What about the Blight Ganons’ rematches in the Champion’s Ballad?
Do you have a list for the music in this video?

until I learned that the blights scale, I never understood why people had a problem with thunder blight, since it was my first, it was super easy, but a lot of people leave it for last
Ironically, people leave it for last because it's the worst; people think that making it last will make it easier (since they'll have more weapons, more health, better armour, etcetera)
I always rushed Thunder first, even if it much harder with the weak equipment, because I knew that the rest of the blights got stronger in some way after defeating one of them. Thanks to this video, I shall make this my strategy every time, whenever I decide to return to BoTW.
@@Alizudo That’s what I thought after I beat Windblight in Vah Medoh so I calmed Vah Naboris and slayed Thunderblight Ganan.
Man I first attempted it as my second beast (waterblight was the 1st) and it kicked my ass so bad I put the game down for a couple months. Then I went and did windblight and grinded shrines until I had full stamina, the master sword and upgraded ruins and thunder blight still took a couple tries. This was my first Zelda and I did play the game completely blind for the most part except from advice from a couple friends.
My route has always been thunderblight, then waterblight because Miphas grace is helpful to me and it takes 6 urbosas furys, which I think stacks nice, then windblight cause I can never for the life of me remember how to get up death mountain correctly, and finally fireblight which is the only one my phone doesn’t want to autocorrect
I’m starting to think that everything exists in the world can be break down to math, as long as you have the passion
Thank you guys for the reply, though now I think the meaning should be, I used to thought it was impossible to break down to math, but now I think it’s possible as long as you have the passion.
That has been known for centuries lol.
That's especially true for any video games but also holds true for life. That's why math is amazing
More accurately, everything operates on unseen laws and principles and we can express these things through math.
this is literally true for every single thing in the entire universe
can we break my forever lasting disastrous emotional pain into math?
Today we will find out!
For this video I invited multiple Math professors...
The hp scaling really makes the game unique and definitely adds some challenge going later throughout the game, and i love how they make all the blights in the castle 2000hp to encourage the player to head to the divine beast. Theres also most of these properties i never knew how some attacks have damage scaling because i usually make quick work of them lol
The damage scaling isn't super significant enough to notice half of the time (unlike the health scaling) but it's still important and neat that it's there!!!
I really appreciate the 2000hp sanctum blights as well for that same reason
no
Yes
I never once thought of stasising the ice blocks, this game still surprises me to this day.
lol, thats what I did. stasis/arrows OP
I didn't think of it when I first fought Waterblight. But then, in the DLC Champions' Ballad rematch, they didn't provide me with enough arrows to kill it with arrows alone, so after spending way too long not knowing what to do, I finally decided to try stasis launching the blocks.
@@justanothergamer9570 I used cryonis to break them
@@ProffesionalIdiot Cryonis can break the ice blocks, but stasis can allow you to hit them back at Waterblight for pretty significant damage. And in the Waterblight rematch in the Champions' Ballad DLC, you're only given a small number of arrows and a few Zora spears, making stasis-launching the ice blocks arguably the best strategy.
This video just makes me wish even more that the blights still did their boss rush even after beating all four divine beasts in master mode; having them as a final refresher course before diving down to face the final boss would have been a lot of fun and amped up the challenge.
Also, now I'm curious how much of the game you can do using only parries as your source of damage.
Honestly it would be cool to have them all before Ganon still! But I get why they aren't, it would throw off the whole sense of reward of doing them before hand
I guess in that way, it encourages multiple playthroughs of the game so you can play again just to rush the sanctum!
Honestly if the refights happened after beating them, it would be more rewarding to see how strong they could be. Also it really doesn’t make sense that they can be in the castle and control the beast at the same time.
According to PointCrow's video on beating Breath of the Wild without a shield, you can beat a straight to Ganon run using only parries except for second phase Waterblight. He was only able to beat second phase Waterblight with moonjumps and a lynel shield. He did have to use a bomb against Fireblight, but only because he wasn't willing to switch away from the lynel shield in order to parry the fireball.
