hello
@@SheikahRey hello is a very good question indeed. I think you should do one on glitches, even though they aren't intended.
Hi
@@Ganondorf_dragmire_of_Gerudo even better question than the last one
In Age of Calamity, it was shown that Revali was battling Wind Blight with almost exclusively bomb arrows. I wonder if that scene was an explanation to its resistance to him, having resistance to explosions in BOTW.
My dad helped in the crartion of age of calamity yes you are correct

Wow, the game wasn’t kidding when it said that Link was. A full on warrior, his resistance is quite impressive compared to the other enemies.

Another excellent video with lots of useful information. It’s so much fun learning about all the different mechanics and systems botw has behind the scenes. Testing out some of these things for myself almost makes the wait for totk more bearable. Lol. Keep up the good work! 😊
Anything to ease the wait for the new game! Bet we'll still discover lots even after TotK comes out 😅
Thank you though glad you enjoyed! :)
These stats videos are incredible. You can tell how much work/effort goes into them, so thank you for making them for us!
I absolutely LOVE these stat videos, they're interesting and informative!
I'd listen to you if you made lectures any day, it would be so fun!
If only Breath of the Wild was a subject in school.. 😅
Thank you though glad you enjoy!! :)
I know school would be so much more fun
I didn’t know Muldukings were so strong because I did indeed use a 5 shot bow with shock arrows
The bomb calculations are actually really interesting. Most of the damage caused by bombs in real life are actually caused by the concussive force outside the point of impact. For this reason, when bombs are dropped on a city, the are actually detonated above the ground, not on impact. It causes more damage that way. I learned that from an old army vet.
That... doesn't make any sense.
If I put a piece of TNT in your hand and it suddenly erupted into a hellish inferno, that is going to do more damage than the shockwave it causes.
@@Alizudo That... reads like you didnt actually take in what was said. Nobody is arguing that you'll be safe if you hold a stick of dynamite. What's said is that a large portion of the damage inflicted by real explosives is in the shockwave and shrapnel, which are more evenly spread when detonated a little above the ground compared to on it.
@@benjaminshields9421
But that doesn't make any sense.
Yes shrapnel is very deadly, but I'm not just cutting you with shrapnel, I'm *_setting you on fire._* I cannot see how being at the point of eruption is not objectively more deadly.
@@Alizudo bro you can't um actually physics.
@@somedragonbastard
I'm not saying the shockwave isn't deadly: my brother-in-law fought in Iraq and can first-hand confirm that even behind a concrete wall with zero shrapnel, the shockwave can still cause brain-damage from impact forces.
*_HOWEVER,_* taking all of that into account, if I hit you with all of that force IN ADDITION to *_setting you on fucking FIRE,_* I am doing more damage than shock-force alone.
It’s so awesome to see another stats video! Even when I think I know everything about the game you come up with some amazing thing I never knew xD
I will always find more to unpack about this game!!!

thank you for still making videos, I'm glad your getting good views too. The botw community is a bit dead right now :(.
Thanks for putting out the best BOTW content on RUclips
Random Compliment Time! You're one of the only channels I see actually putting in the effort of adding (or in this case, linking to) a soundtrack list in the video description! As usual, great job researching and excellent content
This is why you are my favorite botw RUclipsr, you can go in depth with complex things about the game and make it sound so simple to understand
also are you planning to make a goron only run?
Happy you enjoy these, thank you!! 😄
I have no plans to do a Goron run as there are plenty of other runs I want to do that are a lot more fun!

Great video, Croton!
Thank you lots!! 😄
The Molduking stuff was super interesting!
Reasons for being desperate to play the forthcoming Zelda game: (2) to play the game myself; (1) to watch Croton's videos taking said new game apart and playing it with my kids in ways we never thought possible. Thank you for the past 5 years! x
Hope you have a great time with it when it comes out!! And thank you, means a lot!
Fabulous! You are still teaching me more 👍.
Always good content😊
Great job with this video! They must have been wildly confusing to figure out all the stats since they all kept on changing situationally.
Thank you Bread man! 🍞
Trying to figure out the stats of something based on an initial hypothesis on how it works is pretty tricky ngl xD
@@Croton Do you ever dig into the game files?
Once and a while, for this video it was all in-game testing - but I've found several things out by digging through the asset files and whatnot! Specifically when doing my stealth stats video and trying to figure out enemy vision cones as that would have been way harder with in game testing
@@Croton Dude, that is METAL! I'm blown away by how much testing it must have taken to figure it out.

I can't believe how there is still new content to be made about this game.

Incredible facts!
I just started playing botw last Christmas and was looking in a lot of videos. Because, yeah it's botw and it's just so complex.

