People on forums say you can get a replacement keyless entry of ebay for $6 or so... 315mhz + you program it using a procedure.... some garage openers might work too. The lock places overcharge and probably should have used a better transmitter if you are paying $80...

One big problem with the V6 Camry from 97-01 is that they never made enough of them that came with a 5 speed manual transmission.

Wow the factory really goofed up and put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car!

I believe the 97-01 Camry LE is actually one of the sweet spot models. 4-cylinder engine that's smooth and reasonably strong, with lots of space in the engine bay to do work. Simple 4-speed transmission good enough for a smooth ride, yet very reliable. No annoying alarm system requiring an RFID pill in the key (makes for cheap keys). Roomy interior that holds up well. Problem issues such as bad window regulators or bad door locks can be addressed with cheap replacement parts. I bought my '01 with 129k miles and am so impressed with this car!

My mom has an LE (dont know what year) and she never changes oil or puts air in the tires and abuses the transmission AND rarely puts gas in it but guess what? It runs like a charm

My 1990 Camry has power windows front and back, power mirrors too, but it's Gli model.

Basic is the most important thing in engineering in my eyes. I would vomit trying to figure out some of the controls in a 2019 Mercedes for example.

It's nice to know that none of these issues apply to my '01 Camry. Hooray for American models? Loved the reference to the massive trunk at the end there, too.

One problem you overlooked was, your steering wheel is on the wrong side. Better get that fixed.

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry LE V6 and it has all power windows, the center console is good (no sound when I rest my elbow on it), recently placed a Viper 5706V security system with remote start (1 mile range), tinted with Suntek CXP 18% rear, 45%front, Alpine iLX-650 7" screen with Alpine KTA-450 Amp and Alpine R series (2019) speakers (front/back). Love it! And it's got 267,000+ miles on it.

Nice video, young fella. There is hope for the future with young car guys like you coming up through the ranks. I'm buying my 2nd daughter a 2002 Camry to learn on and have as her first car, but we'll get a nice 3.0 litre, put the Sachs on each corner, decent rubber and good brakes, port and polish and nice headers and straight through with a remap because Dad has to be in it too. Heheheheheheheh

Pretty cool video. Quite humorous. I'm loving my 2001 Camry. It's been thru so much, but I do take good care of it. Ive owned it for 4 years, and paid $1800. Absolutely great deal!

I have one of these, excecpt the vienta so it has rear electric windows (wooo) and I highly recommend going on ebay and spending $20 on an ebay remote for the locks, it pairs up easily and the range is more like 15meters rather than being right on top of the car. Keep making sick camry content mate, good job :)

Nice points on the Camry! aha I agree with the center console quite annoying. I have the American build Camry 2001 Gallery edition. First time seeing a Camry with both pwr windows and manual windows! Nice content def going to subscribe.
