      OEM S22 are not the same. If you were to buy a new set you will find them even better. OEM S22 are lower quality as the bike manufacturers squeezed the tyre manufacturers to a price.

    When I bought my 24 R7, she came with the s22's. I took her for multiple spins around some twisty roadways. (I love leaning into corners) The tires held really well. Gripping the roads with ease and dominating the wet sectors of the roads, which helped me reduce fear of lowsiding.
    Awesome tires!

    My OEMs S22 are totally down after 7.500km and 16 months (Kawa Ninja H2). Garage-stored. Excellent performance, but the wear is quite significant without track days. Will have to buy a new set as sport tourings are not an option for me.

      Hey man, perfect timing for me! I have a Ninja 300 and I gotta change tires now. I wanna get the S22 but two friends of mine tell me, that it might not be the best tire for my bike, because that tire needs to get warm and since we do not have that much power on a 300cc, it might not work.
      Could you please tell me about your expirience?
      I had a Metzler M7RR for nearly 2 years now and I really really dislike the tire.. I just NEVER had a safe feeling on it and today that tire died because I got some glass into it.. But I wanted to change anyways..

      @@LoYaL_RR I have the S22 on my 2022 zx6r and they feel the same to me. Once you've ridden to your favorite back roads I'd think you've warmed them up enough to start riding harder. The s21/22 have a harder center compound for longevity on the highway and the further to the edge you get the more soft the compound gets so just some fun riding on curves at first should warm them up enough after a mile I'd think. I've never been crazy on my bike but I've been able to get about a quarter inch from the edge of the tire on both bikes without even knowing because it grips great for me. I haven't even tried other tires because I just feel so confident in them. Many other people left reviews of going back to the battlax s21/22 because they grip so good and give great response to starting to slide. Let me know if that helps👍🏻

      Thanks for tuning in! I’d say that it depends on what type of road conditions you’re riding in. If your doing more wet weather riding, the Michelin Road 4 and Road 5 are excellent. A competitor to the Battlax that I’ve heard good things about are the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  2 года назад +2

      Hi Tony, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the S22's! I don't have a very technical answer, because I don't know enough about tire "science" at this point. That said, the S22 is a hypersport tire that's built to perform on the street and on the track. So the profile is optimized for quick transitions and the materials maximize grip and provide good feedback to the rider. I've noticed that all these attributes combine to create a feeling of nimbleness and even lightness. I hope this info was useful! Thanks for the question and stay safe out there! ✌

    Just wanted to share my own thoughts on S22, 3.5k miles through and only because of my 1000 mile trip mainly on motorway recently got me to the middle being pretty squared and just on the legal limit while the sticky sides are still pretty much healthy ( no chicken strips 😉) and all I can say is those tires are really good, stick to the road like a glue shortly after they get warmed up and it doesn’t take long to do so. Surely that’s my quality tire of choice and I’d highly recommend. MT10 here 🤙

    • @emerel
      @emerel Год назад +1

      Just a quick add on, make sure the tire pressure is always spot on, it’ll make a huge difference in handling if the air is slightly down than it should but obviously that’s for any tire regardless 😉

    Apparently I accelerate wat too hard, way too frequently, most of my milage is on a couple old county roads that are moderatley twisty. I'm at ~3,000 and my center is almost bald; no burnouts. I run about 40 psi.

    • @rezneba101
      @rezneba101 Год назад

      just saying, maybe 40psi is too much, but then again i'm not sure what you're riding. Lowering the pressure might make the center band relax a bit, allowing the immediate sides to do more work. Just an idea.

    • @cnrom
      @cnrom 3 месяца назад

      I don't know what your bike is but i too think that 40psi may be too much, you may want to check on what pressure the bike's manufacturer suggests

    I'm on my 3rd set of S22s after going the whole range from BT 016 thru S20, S21. all on the same bike. I think they're great except in one thing, they take about 10 kms to warm up and that is in southern spain. If i give it some before that it spins if I'm verticle, ok if i'm cranked over. my old Ducati ST4 916 isn't exectly a torque monster compared with roday's bikes but easily lights my rear up if too early. Front seems better with accepting heavy braking whilst leaning into a bend from the get go. just my 0.02$

    These ARE cheap compared to michelin road 5's/6's, in my opinion the best value in tires. I have a '21 mt09 and while impressed with the s22, I'm not going to be in the habit of flipping for new rubber every 3-4k mi. I know i won't get much more than 3k out of these, that's with NO burnouts. I just ride hard and I do use my back brake. I'll pay fifty bucks more for a back tire if it's going to last me more than double the miles.

      They arent cheap--- just a diff type of tire. Road 6 is a sport tourer and S22 is a hypersport tire. Hypersports last about 3k miles of hard riding-- they also grip way better than sport tourers. Sport tourers for me cry daddy the way I ride so I run sport tires.
