Along with hiking or just taking a walk with my dog every day. I have found so much peace. I highly recommend it to anyone out there interested. It will change your life! ❤

Brooke's soliloquy about wanting to "just stop rushing," actually started to get through to me. This is good. I actually started to feel the silence, the wind, the snow, and the bamboo bird wood-chimes. This is serious stuff. I "get it," now.

That moment when you just finished busting your butt to get something done before the snow forces you to stop. The silence. The solitude. The sense of accomplishment. I’ve paused so many times to appreciate how loud the quiet is in the woods with the fresh snowfall. So many people are never lucky enough to hear it. 😌

I finally got to show my wife a couple of your videos. First she asked, "What are you doing watching some girl prancing around the woods?" LOL 😂 Then she tucked in and really enjoyed it. She got to see you and Dave at the tent and in the woods and I'm pleased to say, she's finally warming up to the idea of a remote property of our own. 🙏💑🙏 I knew she'd love what you guys are doing! Thanks, Brooke! 😉 God bless 🙏

You are such an inspiration to me. I cry sometimes when I watch your channel as I daydream of living like you do. I crave the freedom... the quiet... the trees... the not being a slave to society. I continue to believe in this possibility and you give me quite the gumption to pursue it! But what I admire most... your strength. And I don't just mean your physical capacities, but your heart and mind are fearless! You remind me that I can do anything. You remind me to embrace joy. You remind me of what my heart and soul are aching for. I struggle with chronic illness as I raise and homeschool my three kids. I know I have an inner viking in me. I've seen her. I feel her. You inspire me so much to access that part of myself again. Thank you for sharing your life.

    Hey Brooke,
you're so right about getting wrapped up in the world and how social media, and the worlds stress just sucks the life out of you Brooke. I just wanna take this opportunity to thank you once again for your response to my email, and your great advice that you gave me which I took very much to heart Brooke! I feel better definitely since we last spoke via email truth be told! Watching several of your episodes back-to-back made my spirit feel so calm. I really praise God for people like you that he's put on this Earth, that really make a difference!! and the other thing Brooke ... about working out for 15 minutes, I think I'm going to start doing that as well again. I used to work out for 45 minutes for 4 days a week, then I guess stress and working the graveyard shift kinda just suck the life out of me temporarily I must say. But I'll get back in the saddle, start doing my 15 minutes workout, instead of pushing myself so hard. And talking to God it's just awesome! I know he always makes me feel better about things, that's for sure!
I'm so glad that you are a believer Brooke, it just makes a world of difference to have God at the helm of our lives 365 days of the year every year of our lives! I know that I am very happy with simple things in life and what God gives me. I also feel blessed everyday I wake up! And you know it's true what they say, when you have him in your life, that's just enough!! 👍👍😏
I know I've told you this before Brooke in my other emails, but I have to say it again ...
Thank you Brooke for sharing your life with us viewers, your dreams, trials and tribulation, and your God honest views, and opinions regarding life etc. I know I speak for many when I say we value your heart's opinion!! And for many of us, especially me, viewing your show has been wonderfully therapeutic, not to mention educational and peaceful!!
You're the best girl in the woods! As always God bless you Brooke!!
You definitely have a lifelong follower / fan in me!!

Let me clear this up for y'all..... a tent that is left up here will get crushed by the snow. We get FEET of snow. The tent I'll be using for the winter is lighter- I'll be putting it up and taking it down after each use. AND.... the wood is fine. Takes a long time for wood to rot. In the spring this material will be turned into an outhouse. Thanks for watching guys!

On the positive side, it motivates us and on the negative side it overwhelms us with fear. Stress is really fear... fear of not getting something done in future.... not being good enough or strong enough, etc. It goes along with our self expectations and our standards. Well, you are doing good to breathe and slow down when you need to. Be safe now. Have a good week.

You need an engine powered log skidder with a "V" plow. The machine could push thru the snow and open a road and had a cable winch in the rear. Friend of mine lived 3 ½ mile off the county road on a seasonal road that he had to plow for access to his home and his log hauling semi truck. The old log skidder machine did a perfect job of opening the road. Those machine are use by logger to also build logging roads with the front dozer blade and the winch has been used to upright a turned over truck and trailer when a truck flop over on it's side. No commercial wrecker will going deep into the woods, so the logger use what they have to rescue themselves .

Love this idea! Why didn't I think of that. AWESOME! Yes, that area gets a ton of snow... I know a lot of people from up north. Looking forward to seeing what tent you are going to use.. My roads too have been closed down a few times already this year. No fun to be snowed in. How far will you have to ski in? I am always fighting time too.. crazy busy when you have teenagers.. haha Great message thanks!

We used chains on all 4 wheels when going and coming out in snow up to a foot deep. Going thru mud holes with thick ice, the front of the truck would break a sheet of ice and ride up in the air onto it until the ice would break and we would crash down. Chains made all the difference on the old woods logging roads.

Greetings from Prince Edward Island. I'm 56 and have a full gym in my log home. I work out at about 5:30am every day then I walk about 5km (3 miles?). In summer I do mostly my gardening. Twenty two raised beds and two greenhouses. I am a Data Analyst with the province here and sit eight hours a day, so my four acres keep me busy. And since I heat with wood, that keeps me fit as well. As you say, I want to be able to lug soil and pallets and wood around and the winter weight training regime helps. I watch a few of you folks from Michigan and Wisconsin, and wow you have an early winter. I've accepted winter as well, although I still have parsnips and carrots in the ground. I need to get them out and in my cold storage.

We used coated box nails to hold our plywood platform down because they pull out easily. Decking screws do not come out easily. Old timers used metal barrels to store their tent and gear over winter because they could be sealed tight. They would hide them in their wood pile.

Hey, it's Michigan. Stick around and the weather will change. You could very well still get your tent up. I love the box you built. My Dad built a "garage" out of pallets for his snowblower. I used to have to lift pallets a few years ago and they are heavy, girl. You are very strong. I just love my Michigan...it's so beautiful! And you have a good chunk of it all to yourself. You are blessed.