@@MarcusTalks1 Ganon recalls them when Link goes into the castle, simple explanation
@@RycoonGalloy I meant them controlling the divine beast while in the castle. I understood how they got there, but not how they do both.
Another cool fact you missed: Master sword beams deal 60 damage to blights despite only dealing 20.
For his neutral special, Windblight ganon wields a gun.
If only they had their Age of Calamity designs in Breath of the Wild. Maybe then I'd find them more memorable bosses. :P
THOSE WERE SO COOL!! A lot more colorful and vibrant in that game, I was a big fan!! (even some extra moves too!!)
What if Malice monsters, or elemental monsters from age of calamity were in breath of the wild? Ok, now someone has to mod it
@@andrew-the-cartoonist7162 I think someone has
Most likely
Waterblight Ganon had the coolest new design. I wish they were all playable characters.
Okay idk why that was so funny I love how BotW is a game set in a kinda mediaeval fantasy period and you have a wide range of weapons to choose from but Windblight says screw that and just pulls out a gun
"for his neutral special, he uses a gun"
And then there's the ancient technology which includes advanced robotics, a modern phablet with a working Google Maps and instant updates, teleportation, and freaking lightsabers haha
Yes!!! A 20+ minute video you already know it’s gonna be epic! Can’t wait for maybe a part 2 some time with Max Koshia and the overworld bosses 👀
It's crazy how many stats there are to the bosses, and how they really haven't been dived into before! Maz Koshia would be a cool one to check out for the future 😄 Thank you!!
@@Croton you might need to do a part 2 and 3 depending if the champion's balled is changed possibly one for champions ballad including blights and Devine beasts and part 3 could be overworld bosses 😀
Makes me miss old RUclips when videos where meatier and longer

I'm absolutely in love with this armour scaling technique
haven't picked up BOTW in months but this is reminding me how brilliant of a game it is and motivating me to pick it back up! One question: if you leave a beast during a blight fight, go defeat another divine beast, and then go back to that first fight, how are the blights scaled?
(Specifically, I'm thinking about my first playthrough when I got my ass handed to me by Thunderblight so many times that I left the fight, took down Windblight, and then went back to Thunder. Because Thunderblight was the third blight I began fighting but the fourth one that I defeated, how many HP did he have once I eventually defeated him?)
I'm glad you asked!!
The game only counts the blight kill itself as triggering the scaling, so if you back out of your first blight fight, you could go to any other beast/blight and it will still be at the first! Then if you return to the original one after, it'll be at its second.
When making this video I actually made a save after finishing all 4 beasts terminals but before the blight fights, so I could test all them at their different scaling orders!
@@Croton additional, similar question, does killing blights in sanctum still scale ones in the beasts
@@Croton cool, thank you! this video rocked
@@purevessle2641 The games final save is before the sanctum, so if you beat the blights there and then Ganon, nothing truly saves - therefore having no effect on the scaling!
0:39 you can parry fire balls?!
Edit: waterblights spear too?!!
I love how much work you put into all of your videos. You work on the subtitles, your effort is incredible when it comes to your editing, and it's very easy to understand. The best thing is that you're excited about your work all the time!! I'm showing that I'm just as excited as you, having fun when adding an extra exclamation or question mark. It makes you feel organic, and human, and I love that. Every little detail is worked on beautifully and makes me really happy that you've taken the time to discover and study them, like a true researcher. Keep it up! Sadly, I can't watch your streams due to my homework, but I'll do my best to support you in the rest of your videos!
Your words are very appreciated, thank you so much! 😄 It takes a while to make these but I have a lot of fun researching and putting them together, and I'm glad I get to help spread the knowledge in an enjoyable way!!
What a cute comment
You should do a video on flower blight Gannon, maybe tords the beginning of April.
Something you missed about master mode, is that Calamity Ganon has a very special property in master mode.