Slightly unrelated question: how is durability affected when hitting multiple enemies with one swing?
Each hit drops the durability
Some really useful stuff!
Since this may carry on into the second game.
Cannot wait for Stats of the Kingdom to blow my mind after the game itself already does
Here you dropped this👏🏼

croton is the most polite man on youtube
I was wondering if you would ever do a video on the three dragons that are found within the game. When you cook with one of their parts, it massively increases the duration and strength of whatever items you are cooking- i.e- attack buffs, speed. Is there a tier system like with the other buffs you discussed (bananas, mushrooms, etc.) or do you think they are all just going to make whatever you cook overpowered? I've always wondered where they go after you shoot them with an arrow, why you cannot shoot them more than once to obtain an extra part, as well as whether or not they will be featured in the new game. Sorry for the long questions, these are just things I've wondered about when playing the game. I enjoy watching your videos and am curious about your take on them. Thank you for the great content!
Whenever this guy upload a my day is better by tenfold
There's probably a small amount of i-frames that prevent bomb arrow blasts from dealing damage on a direct hit but don't stop the knock back. There aren't a ton of i-frames because you can take multiple arrow shots in quick succession, but there may be a handful of frames that prevent simultaneous damage or damage on consecutive frames.
Good video keep it up
DRILLSHAFT GANG!
Hey crouton, nice vid. Can you make a blss tutorial? Thanks
Thank you!
I don't know how to blss at the moment, sorry!
Croton is the only person in the world who could say that his uncle works at Nintendo and I would believe him instantly
The champion is back!
5:28 thats really cool. if only I had time to realize any of this before they die instantly because they get knocked down and have tiny baby health
btw, something i found out in my mastermode playthrough is that freezing an enemy and then attacking them with shock type damage applies bonus damage and creates a shock orb for even more damage :)
Great video
Thank you!
@@CrotonHave you though of making a video explaining how to do glitches and how they work?
1. I used to call the lizalfos electric attack lizalfos fury
2. Ancient arrows against guardian scouts with multiahot bows?
That's a cool name
5:34 The Master Sword Beams were swinging off to the upper right because you had the magneisus rune equipped
I think the bomb arrow on player damage weirdness might be I frames after damage type of thing. Like the arrow hits first and activates I frames, but cause the explosion happens right after impact it's caught in the I frames
More then likely!
It's just odd how the explosions fire damage doesn't apply during the blast, but you can still take other elemental damage while having those Iframes (elemental damage typically ignores Iframes for everything but this blast fire)
So excited for botw 2! I’m sure it’s gonna bring even more fans of the game to the channel!
itd be cool to see more videos on age of calamity, but i understand if not much is known about the game internally. these botw ones are always fascinating at least
I held off on doing AoC stats because hack n slash games are less interesting in this regard imo - too many micro systems to break down that are ever changing as a character levels up
Glad you like the botw ones, and will do tons for TotK too!
yeah thats valid, this games way more interesting anyway lol. And yeah for sure man, keep up the good work :) im looking forward to the totk series!!
I want Tears of the Kingdom to be out so I can spend like 6 months beating it and then ill come back here and have years of content!
Awesome video! I guess, next time I do a full playthrough, I'll have to fight the Blights using only MS beams... that's pretty cool how they only do 30>max with the traditional tunic uniforms but a full 60 on Blights! And, now, since you can get the MS with just 12XP, you can do it for all 4!!! I, actually, always thought that the upgraded MS is way weaker than it should be, anyways. I mean, TotS takes some crazy skills and thinking to beat! Surely, the MS trials -- if the trials are completed -- deserves more of a reward?! Maybe like 120 damage per hit with it and 60 per beam, anyway! Also, it could use some more durability; as, it basically can only take a little more than two Gold Lynels at a time... I mean, maybe it shouldn't have any more durability, actually; bc, 2 Gold Lynels is a fair amount of durability!?! So, maybe the upgraded durability is good enough where it's at; but, definitely it should take on 60 damage sword beams and 120 attack power, and still have the 188 durability once upgraded, as the damage increase would make it last longer, anyway!!! I just think the Mastersword is a little underwhelming in the game. What do you think the MS stats should be? Or, do you think it's good how it already is? But, those trials are harsh, especially on Mastermode... you have to be quick and clever, otherwise: you're done! It's easy to be unable to continue if you chew through all your weapon durability with them regenning and all and be left with nothing but bombs to finish a room!
Or, maybe, at least make it that if you're wearing the tunic sets that it should take on those increased STATS?
I so agree that the MS was underwhelming, especially if you only have the base game. 30 to 60 points around malice should have been 40 to 80 imo. Especially compared to 1500+ point guardians, 60 points isn’t a lot.
7:39 Of course explosion is an elemental, Handsome Jack taught us that one.
He is back
yay another great video as always. would you rather have 10 times the skill at botw or 10 times the fun?
Having more skill can make BotW more fun, but if the fun comes naturally without it that's how it should be :D
@@Croton hey quick question how do you get farosh’s horn? I’m only getting scales
fun
@@SheikahRey it depends on where you shoot the dragon
