda, they will make it worse somehow 😭😭😭