Normally during the 2nd phase there’s a glitch that speedrunners like to use using the spin of a claymore that puts him in a stunlock. But when playing in master mode this glitch is actually fixed so you have to fight him legit.
It’s pretty cool seeing them account for speedrunners since they always run normal mode.
honestly I feel like the blights, Devine beasts, and shrines are frowned upon by lot's of people but i really appreciate the work that went into them even though I probably think second wind improved them all. of the Devine beasts and shrines have unique ways to beat them (except for the tests of strength those really suck with the amount of them)even the blights are all similar and unique at the same time. they really are awesome in my opinion and I appreciate them for what they are. thanks for the video had lot's of details that I didn't know before
sorry for the bad grammar. grammar was never a easy subject for me
Hey I'm glad!! 😄
Second wind (at least at the moment) doesn't change any of the beasts, which is fine because I love them as is as well! They're very unique compared to other games, and the blights are all fun fights (despite their visual similarities that people often complain about)
@@Croton as i said before bad grammar I was just talking about the shrines. currently I'm watching the vods to catch up
I like how people will write a whole thesis about how not being able to pause during combat in Elden Ring is an important artistic choice, but then you have people praising mods. I guess the artistic choices of the BotW dev team are neglectable, but that just goes to show that Gamers don't actually care about artistic freedom.
Even with the HP scaling, they were still rather easy to me. I do wish they respawned during a Blood Moon if you choose not to free the Divine Beast yet, though. Maybe not in the Divine Beast (although it's not like they're actually back under Link's control if you choose not to interact with the main control module after the fight, as Naboris still electrocutes you if you travel too close to it, so it could still probably work out), but maybe in the castle before Ganon.
Maybe in Master mode you would have to fight the AOC versions, you know the ones where all of them become more vibrant and get more stuff, like Windblight dual weilding cannons, Waterblight getting a cryosis chain mace, and... well Fireblight and Thunderblight stay mostly the same.
Amazing research and video yet again! Well done and thanks for spreading the knowledge ^^
Let’s go the man is here
This is truly amazing. Kudos to you for putting together all of this. Yet another incredible stats video!
Croton, you teach me sooooo much.
I truly respect your tenacity while figuring this all out!
I definitely WILL put this to good use!
I appreciate it, thank you very much! 😄
This was really cool! I used to regret not leaving Thunderblight for last, since I had such a hard time with him, but then I learned about the scaling. Now I'm really glad that I didn't.
This is a great stats video, Croton! I can tell you put in a ton of time & effort to analyze these details. I definitely appreciate your effort! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with us.
Of course, really glad you enjoyed this!! It was fun to make but did take a ton of time haha
Wow what a video i love the stats of the wild series and i cant wait to see what stats you will explain in the next video😁
This video is actually so helpful for challenge runs, amazing video as always buddy! 👏
Now it's time for you to hop into more challenge runs
Thanks man!!
Thank you so much for this! I didn't realise the reflections were so complicated! This is going to be incredibly helpful for a project I'm working on, assuming I manage to pull it off.
I noticed in the Ancient Bow section you were waiting for Ganon's shield to drop in order to shoot him - I don't know if you're aware that the Ancient Bow can shoot right through Ganon's shield as long as you're firing in bullet time.
I never tested this, really! I'll have to check it out!
And thank you, glad you found this helpful :D
I love the HK music in the background, amazing video, never new the beasts scaled like that
I'd love to see behind the sceans! Always curious how you got those detailed data for us
10:20 was NOT expecting daughter of hallownest here lmao, I have it as my alarm sound so I was double caught off guard
This video is extremely informative and interesting and has me wondering--have you thought about doing a research project on guardian scouts vs other types of guardians and how they differ from other enemies in the game in their attack output and other factors like that? Love your content and will definitely be coming back to this one in the future. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!! I have covered some loose things about guardians before but I could make a vid in the future going over everything unqiue about the big ones and even scouts!! That would be fun to look into, I'm glad you find this all interesting too!