@@SheikahRey You have to hit the horn directly with an arrow. It's a tad annoying, the best way to do it is to wait for him in a good spot where you can intercept him head on. There's a specific spot I found for that, but I haven't played in a while and I totally forget where it was. I believe it was somewhere up high above where you get all the Mighty Bananas and near the Durians somewhere along a waterfall just across the stable, but I could be remembering that wrong.
Haven’t watched you in quite a while
10:18 I hate long throw overrides critical hit
Sliver the moblin
Zang this useful
Yeah... 1-2 damage per shekia bomb to a guardian... I know that all too well (even if not the exact number). In my very first playthrough, i found a cliff just outside kakiriko village (zora's river side) with a visible guardian. Why i did it i have no clue, but i spent the next 30-60 minutes just rolling bombs down the hill to attack a moderately far off guardian, backing up whenever it fixed its sights on me to break line of sight. Yes, i killed the stalker in question, arguably far earlier in progression (even including skill) than was intended.
I should use some of them to help me as a botw noob. This will help a lot.
I love BoTW fact videos so much, its crazy how much stuff you can learn from them
To think you still had one of these in your pocket… Good freaking job, my dude!
Still a bit more to come as well! Thank you glad you enjoy 😄
Emotes in the closed captions...A sign of true taste!
So, Croton...You looking forward to picking apart Tears of the Kingdom to educate us poor, foolish masses regarding its secrets?
100%!! Looking forward to breaking down that game as well, can't wait to see what they do differently! 😄
fun fact: the hinox's eye takes critical hits from melee strikes too!
The easiest way to do this is doing a ground-slam attack with a two handed weapon right after the hinox "ground pounds"
Watching this after TotK, the Bokoblins particularly look so weird without the horns.
Good to know the for muldugaking 👍
I hope there are more enemy mobs in the next game. The three main ones in BotW entertained me way longer than they should have
@@everythingtube172 it's so perfect man it's everything I could've ever asked for in this sequel
Cool!
i think the bomb arrows don't do full damage upon direct hit of the player is because they immediately go into ragdoll and can't take damage from enemies in that state
TotK is coming out on my birthday from what it says lets go
Where was he at 8:20 and 8:50 with the floating mobs? And how do you find the molduking? It it from a dlc?
Weird, I've had great success with spamming multi-shot bomb arrows against Water and Windblight. Maybe it's about quality VS quantity.
Ah yes, blown back to safety
Cronton do a Knights only challenge by using only Knights and soldiers gear
Hi Croton!
Long Throw is quickly coming into its own. It is like the Superman logo in Seinfeld episodes at this point.
Next can you do a video where you learn to do combat glitches? They're really fun and easy to do (most of them) and it unlocks a whole new level of epicness to the combat in the game
Not a huge fan of the combat glitches in BotW, sorry! Besides using the spear spin hitbox exploit and the occasional shock trap, I much prefer the style of advanced vanilla combat
@@CrotonI can understand that. Your content is still very entertaining
Since shock damage can stack in bullet time, your damage rate can increase, and with a multi-shot bow that should go even further.
Also, a Talus can be literally disarmed with explosives.
8:28 Do you reckon that it's intended that bomb arrows do more damage when you're hit directly, but because of the way damage is calculated and Link's immunity directly after receiving damage, you only get hurt by the direct arrow hit and the game makes you immune for the explosion that happens a fraction of a second later?
50 second ago? Lemme tell you I screamed
How is damage calculated for Master Kohga and the DLC boss Maz Koshia?
How do Ancient Arrows work against bosses, mini-bosses and guardians?
Babe, wake up, Croton uploaded
I'm only now finding out that a Molduking exists
4:23 I heard that music and I got very scared
Fantastic, as usual! Always new facts, even for obsessive players. Do the the thunderstorm rods work against Molduking if you hit him with the actual rod, though?
With Simitar of the seven+electicity the damage is 6.4*7.5 equals 48 damage.
Also If a Jedi's plasma blade acts and moves like a straight boomerang it's going to slice through everything.
And imagine if a Guardian Sword++ with the long throw stat or moded plasma blade has a 300% to 700% increase when thrown and moving like a boomerang an does multihit, along with calculations with Armor and food buffs.
I'm typing this as an idea about making long throw viable. Because long throw stats make the thrown Mallets, heavy spears with more momentum.
wow good video
5:12 fighting Waterblight in the Sanctum with the floor broken? How’d you manage that?
If you reload the save out of the Ganon fight and refight the blight right after, the broken floor still stays from the Ganon cutscenes! (You can't actually fall through tho there's an invisible platform flushed with the floor)
Sorry, but I gotta "Um Actually" part of this. You say that on the Molduking, using an electric attack will "exponentially multiply the value of the attack by 7.5 times". You just mean "multiply the attack by a factor of 7.5". Exponentially means that the rate of change of the damage depends on the damage dealt -- e.g. if the Molduking took more or less damage as the fight went on and more damage was dealt, that would be exponential. If it's just a damage multiplier (where instead of dealing 10 damage, it deals 10*7.5=75 damage), that is not exponential.
Where are you on the map in the bomb arrow section with the bokoblin on the floating platform?
4:58 at this moment, I realized how much time I wasted attacking that guardian with only bombs in my first play through.
An idea for a Botw challenge Link only items
i have a question how does the number on armor effect the damaged reduced
