Been trying forever to get my dad to change the spark plugs in my car but I think I'm gonna give this a go tomorrow! I wanna get into working on and taking care of my car better.
Great video. Thanks for making it! My Australian '98 Camry has single outer electrodes. As far as I know, that's the type they originally came with. For removing the extension bar and socket together, I found if I lean the extension bar back, ensuring that the ball bearing is pushing against the inside of the socket, both come out together. (I hope that makes sense.)
lol you can just use a black rubber hose and stick the spark plug into the hose and then put the spark plug down in the tube and even screw it on and then pull the hose off. No need to have to deal with the spark plug socket's little rubber gromit coming off and being stuck down in the tube. I only use the spark plug socket for tacking OUT the spark plugs. It's also interesting that they don't mention dielectric greese which helps protect the spark plugs from arcs and is recommended by most mechanics
Never let the extension with the plug drop in like he did.. Spark plug sockets are only for removing the plug NOT installing it. Use a piece of rubber hose on the top of the plug to install so you don't cross thread it in the block (it's aluminium). Just saying . but over all great video.
A while back I put seam foam in my 2000 Toyota Solara V4 engine but then the check engine light was on. According to a code from Advance Auto Parts: the fuel injector needs to be clean. There’s misfiring in all 4 cyl. I replaced the spark plugs and the ignition coil but things got worse. I assume that the MAF was contaminated so I spray a little MAF cleanner in the intake then I started the engine. However the front catalytic converter overheated before that and the problem continued. I removed the new spark plugs to check them and they had carbon on them. They got dirty really quickly. What should I do?

My 2000 Camry runs very badly with the single electrode type when I install the two electrode it's smooth idle...it revs really higher at idle with single electrode...I buy the Bosh platinum brand as it's two electrode
+J⃟O⃟N⃟A⃟T⃟H⃟A⃟N⃟ S⃟C⃟H⃟U⃟L⃟T⃟Z⃟ It should be okay. We do carry the NGK kit shown in this video on our website. Here is a link to them. Hope this helps you out. www.1aauto.com/toyota-camry-rav4-solara-spark-plug-ngk-3452/i/ngetk00013?RUclips&CTA+Comment&EntNazGjqX4
I know this might be a little late. But before now this is the first time I have ever seen two ground electrodes in a vehicle. I would check your owners Manuel and use the recommended sparkplug. This applies to any vehicle.
@@bob_a_dooda8434 Just checked the owners manual for a 2000 Toyota Camry and it says to use NGK(BKR6EKPB11) which is a twin ground electrode platinum-tipped👌🏽
I think it would be fine I'm new to car repair though, but I hear often from pros I know they say just tighten it up, but I think the reason. Here it maybe more critical is the competition on the engine firing.

Hi 1A Auto Parts staff hope you All having Pleasant & Safe week!! "The videos you all show are Helpful Thanks!!
Another issue with oil loss on these engines is the gaskets on the spark plug tubes. You'll notice oil on top of the plugs when you pull them out.

Glad they included the closing the hood instruction at the end. I might have hit someone due to impaired visibility out of the vehicle while driving.
Very good presentation. Clear and full of useful information

M A do you have a video? I have the same car
13 foot pounds torque for spark plug tightening? Is this for ALL Toyota Camry’s?
That's pretty standard for all automotive spark plugs.
Nice, thanks!
You guys rock
do the 2001 camrys use distributors ?
6:02
Dude just dropped it in 🤔 🤨 🤯
I noticed that too . Ouch !
No Anti seize grease on the spark plug threads?
Torquing it to 13ft/lbs you wouldn’t need to
Why he didn’t gap the plugs
You did not cover everything?
Thanks very helpful!
+carlos Cabrera Thanks for the feedback!
How about replacing the rear 3 plugs ?
they are not visible
This is a 4 cylinder. Best video I found for the V6 is this video.
ruclips.net/video/qf-4hq3kJFI/видео.html
what is the gapping for the Camry? pulled the ones out my car and they were set of 33. I think its 44
+onenite2nite Thank you for watching. You are correct! The gap should be set to 0.044 inches. 1aauto.com
i order a door handle. Love vidoes and ill order some more later on.
.44
How long needs to be the extension
The number 11 means the gap is 1.1mm.
We don't have dual prong thing spark plugs on our camry it just has 1... is that bad?

I cant get the boot out. Its stuck
Please, now do the V6 engine of this car
I have a V6 . Can u do a video for 6 cylinder
DAREAL CHEENO mine is 6 as well. Is there only 3 spark plugs??
printer003 There are six, one for each cylinder.
Is it mandatory to use the torque wrench or can I tighten it back up with the 3/8 ratchet ?

No use a torque wrench or you can strip them in and thats not good
+Stephon J Yes, you should use a torque wrench. Thanks for the question!
Of course it's a four cylinder
You were gonna show how to change spark plugs instead you give a inspection what a joke. That not what the title of the video says.
don't be rude he is providing a great service, skip it if you must
The joke is your comment