Yayyyy new vid! About to watch it!
Nice! I love this series ❤️
Another stats of the wild video! A miracle has graced this land of Hyrule...
I opened youtube at the right time
What an exhaustive look at this! Really informative and interesting. Definitely earned my like + sub!
I love these BotW Stat videos! You're amazing!
Thank you!! :D
The Hollow Knight music goes perfectly with blight fights!
Wow, when you said this was going to be a big one, you weren't kidding! That must have been insanely tedious to figure out without straight numerical values, and I would indeed LOVE a video on the behind the scenes of these Stats! Thank you so much for all your hard work and research, this was extremely informative!
Great video!
The Ancient buff stuff is especially nice.
I've been waiting for one of your Stat videos for a while, I was wondering what you'd be doing next. I can't wait for your tears of the kingdom Stat videos :3
Very interesting stuff, thanks!
I'll never understand how you have the patience for projects like this, but your videos are always informative. I'm surprised they didn't have Calamity Ganon get stronger with each Phantom Ganon you kill, that way people probably would've complained less about the final boss being too easy. I like that the Divine Beasts actually give you an advantage in gameplay, but they could've had him hit harder with each Divine Beast you free. I guess they tried a little bit, though, since even with fully upgraded armor he can do two hearts of damage to Link.
Just about to play the blights again on master mode! Appreciate the info!!
yaay more stats
Amazing work!!!
more secret stats, love these
I’m learning a lot here.
But I’m very thankful for that.
Cuz I’m gonna need it , cuz like when I do go up to any of those Blights.
So thank you for teaching me.
Holy shit, I thought I knew a lot about the blight fights, but this video is full of information I didn't know, especially about the extra reflection damage. Thank you so much for all the hard work and research you put into these!
Glad I could show you a few things then, thank you lots!
6:52 I HAS NO IDEA! THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL!
I just wanted to say, you're my favorite Zelda youtube ever! Your content never fails to make my day
this all would’ve been nice to know, since i literally just today beat calamity ganon for the first time, and tbh i was expecting it to be a bit harder, but it was fun and beautiful
I reccomend the dlc if you don't have it yet.
Yay! I can finally understand blights!
Nice touch playing a Wind Waker song when talking about the Windblight Ganon!! I see you man lol xD
That's a really interesting video. Makes a lot of sense. Man, I should have done naboris first lol
This video was especially good with all the data!
I really like how neat and understandable this data is
Every time I watch one of these videos, I see something like that ice cube trick that makes me realize I've only scratched the surface of what's possible in this game.
This
Is
Mad
I love it.
Love the videos
YES holy shit thank you this is so helpful!
Good touch with the hornet music ;) made me come down here and comment. I have a hornet pin on my LoZ ball cap that I was messing with during the video
My 1st divine beast was this windblight and I really thought this action 12:30 meant its time to do a finisher with an arrow as soon as it stood still and a pink circle formed over the blue center dot like a target with a sliver of its health remaining. It just went into the death scene screen cinematic after shooting the arrow, no blue laser beam had a chance to come out. Those bows you get from Rito are pretty good are targeting those tiny little circles.
Always appreciate the time and research you put into these videos. Thank you so much!
Awesome video, very instructive as always.
I suppose the Champion's Ballad blights are all Sanctum-level?
Great video. Interested to see how the refights in DLC are different too. I think they have 1500hp or something and some have different weaknesses... I think they also have different weakness to fury
Finally after years one of these vids
I thought untill this day that they were always the same. Thank you for the info :D
5:24 - this is the first video I've seen that shows a player successively parrying blasts in a row. I've been trying to do this lately and wasn't sure it was possible with the time delay/slow motion effect. Now I'll keep trying :)
THE GOAT IS BACK
Loved this video and would love and behind the scenes! I wonder what the stats are when you fight them as a memory in the DLC? Is it the same as in wherever you go first has the smallest health?
