Thing is, when you have a lineup of cars that all look similar you need something to set them apart. Guess that's the number plate placement of the Disco. It shouldn't be a deal breaker anyway. If it is, there are other "pretty" SUVs out there.

It served a purpose previously (for the option of a rear mounted spare), here it's just the car styling equivalent of the selfie-pout, it looks terrible.

The dashboard looks stunning but the rear is the elephant in the room as the asymmetric number plate does my head in & the lovely 😍 champagne colour scheme is sublime!
I do love these cars. I'd quite like to see a show on used cars, which ones are durable, stand the test of time and hold their value. Cars under 6 k and 13k perhaps. I could never afford a new car and you see great used ones which go for a third of their original price only three years down the line. So which engines will do well, which will cost the least to maintain once they are past their warranty, things like that.
Do not acquire one if you're unable to purchase a long term warranty. In other words I would only suggest in house LR warranties and no other. I acquired a 2023 Discovery with 100k warranty. Save the headaches and never consider pre owned....
It's funny you mention Waitrose carparks flooding... My local Waitrose has problems with its carpark flooding. It's located near a stream and when it rains heavily, the stream overflows into the carpark!

I lease one of these. Had it 18 months. Good design and drive but ( surprise surprise ) the electronics are constantly giving off warnings and it’s let me down and refused to move three times. All of the problems are electrical. Avoid.
Don’t knock it if you’ve never had one. I’ve got the new discovery shape 2017 model and love it even the back as it’s different from all other cars just look at how ugly looking all the BMWs are at the front with that horrible grill. . Discovery It’s awesome and best car I’ve had. Will definitely consider upgrading early next year love the new pivi pro system.
I’ve got one too but I’ve had electrical problems. Refused to start three times and went through a phase of throwing off dashboard warnings to “STOP”. I’ll be happy to see it leave.
Can only speak from my own personal experience I’ve had 4 Land Rovers and all lasted well no problems with any of them all serviced regularly and maintained and looked after. Had my current discovery new shape in 2017 definitely looking to changing early next year to the revamped model.
@@anth5122 I’ve had no problems with any land rovers I have had. I did change and now have the Discovery with pivi pro system in which was new in October 2021. It’s the R Dynamic D300 and love it.

They need to fix they’re disastrous reliability record, I mean cars brake it happens but 2 out of 2 friends bought Range Rover evoques and both had serious failures within 3 months
I really want to buy British next time but I don't think I can bring myself to do it again. The last LR I bought (2016) is the only car I've had that actually broke down and left me stranded over the last 30 years and I've owned many cars during that time.

Just can’t believe that they didn’t take the opportunity to revise that tailgate design. The D5 also lost the stadium rear seats of its predecessors which is a real shame. I’ve spoken to a good number of Disco 4 owners who, like me, are not convinced about the D5 as a beneficial practical alternative to the D4.
Chose new 2020 Q7 50tdi black ed. over this. Not only cheaper PCP with arguably nicer build quality, interior and useable space for smaller kids and their prams etc, but it absolutely kicks its arse on the road for refinement, ride quality and performance.
you could previously only fold the seats w/ your phone right? remember bear grills in 2016 when he did a skydive with 6 others & unfolded the seats w his phone? that was kinda cool.
They should've kept them square like they used to be or like the G-Wagon.....but after seeing the new S Class, I'm worried next year g wagon will have curves and a big I pad sticking out the dash😂

The LR4 is still my favorite Disco, but the new Defender is my favorite new Land Rover
In my opinion, 95% of the sold Land Rover Discovery will never make it to the battlefield, but it's good to know that this car has such skills.