Thank you I appreciate it!!
I still need to look into those, I heard somewhere that they have 1500 health but I would need to test all of this myself including damage/reflections!
Dude I knew none of this thanks for telling us. I really appreciate it
And here I was, thinking we already saw all stats
Wow I learned a lot from this video very interesting 🤔 I've had a lot of opinions about how the blights work but you explained it perfectly
Glad to help!! Thank you 😄
The perfect arc on that broadsword though.
when i was modding the game (at the time to give myself infinate flight + cimbing + a few other things) I think i saw some of the variables you are talking about here.
This is so interesting.
Mechanically speaking thunderblight is an absolute menace. I knew he dealt a lot of damage but dang.
I know, at times you feel helpless and his next attack starts right when you regain control (and your equipment) from his last one. Definitely a wake-up boss
I love how queens gardens is the music in the background instead of Zelda music
12:10 Random, COMPLETELY unrelated thing to notice relative to the context of the video, but I just now got to appreciate that Fireblight's Giant Fireball animation is very reminiscent to how Frieza controls the Deathball in Bardok: Father of Goku. He creates the ball, then balances it on a fingertip, and then points the finger down at you to fling it forward. Super cute and sassy for a boss otherwise based on *STRONK*
I never really had issues with it because I found timing a flurry rush on his attack where he zips around before slashing pretty forgiving. For some reason Thunderblight and one-handed sword Lynels are the only enemies I can consistently flurry rush but it makes the fight much easier
I barely play Breath of The Wild anymore, but I find these videos endlessly interesting for some reason.
I learned a lot and i've beaten the game 8 times and I did'nt know any of this.
I would really like a video on how elemental effects and/or runes work in age of calamity, because there’s a lot at work there.
I've missed this series
Hey Croton I enjoy your videos a lot being also a Zelda fan so I know you already beat the game using only amibo equipment but could you do a video of using only amobo damage? Like when the chest fall it does damge so maybe you could drop a bunch of amibo chest on top of the Ganon? If that’s too hard maybe you could do a video of beating botw with a chest or metal box smashing the enemies just a suggestion though 👍🏻😁
10:03
Ahhh Hollow Knight music, I can still hear hornet saying SHAW over it
Yo Croton
i have an idea that would be really cool if it was in totk. What if the blights are there and when you kill one, their weapon goes into your special items tab. You can put it on links weird arm and use it, however it has a cooldown timer like the master sword. Maybe windblight's gun would cost an ancient part each use and if you tried to throw it, you would shoot a laser like a guardian at the cost of an ancient core. I just think that would be a really fun way to play the game.
I feel like you should write a book for all these very specific stats about the game, would definitely be useful
You should do Maz Koshia next!
Do a three heart no armour run. You have to do the divine beasts as well >:)
Ah, that explains something i was confused by-I went through a lot of trouble to get an upgraded rubber set for Thunderblight, thinking it would make me completely immune immune to the electric attacks-only to find they still did a good chunk of damage!
Apparently, even the things that look completely elemental are actually mostly physical...with no real indication other than painful trial and error.
I recently replayed the game yet again, decided to use ancient arrows against windblight since i had full ancient profiency set and a lot of ancient weapons,5 ancient arrows completed the boss,it was the third boss after water and thunder blights
I'm a hollow knight fan and got confused for a second when I recognized the osts😂 Did not expected to meet them in BotW vids. I was like "oh god am I hallucinating things from waiting for silksong too long"
Anyway thanks for great video!
Haha thought it would be the most fitting music for this! Hollow knight ost rocks
Thank you glad you enjoyed 😄
the health scaling is interesting since the hardest one i fought was the first, thunder blight
Hello croton I love your vids how to you get your research
I beat breath of the wild 100% 4 times (minus korroks). I had no idea there was damage scaling when it comes to the blights.
Thanks croton :-)
You included the Lace music and I can't forgive you for reminding me Silksong isn't out yet
